AMW Reports: L'Oreal Paris Event

Around last month, I've attended another event for L'Oreal Paris!  It was a busy month of events and I am glad to be invited on events such as these!  I arrived a bit early and saw a lot of cameraman and tv crew and met a couple of friends from the media industry.

As I was trying my best to steer clear from the cameras!  *laughs*  The event started with welcoming speech from L'Oreal Paris' Marketing Manager Ms. Glowie Ramiro.  I love it that prior to the start of the event Glowie was such a wonderful person introducing us to the L'Oreal team and the new General Manager of L'Oreal.  She's such a sweetheart!

We were asked to go around the different booth to checkout L'Oreal Paris' new products for the year 2010.  Let's start off with L'Oreal Derma Genesis

L'Oreal Elseve Smooth Intense Line

L'Oreal Renewal Lash Serum

Standing on the L'Oreal Renewal Lash Serum booth is the well-known make-up artist Jigs Mayuga, Jheng and I asked for a photo and he sweetly obliged!  Thanks Jigs!

Remember the Garnier Eye Roll that the ladies have been going gaga for?  There is something new for the men in our lives!  The L'Oreal Men Expert Hydra Energy Icy Roll On!

Jheng and Shen wrote on the wall of L'Oreal Men Expert some reasons we can give when we wake up with eye bags and dark circles!  Jheng is my lovely Cleopatra for the day!  She's looking gorgeous with her bangs!

Sis Shen, as usual looking very happy!  She's really such a bubbly person and I enjoyed going to events with her!

Met a couple of people during the event.  Ms. Glowie, together with Frances and L'Oreal Philippines New General Manager Mr. Armand.

Thanks to the whole L'Oreal Paris team for the invite and for preparing such lovely events!  I enjoyed learning what's new in our market!  And I'm even happier sharing what I learned!

Weekend Food Tripping at:: Mandarin Sky Seafood and Shabu Shabu Restaurant

Gorgeous Sunday everyone!  The long weekend holiday down here flew by so fast I wasn't able to do much! :)  Can't complain, I had the best sleep ever in my entire life!  And not to forget, I had great meals to go with great sleep too!  Which made me WHOLE.....suckling pig! *laughs*

My dearest friend wonders why I always dine within her area!  I always pass by her area on our way home from mom, so I was hoping someday, we'll bump into each other.

One restaurant caught our eye because of the huge sign plus a lot of cars are always parked right in front of the restaurant.  Mandarin Sky.  The restaurant looks intimidating as most tables are huge, but a girl's gotta eat!

Check out the interior of the restaurant.

I have to take a peak at the Dimsum Cart.  Not a lot of choices that evening.  There's meat ball, vegetable dumpling, Sharksfin Dumpling, Shrimp Hakaw, Pork Bun... I was hoping to eat some Fish rolls wrapped in noodles!

Shrimp Hakaw
Php75.00 (approx $1.63)

I am a fan of Shrimp Hakaw and I've given a lot of them a taste to be able to know if the Hakaw is good or not!  This passed my tastebuds and the price isn't bad!

Free Picked Veggies

Small Order of Corn Soup
good for 3-4 people
Php 200.00 (approx $4.35)
Tastes great!  Not too salty nor sweet, included are strips of chicken!
I remembered my mom's cooking right this very moment

Small Order of Yang Chow Fried Rice
good for 3-4 people
Php170.00 (approx $3.70)
Serving size is not bad for a small plus the fact that they have a lot of eggs, shrimps,
honeycured meat dices, etc...You can seriously just eat this rice and be full!

Sizzling Beef Tenderloin
Php320.00 (approx $6.95)
The funny thing about this sizzling beef tenderloin is that it came out NOT sizzling at all!  We didn't complain as the beef came out really tender and soft.  The sauce is just right and I hope they'll lessen the green peas!  Not a fan!

The restaurant staffs pride its good service.  I agree!  I even had to ask them to stop serving as because we're not used to having someone refilling our soup or rice!  The restaurant accepts cash and credit card.  No Service Charge.
Mandarin Sky Seafood & Shabu Shabu Restaurant
Banawe corner Atok St.,
Quezon City
tel nos: 632-740-5783/632-740-6134
Now, the happy couple wishes everyone....

Hope you have a great weekend food tripping yourself as we get ready to face the challenging week!  To the rest of the readers who's just coming back from their trip/vacation...stay safe!!!

AMW Reviews: Montagne Jeunesse' Chocolate Masque

I've always been whining about not being able to go to facials!  It's my fault though, I've been too busy doing a lot of things for someone who only has 24 hours in a day!  So given in between breaks on weekend, I grab different facial masks available in my "stash" to keep my skin sane!  A couple of weeks ago, I was given the chance to try Montagne Jeunesse' Chocolate Masque

The brand isn't new to me, I've tried their "leg soothing gel" way back early 2000.  I remembered my bonding moment with my sister at Manila Midtown Hotel (currently non-existent) as we massaged each others legs with soothing gel as we cried over romantic Chinese movie!  It was "Love on a Diet" by Andy Lau! :P

I am not afraid to try this brand because it has been around quite some time, a bad product wouldn't survive this long!

Chocolate Mud Masque says ---
Add this to your list of guilty pleasures: Chocolate in the middle of a busy buzz!  Excuse yourself to the ladies' or lock that office door for the most inspired and inspiring calorie-free perker-upper:  Montagne Jeunesse' Chocolate Mud Masque.  Smooth it on, relax and come out smelling like...chocolate (dewy-faced too)!

Other Variants available:
Peach Kernels & Walnut Exfoliating Mask - exfoliates and brightens up skin.
Aloe Vera & Green Tea Face Tonic - softens the skin and protects it from oxidative damage
Dead Sea Mud Pack - cleans deeply and nourishes with seaweed and minerals from the Dead Sea, with a hint of lavender.
Aromatherapy Masque - is a good choice to calm your skin after a day in the sun or a particularly stressful activity.

