Eureka Moment : Ardell Brow & Lash Growth Accelerator

** photo from website

Hey sweeties!

Just a quick update! I went to the mall guess what I saw?

Ardell Brow & Lash Growth Accelerator!!! It's not available in the past and I even have to order mine in the States. I saw it! I looked at it closely! hahaha just to make sure!!!

CONFIRMED!!! We have it available at SM health & beauty and Watson's stores. I've seen them exactly at SM Megamall! They didn't stock on a lot as the price doesn't come cheap. It's sold for Php550.00 (approx $12.25)

If you guys have short, non-existent lashes like mine? We may have hope! LOL but I haven't use this product yet. So please do your own research before purchasing!!!

Happy lash-accelerating!
LOL

Askmewhats Reviews: Bare Escentuals Flawless Face Brush

(this review is based on my own experience of using this product, again, different users have different opinions)

Anybody who reads my blog would know that I am not a loyal MMU user. I do use mineral e/s, foundation but not all over.

The first MMU brand that I got addicted to is the Bare Escentuals MMU. I ordered a full size foundation and a flawless face brush to start up my MMU addiction. I don't have problems with the foundie but I got super disappointed with my BE Flawless face brush.

Here's how the FF brush looks like

Bare Escentuals FF Brush says (from Sephora site) ---

With a short handle and its bristles made of ultra soft goat hair, this Flawless Application face brush will evenly distribute your bareMinerals Foundation, All-Over face color, and blush, leaving a flawless finish every time.

Askmewhats says ---

Pros
  • definitely does pick up the minerals better than ordinary brushes
  • I like the length, not too long and not too short, easy to use
  • look quite professional and cute!
  • doesn't shed too much
  • when newly purchased, it does smell but nothing too bad

Cons
  • SOFT at the start, but after several uses, it HURTS my face too much!
  • Price : with it's price, you can buy better brushes
Will I repurchase?

sorry but NO

Overall?

The first time I used this brush, I was so happy and this was my favorite brush. After several washes (take note: I wash this once or twice a week with Johnson's baby shampoo) and as seen on photo above, I took care of it and it's still in good condition. When you use your finger to test the brush, it is SOFT! But when you use this brush on your face, something just ain't right. It is harsh on your face and I honestly can't pinpoint what is the problem with this. It could be the shape of the brush. I have tested this to all my family members! Even brushing this to their faces just to have the "feel" test and they all said the same thing... "OUCH!"

I have taken care of this brush,
using baby shampoo
and spritz it with leave-in conditioner after every wash
I have done my part right?
So this is a YAY or NAY?
(I go NAY)

Askmewhats Version: "Together in Electric Dreams" Look

I am so stuck with the 80's song "We're always be together...together in Electric Dreams"....

Let me go back to the purpose of this blog...
Not singing of course , but hey, I can be a good singer :P (no violent reactions ok)

After my review on the PAC e/s that I bought recently, I've used this for a couple of days and so far, I am very happy with the quality and pigmentation and not to forget, the staying power! From morning til nighttime! <-- NO CREASING!
Here's a look that I came up with I've used as minimal eye product as possible for you guys to see the "effect" of the e/s itself

Products Used ---

Eyes
  • L'oreal HIP Cream(as base)
  • PAC e/s (Applied 2x: First applied lightly all over the lids, Second, applied with a small shadow brush and pack on the colors on the lid area)
  • MAC Black Carbon (Outer v)
  • Stila Smudgepots in Black
  • P&J Curly Mascara in Black

I am very happy with the quality! I just wish they have more colors available for me to fill up my blank palette :D And before I end this post.... Here's what I MUST do...

Smile at you guys and wish everyone a wonderful day! :D

It was a "touching" Surprise!

