Something New: Revlon Nail Lacquer

How's the rest of Friday afternoon treating you? Better?  I'm still coping up and finding ways to make my parents happy again!  I am on the lookout for baby Pomeranian to adopt so Char Char will have a companion to play with!  I know how hard it is to go through life (yes, even dog life) alone!  So wish me luck on my hunt okay?  

I will be sharing to you a couple of the new Revlon Nail Lacquers I received!  This should be an unsung hero post as Revlon has been making great polish shades and quality are good but they aren't OUT THERE!  So to help share the love for good, quality polishes, I will be specifically writing this post for the brand!

TWO COATS

Just like most polishes, they would chip if you do not use a good top coat!  To prevent nails from yellowing, please (PLEASE) invest on a good base coat!  That's the least we could do to protect our nails!  

My top 3 favorite shades are Classy, Fearless and Sassy!  

Classy is perfect for Brides while Fearless could look like typical bright red polish but I love the fact that it has a nice orange base to it, that's the reason why I used this polish for my recent Maneki Neko nails as this is the exact reddish orange shade that we all think could bring us good luck!  Sassy, need I say more, is such a unique Apple Green shade that I can't seem to find a dupe on my stash!  Mysterious looks like a deep platinum blue polish that's perfect for the summer!  Scandalous, in my opinion, is my least favorite shade among the bunch as I'm not a fan of irregularly shaped and chunky  glitters!  First, glitters are hard to remove and second, the one coat photo looks weird and uneven! hehehe  Don't shoot me!  I'm just sayin' ... :P

AMW Reviews: Snoe S Skin BB Cream

Happy Friday my friends!  How are you feeling today?  I'm feeling a bit better, thanks to my wonderful friends who messaged me through Twitter, FB and mobile phone!  (You guys know who you are)  Thank you so much for the cyber hugs, love and support!  I can totally feel it even though I don't physically see you guys! :)

God really works His ways through family and friends!  Don't you agree?

Today, I will be reviewing one of the most inexpensive, YET EFFECTIVE BB Cream to date!  I almost did not test this product as I thought color matching would be a problem!  I'm glad I gave this a test and I even brought this with me during my recent trip as  I didn't want to carry the bulky Skin79 VIP Gold bottle!

Pros

• Cute simple squeeze type packaging.
• Has SPF30.
• Has Vitamin E which is good for your skin for long term.
• Has light coverage and can correct certain areas like dark spots and dull skin.
• Creamy and easy to blend.
• Gives a nice glow but not the "disco-ball type" of glow.
• Available in 3 shades! (most BB Creams come in 1 or 2 shades only.)
• Doesn't have weird scent.
• No white cast.
• Keeps my skin moisturized throughout the day.
• Never feels heavy or oily.
• Inexpensive as a little goes a long way.

Cons

• Very oily skinned individuals may need more oil control.
• A bit difficult to color match if you're online shopping.

Overall

I am really surprised when I applied this all over my face and stepped back!  I almost do not need to set with a setting powder especially if you're going for the smooth, plump and glowing (not oily) skin.  I find myself calling this the local version of my Skin79 VIP Gold BB Cream.

 

Tips

• Oily skinned individuals may still need to use an oil-control primer.
• If you will be out under the sun for prolong period of time, do not skip sunblock application!  Sunblock is applied before BB Cream.
• If you have fairly good skin, use this BB Cream alone applying more on areas that needed coverage or correction then set with your choice of setting powder.
• Though online shopping is fun!  It is better to try on testers before you pick your shade!
• Unsure if this BB Cream would work for you or not?  Share with a friend!  Purchase containers and split the price of the BB Cream!  You get to save at the same time, you have the chance to road test for a couple of weeks if the product works for you or not.
• Once signs of irritations occur, stop usage IMMEDIATELY!  
  

Will I repurchase?
Yes!  I'm almost done with my Skin79 VIP Gold BB Cream (and it's my last bottle). 

To whom do I recommend this to?
Normal, Combination and Dry Skin.  If you have sensitive skin, please do a patch test before applying the product all over your face!