AMW says ---

Pros
  • easy to apply, spreads easily
  • has real chocolate scent!
  • makes my skin super soft!  Even days after!
  • instantly brightened my skin!
  • face smells so good even after washing, hubby was sniffing my face like a dog as he's a chocolate lover :P
  • enough product for the face and neck
  • inexpensive
  • easy "tear open" packaging

Cons
  • check out the ingredients as you can be allergic to it (please read my experience on Overall)
  • messy!
Overall
The first time I've tried this product, it was a great experience and I told myself I will follow the 20minutes rule.  On the 20th minute, I got a call from my brother and we were blabbing away as I felt the masque harden.  On the 40th minute, I washed my face and everything was great until I felt the itchiness and rashes occur.  (Photo below)

I told myself I will give this product another try so I repurchased and this time, followed the 20minute mask rule.  I was a bit scared this time as I don't want the rashes to happen again.  So far..it turned out ok.  I think my face was a bit surprised that time with the ingredients of the mask plus the fact that I left it overtime.  Here's my skin after the second mud pack.

Moral Lesson:  No matter how great a product is, precaution is still advised.  If you have very sensitive skin, do test the product at the back of your ear or your wrist area leaving it for 20minutes prior to putting them on your face.

I'm glad I gave this product a second try, I've learned to take extra precaution as my skin is very sensitive to new products.  My overall insight of the product, aside from the first rash experience, the next experience was really good.  My skin after the wash felt really soft which lasted for 3-4 days and my skin instantly brightened up!  Even without moisturizer or makeup!

Tips
  • do not prolong the product on your face, the product states 20minutes, follow it!
  • do not wear white clothing when using this masque as it will definitely make your clothes look dirty!
  • close your eyes and relax, no point in walking around doing household chores with the scary face.  I have to follow my own tip, I did scare everyone inside the household for fun! :P
  • wash the masque with lukewarm water, gently remove it, never rub hard
  • test the product at the back of your ear or the wrist for 20minutes prior to applying it on your face to make sure you're not allergic to the product
  • try not to use a lot of new products on your face in a day or week!  Let your skin breathe.
  • do the masque application with your friends or loved ones!  The more, the merrier!
Will I repurchase?
Other variants..yes!

Where to purchase and how much?
Available at Watson's, Landmark department stores, Gaisano Metro Group, Gaisano Regional for Php77.77 (approx $1.70)

The amount of product per pack
For the positive minded person: this looks like yummy chocolate
for the negative minded person: I don't need to say it! hahahahah

I seriously can't help laughing!
My teeth looks really white!
Gotta have Hello Panda because the chocolate scent
made me crave for..Chocolates!

Here's my skin after washing the Chocolate Masque off, no Photoshop, no flash.  See the "brightening" effect I was telling you about?  Plus my skin is super soft!  If not because of the first-time rashes, this could be a HG (holy grail) face mask for me!

Ohhh, at least, I know  how I'll look like when I stayed 24 hours in the sun without sunblock! hahaha I still look ok right?  Pretty please say yes??? :P
Have a wonderful weekend!  I hope you enjoyed laughing at my photo and I succeeded in making you feel good :)

Stay happy!

Nail Art Tutorial: "Summer with Fimo" Nails

Friday holiday down here!  I'm definitely taking all the zzz's I need!  I've done another nail art for the week!  It's still related to the heat, to the sun, the beach and of course...let's not forget to include the "feminine touch" I've always loved!

Summer Nails with Fimo
I haven't touched my pre-cut Fimo Clay since my last nail art tutorial.  Since I was in a bit of hurry to create this nail art, I've decided to stick on the flowers instead of drawing them!  I hope you like it!

Eureka Moment: Spiral Tie Hanger

I am a fan of neck ties, I use them everyday, whether I wear jeans, slacks, skirt or shorts... I make sure to use a tie each and everday for my entire life!  I wear them no matter what top I have on, either razorback, tube, sleeveless, blouses, long sleeves, I don't care!  I don't even care if the shade of the tie does not match with my outfit, they are my bestfriend!

WRONG!
Happy April Fools' Day! :)

Sorry, that is one weak joke!  But anyways, my joke is related to the Eureka Moment for the week!  I went..."gaga" searching for a tie hanger last weekend!  To totally erase the pollution I've put inside your head, I don't use a tie, I may have used it in the past for fashion but it's not my thing at the moment.  Why in the world would I even purchase a tie hanger?

Let me show you why....

MESSY MESSY MESSY BELTS!

Yes, you read that right!  BELTS!  My belt collection increased when I hoarded from Shannaholic Onlineshop (search the name on facebook). This post is also dedicated to readers who does not have enough space in their room and those who does not want to spend a lot for a belt hanger.

Personally, I also like to store my belts inside my dresser because I hate it when my belts start to collect dust!  I also wanted to see them instantly in the morning as I choose my "outfit-of-the-day"!

I'm glad I finally found it!  I've seen a couple of belt hangers at Daiso but this one saves the most space and can store the most number of belts!

Looks could be deceiving, it's not even attractive to look at, but low and behold, take a look at it when you start putting on your belts!  The more colorful, the better :)

One belt hanger can hang 20 belts!  More belts? Then purchase more, its so inexpensive you wouldn't mind purchasing a lot of these!

I hang it on my dresser door and  I love how good it looks together with the other colorful items!  That's my secret in waking up a big smile on my face!  Seeing sunshine! :D

*sigh* for only Php85.00 (approx $2.00), Daiso's Spiral Tie Hanger, you make this girl really happy!

How do you store your belts?
The extravagant way or the more conservative way like me?
