Eureka Moment: Seva (Service) Mat and Towel Refresher

Good Wednesday everyone!  I am on a giddy mood today because my brother (who's a bad arse Architect...lol) will be coming back home for the holidays!  He's Brother AMW who looks quite like me well I actually look like him!  He must be very handsome eh?  *grins*

On the serious side, I am really happy to finally see him again after our last get-together which was May of this year in Macau!  I can't wait to travel with him again!

Eureka Moment!  And promise, this time, it's not from Japan Home Center or Daiso!  I've finally found something quite unique and I want to thank Sydney Go for sharing this to me!  I got to meet Sydney during the Dollface Personal Makeup Workshop Part 2 at SNR (Photos of SNR can be seen on this link)

The Seva (Service) Mat and Towel Refresher!

Why the heck would you need a mat and towel refresher and isn't it easier to just wash your towel and mat?  Yes, I choose to do it that way as its more hygienic!  (that's what I originally thought)  I used to be a workout freak!  I used to workout at 5 x a week for at least 4 hours each session with my sister!  Yup, those were the days I was addicted to working out!  I mix Cardio and weight lifting and those were the times I have pimples randomly popping out on my forehead and cheeks and I blame sweating on that!  Looking back, I've come to realize sweating could be a part of it but the dirty mat and towels I comfortably lay on and use could be another factor!

Lucky are the people nowadays as more and more products are created to take extra care of the ones you love!
"Seva (Service).  Share the Practice specializes in gentle cleansing agents that keep you safely protected and the environment happy.  With non-toxic and earth-friendly ingredients.  Initially created to suit sports and activities with heavy sweating, this refresher spray works wonders on your mats, towels and clothing.  It's an anti-bacterial spray that's hygienic, enviro-friendly and non-toxic.  Whether on a child's clothing, an exercise towel, or even your kitchen towel, this refresher spray kills unwanted dirt and bacteria"
I personally have been using this on Mr. AMW's towels before work as he sweat a lot!  And he told me the nice lemon-y scent is quite good and it doesn't linger onto the towel!  I don't have microscopic eyes to see if bacteria are really gone-oh-gone with this spritz but I like to use this once in awhile and my sensitive skin does not have any complaints!  Now, if only I get back to Pilates and Yoga!

I have to compliment the packaging of this product, it has a protective lock to prevent accidental "spritzing".

LOCK

UNLOCK

Easy grip for easy spritzing

To use:  Just spray on the area you want, leave it to air dry after each washing.  You may spray on mats and towels before and after each use.  You have to be reminded to spray on your clothing before you wear your clothes or before you do your daily exercise!

Try to be cautious in using any new products, if you started to sneeze or get itchy, you may be allergic to the ingredients of the said product so be very vigilant!

The Seva Service Mat and Towel Refresher costs Php350.00 (approx $7.95) available at Aura Athletica Power Plant Mall, Sundar Bikram Yoga Connecticut, Pulse Yoga Greenhills and Pulse Yoga Makati.

Let me know if you have further queries!

AMW Nail Art Tutorial Featured at StyleSpeak India!

Dear AMW Readers:

I want to share an exciting news because I cannot contain myself!  I am giddy because StyleSpeak, one of India's leading magazine for hair and beauty professionals, being published from the last 8 years, recently started a new section in their magazine called Nail It! and they chose my "Christmas Ornaments Inspired" Nails to be published!

StyleSpeak is circulated to more than 30,000 salons and spas across India, which gives it a collective readership of more than 300,000 hair stylists, make-up artists, beauty therapists and a whole lot more!  That gave me a tiny knot inside my stomach showing to the world how I do my version of Nail Art designs at the comfort of my own home!

Nevertheless, I am  very honored and proud to have the step-by-step tutorials, and of course, the photos of Mr. AMW printed in such prestigious magazine!  The above photo is the cover for January 2011 StyleSpeak The Salon and Spa Journal which includes 2 page nail art tutorial from yours truly!

(You can click photos to enlarge)

Here's a feature about me at the Contributors' page!  I think I was the only one who really "posed" eh???  *shy shy*

I want to thank StyleSpeak for the trust and to Ms. Preeti Barot for sending me the soft copy of the articles!

Seems like the year is ending right, so I'm looking forward for a great year ahead!

Nail Art Tutorial: "Christmas Decor" Nails

Because Christmas is a couple of days away, I would like to go ahead doing another "Christmas-y" Nail Art Tutorial!  I know the usual greens and reds are what you've been seeing out there, but hey!  It's Christmas, it's once a year to do such color combination!  Not unless I'm aiming for Stop Light right? *hehehe*  I hope the simple strokes of lines will be enough for you to create your own "Christmas Decor" Nails!

Here's the final result...

Step 1:
Apply your preferred Base Coat prior to polish application.  Apply alternately Red and Green polish shade.  In this tutorial, I've used The Face Shop's RD301 Polish for the Red and Nature Republic GR601 Polish for the Green shade.  Let dry completely.

Step 2:
Using your own thin brush or in my case, I am using L.A. Art Deco Polish in white, I drew lines just like photo below.

You can choose to do different strokes for the other shade for a more random feel!

Step 3:
To create a more festive feel, I have applied glitters in between the white lines and base color using L.A. Colors Art Deco in Gold Glitters

Step 4:
Making sure all the lines are completely dry, apply your favorite top coat to protect the nail art.  I am using Elianto's Top Coat which is another favorite of mine!

Voila! Instant colorful Christmas Nails perfect for the holidays!  It's Green, It's Red and It sparkles!

What's your version of Christmas Nails?

