So I got a very cute invite a week ago to celebrate with the founders of Happy Skin.  The theme?  Happy Skin's Save Room for Dessert Holiday Collection 2014!

The colors are indeed yummy yet fat-free!  Check out the 3 lippies included in the Forbidden Fruit palette.

On that day, I met with fellow bloggers and decided to wore the happiest color --- Mistletoe Kiss - a bold red  perfect not only for the coming season but ...a perfect shade to celebrate Happy Skin's birthday!

Since Birthdays and Christmas calls for desserts, the place Vanilla Cupcake Bakery is the PERFECT place to celebrate both occasions.

AMW Makeovers: Dynamic Youth Beauties

It's AMW Makeovers once again and this time, I'm sharing the look I've done for 5 beautiful ladies!  They are celebrating 60th Anniversary for the group Dynamic Youth and it was held at Manila Hotel a couple of weeks ago!  These girls are so easy to work with as they are very beautiful even without makeup!

Skin type: Combination (Normal/Dry)

Request: Very natural look

Client #1 has very beautiful skin to start with, so all I did was to concentrate foundation application on key areas (center of her face) and creating the "glow" from within using highlighting powder.  For her eyes, I just played a bit of neutral browns, silver and pearl white to create "uplifted" eyes.  And for the rest of her face?  I used a peach colored blush and lipstick.

Doesn't she look like local actress Iza Calzado?

Top 5 Highly Moisturizing Lippies that Last!

Happy Start of the Week!
Let's talk about lipsticks.  I own a full box of those but let me tell you, there are only a few ones that stays on my dresser table.  And there are more than 5 for sure, but I picked my top 5 favorites.

A bit of background about my lips!  Well, there are no introductions needed, I've always been vocal on my lip issues. Yes, you don't need to tell me that my lips look extremely dry, because they are EXTREMELY DRY on photos, and in real life!  That is why I am probably the best person to ask on what are the best moisturizing/hydrating lipsticks out there.

AMW Cooks: Triangular Shaped Lumpiang Shanghai

When I posted this recipe on Instagram, some thought I made Samosas!  *I wish!*  Sorry for tricking your eyes but it is just my simple Lumpiang Shanghai dish (Fried Spring Rolls) shaped differently! 

A quick background, Lumpiang Shanghai is my favorite comfort food!  As I was preparing to make some, I realized my wrapper isn't as fresh as before (as it was frozen for a couple of days already) so instead of forcing the wrapper to work against its will, I've decided to wrap it in this shape and seal the wrapper with egg white (better than water).  So far, this method worked!

Ingredients:

• Ground Pork
• Lumpia Wrapper
• Finely chopped onions.
• Finely chopped garlic
• Finely chopped carrots
• 1 whole egg
• Soy sauce
• Salt and Pepper
• a tiny amount of Knorr Seasoning (optional)

In the past, I had a hard time looking for the right skincare products that is hydrating enough for my extremely dry skin!  I think I got it when I worked in China for 3 years and my body wasn't used to the extreme weather --- too hot, too cold, too humid.  Upon getting back, my skin is literally peeling and flaking it doesn't look good I tell you!

Thankfully, girls today have more "inexpensive" options!  I used to spend more than Php1,500 for a highly moisturizing skin care product!  I don't mind spending that much for skincare but hey, if there are more inexpensive ways, why not?