I woke up at 5:45am, sleepy, hoping it's Friday on my side of the earth.
I knew it wasn't ...so I literally dragged myself to take a shower.
Left home at 7am arrived at the office at 8am. (because there's not much traffic today)
Work starts at 8:30am, what do I do?
Go to my site and read what's on my blogroll <--- yes, every single day as you guys are my strength, you guys kept me sane..or insane? lol

I got a lovely surprise when I clicked on Kikay Exchange
Jillsab of KE left me a comment asking me if she can cross post my review on the MAC lipliner
I told her "yes of course!"
But I didn't expect it to happen so soon..
and I didn't expect it to make me feel so giddy....and proud!

After I came back to reality and realized
I am still a mortal
.....

I continued reading what's on my blogroll again.
When I clicked on Paint Me Gorgeous
I literally jumped back a bit, stared at the computer
and told myself "Who the hell is that girl? She looks Familiar!"
I stared at it again, and read the photo writings...
DEFINITELY...it is mine!
I read it at once and I just can't believe that the "gorgeouses" thought so nicely of me!
Though it still made me cringed a bit to see such big photo of myself in another person's blog
I am honestly touched!

To these 2 wonderful sites, Kikay Exchange and Paint Me Gorgeous.
I can't say thank you enough from the bottom of my heart for such sweet gesture.
I honestly felt I've won an Oscar
thank you for giving me the inspiration to keep on blogging
no matter how sleepy I am every time I go home,
I would always be energized to prepare for my posts for the next day!

Thank you!

Sorry, that's all the "thank yous" that I know of! :D

Askmewhats Reviews: PAC E/S

PAC Cosmetics (Professional Artist Cosmetics)

Everytime I go the mall to swatch this, I always thought this is a good quality local brand. I was wrong. I learned from the SA that PAC is French brand manufactured in Indonesia. (correct me if I am wrong please) I haven't heard much about Indonesian cosmetics so even if I liked the pigmentation, I let it go and went home and do my own research about this product first. I want to check out reviews on the quality, of course, I don't see much but their WEBSITE (Really wonderful website but not in English)

When I went to the mall again, a force pulled me towards a lovely bluish green colored single e/s. The pearly color was named PO1, I swatched it on my hand, I applied it on my lids, I fell in love! I bought the refill as I have a palette in mind that I can home this to!

Here's how the refill looks like

** for Php299.00 (approx $6.50)

See just how beautiful this color is?

Swatched ONCE, without base

The good thing? It fits my palette! 6 more to go! it is beside my ULTA e/s hauls :D

Let's go to the real deal...the review.

PAC Cosmetics Says ---

Eyeshadow padat dalam 2 jenis formula :
Pearly Eyeshadow yang memberi hasil akhir berkilau dan Matte Eyeshadow dengan hasil tanpa kilap. Dengan formula waterproof untuk hasil yang tahan lama.

--- Do you understand? I don't! ! But thanks to the lovely Inan from Shizzinizzle for translating this for me!

Pressed Eyeshadow has 2 Formulas:
Pearly Eyeshadow gives shimmery finish dan Matte Eyeshadow with the matte finish. With waterproof formula for a long-lasting power.

Askmewhats says ---

Pros
  • Affordable
  • They have refills!!!
  • Very pigmented
  • Stays the whole day, no creasing (well I've only tested to myself).
  • Size is bigger than MAC refills
Cons
  • few color choices (a lot of colors on the website are not available here in our country.
  • not all the colors have their equivalent refills as seen in their site
Tip
  • if you are using the pearly eyeshadow, it looks great when applied with your fingers or a brush that has "packed" bristles
  • wear this alone! Vavavoom look in an instant!

Will I repurchase?

Yes!!! This color that I bought is as good as Make-up Forever (MUFE). But of course, this is just one color that I've tried, I haven't tested on the other colors yet.

Overall?

One e/s has changed my mind. Good quality make-up doesn't really have to be super expensive. Because of this single product that I bought from them, I am very interested to try on the quality of their other product lines.

I will try to create a look with this e/s soon!
How'd you like the color?
Too wild for you?