For the sake of review, I am very brave to show you my "not the best looking" photo, I only applied a good amount of Snoe BB Cream Shade 3 all over the face adding a bit more on the center of my face!  I filled my brows and my skin is actually ready to face the world!  (I did say my skin is ready to face the world but a tiny help of under eye concealer would still be needed, hehehe).  But as you can see, my skin looks even and the redness on my cheeks were gone!

Something New: Perfection by Cream Silk

Have you seen the newest hair commercial by the gorgeous Georgina Wilson?  I did!  And I had my jaw dropped for a good 10 seconds!  She looks absolutely perfect!  No wonder Perfection by Cream Silk got her as their face for the new premium hair care line!

A couple of bloggers, including yours truly, was invited for a nice, relaxing Saturday afternoon at The Spa!  It was just a perfect timing as my body was aching from all the walking around Tokyo for the past week.  I drove myself on a very hot Saturday afternoon to The Spa, BGC branch.

As soon as I got in, I met up with Sarah Lim from Unilever who excitedly shared to me the new product line.  

"What's the difference between Perfection by Cream Silk and the regular Cream Silk we love?"  I immediately asked!  (Don't I sound like a reporter there?  *pats myself on the back* lol)

Sarah told me how we love our hair after stepping out of the salon, and how we wished to prolong the gorgeous look!  Now it's possible as Perfection by Cream Silk features a superior technology called Keratinology (yes the same one used for Keratin treatment to prevent frizz.)  The size is one thousand times smaller than nano technology which makes it easier for the product to penetrate deep into the hair up to 3 layers!

To experience the Perfection, we were treated with a 45 minutes body massage *ah, pure bliss* and we took a shower and were given the chance to use Perfection By Cream Silk for Full-Bodied Straight.  

What I noticed is the tiny hint of fragrance that doesn't irritate my senses.  I used the Daily Treatment Conditioner and left it for a couple of minutes before I washed it off with cold water!  

As soon as we got out of the shower, we were led to an "almost" salon set up were we had our hair dried and styled with the help of Detangling Spray to protect my hair from heat and finishes up with the Leave-On treatment.  We were jokingly telling each other how our hair ended up looking like it came straight from a Keratin Smoothing Treatment!

So far, Cream Silk never failed me in terms of hair conditioning!  I am looking forward to use this premium line and the price isn't bad at all!

AMW Reviews: Maybelline ColorSensational Fifth Avenue Fuchsia

Happy Thursday everyone!
My mood hasn't been great for the past few days!  I was sick since last weekend until the start of the week, then my dog Pudding passed away last Tuesday.  Seldom do you find negative happenings on my blog but yeah, life is like that!  We do have our ups and down, I'm not saying I am perfectly fine now but life has to move on, and I'm trying my hardest.  

Speaking of moving on, I have been looking rather pale so picking up the brightest lipstick I could find and yet, gives the comfort at the same time of not looking too "shockingly bright" is one big challenge I embraced!  I found a gorgeous lip color that I used even during my Tokyo Trip!

Shade is 160 Fifth Ave. Fuchsia

Pros

• Better packaging as compared to the previous Maybelline ColorSensational Moisture Extreme Lipcolor.
• The cap is the same color as the lipstick which makes it easier for us to know the shade without peeking the name.
• Includes manufacturing date and sealed upon purchase to ensure freshness.

• A perfect, bright fuchsia shade that can brighten up the whole look even without eye makeup.
• Very pigmented, you get the shade on first swipe.
• Applies smoothly and has a slight sheen finish which prevents lips from cracking or drying.

Cons

• I can't seem to find one for now!  I love this lip color!

Overall

A perfect "to-go-to" lipcolor on lazy days that I don't want to put much makeup!  Since Japan was extremely cold, I was too lazy to do much makeup so I just applied this lip color and it goes perfectly well with the Cherry Blossoms! :)

Tips

• It helps to prep your lips with your choice of lip balm to prevent dryness.
• feel free to top this with your favorite gloss for that shiny look!
• On a regular day, you can apply this lipstick without much makeup.  On a party night, apply this lip color with full eye makeup for that dramatic look!
• If you think the lip color is too bright for your taste, blot your lips with a tissue paper to lessen "brightness" and "pigmentation".
• Use a lip brush for more defined lips!

Will I repurchase?
Yes!

To whom do I recommend this to?
Anyone who likes the bright, summery lip color!