"Me-Time" with Dove Chocolates

I want to put this post on a mid-week but I can't help it, I have been so busy this whole month and I remembered tweeting about this when I got back home after a long day!  Imagine if you have this right in front of you on a long and tiring day?

Dove sent me this package for that "Me-Time" Moments I deserve.  I have to admit, I am not a fan of chocolates and I did not take a bite on this until those days I am craving for one!  And the day finally arrived after a long day of make-up gigs and Christmas Shopping!

The four variants to choose from in which, I shared for my loved ones very own "me-time" ---

Dove Milk Chocolate
An all-time favorite for anyone in the house!  Milk Chocolate is the safest to offer for anyone who needs the sugar rush after a long day of hard work!

Dove Dark Chocolate
For the sweet tooth out there but does not want the harmful effects of chocolates!  Dark Chocolates, base on my research is good for the heart and a tiny bar of this can help your heart and cardiovascular system running well!

Dove Milk Chocolate with Hazelnut, Almond and Raisin
My mom-in-laws favorite!  A chocolate mixed with different types of nuts and raisins!  The chocolate melts in your mouth as the different texture of the hazelnut, almond and raisins gives a nice texture to the overall experience!

Dove Chocolate with Crispy Rice
Mr. AMW's favorite!  It was gone before I knew it!  Well, I was putting him on bad light, I actually knew that he took this because it was his favorite and I gave it all to him because he deserves it after accompanying me the whole day as my driver, my assistant, my photographer and my husband! :)
I seldom sit for more than 5 minutes doing nothing, so enjoying my own bar of chocolate is somewhat rare as I love reading the back label!  I am nerd that way! :)

**Looks like someone is eye-ing for my bar of chocolate too! :P

Thanks to Dove and Sai for sending me these lovely chocolate bars!  For Php45.00 (approx. $1.00) each bar, it's one of the most inexpensive way to unwind!  Keep it in moderation though!  Don't tell me I didn't warn you! :)

What's your "Me-Time" moment?
What's your favorite chocolate variant?

AMW Reports: Crissa Dance Synergy - The Final Showdown

How does it feel to be a judge for "Fashionably Fun Award" segment of a dance competition?

Overwhelming, Confusing and yet, it's Liberating!

When AMW was invited for Year 6 Crissa Dance Synergy Competition at SM Mall of Asia last December 11,2010, I was thrilled!  I have been a judge to several times for Singing contests, English declamatory contest in China and even company performances during New Years, I have never been called to judge for "Fashionably Fun Awards"!  I immediately agreed and I'm glad I did!

(Photo taken from: Crissa Jeans FB Page)

Let's talk about Crissa, Crissa is a local fashion brand that invested on style and quality!  They cater the smart and practical fashion lovers by providing quality and fashionable merchandises at an affordable price!  I can't believe the brand grew up to be this huge as I've owned their jeans when I was still in College and their collection grew from jeans to skirts, shirts dresses, tees, hoodies and a whole lot more!

I love it when companies give back, and I am all about supporting companies that do so!  Every year, Crissa sponsors the event to give teen girls the chance to show off their talent and make their schools proud!  Imagine, kids busy themselves in practicing for a dance competition which gives them a sense of camaraderie, sense of responsibility, teamwork and hardwork!

The Crissa Dance Synergy Competition is the onlyl DepEd and CHED-Accredited All-Girl Dance Competition in the country to date!

I was expecting for a regular dance contest but when I got to the event, I was overwhelmed with the number of people around the area!  This is a big deal!   Here's my report on the said event:

The event started with several mini games sponsored by:  Juicy Cologne,The Body Shop, WL Foods, Biogenic, Reva Footwear, Fres Beauty Soap and Sisters Sanitary Napkin.

The cool games were hosted by Rizza Diaz, who did a wonderful job!

At around 4:30-5pm, the Dance Contest officially started with funny guy Archie Alemania, former Crissa Girl Rica Peralejo

Co-hosted by Rizza Diaz and Tony Tony from Magic 89.9

The Highschool Division started with a bang!  I was lucky to be seated right in front of the stage as I get the good, heart-pumping view of talents!

The winner for "Fasionably Fun Award" for High School Division ---
St. Paul School of Pasig!

It was a first for College Division to join this year's Crissa Dance Synergy!  Whoever the winner is, will set a history as the first College Division winner for the said prestigious contest!  Here are the Finalists for the College Division Final Showdown.

The Winner for College Division's "Fashionably Fun Award" ---
Assumption College

Here are the criteria for the Fashionably Fun Awards:

If you ask me, they are all winners base on the above categories, what guides me in giving high or low scores is the "wearability", you can dress loudly to catch attention but catching attention base on style and color combination is what I was aiming for!  I am very particular in being able to wear the said outfit outside the stage and how easy it is for the eyes to look at a person's fashion from top to bottom!

There's no right or wrong though, that's why I wasn't alone in judging, it was a great experience to share with fellow bloggers Ms. Tin Iglesias and Mika Artienda! (Thanks to Mika for the photo)

Before I forget, I have to acknowledge the great performances in between breaks!  A heart-pounding performance by Kris Lawrence!  He actually sang my favorite song "OMG"!

The heartthrob Elmo Magalona!  The son of the late Francis M.!
I love it when he sang his version of "Kaleidoscope World"

I want to congratulate the finalists and the winners!  There's no losers in this event as the performance I've seen deserves a spot on TV Dance Shows!

I want to thank Crissa for entrusting AMW to be a judge for their segment and for making me part of such historical event!  It's a nice way to end the year doing something new!
