I Wonder: "Are You Still Into Mineral Cosmetics?"

I have to admit, I was once a mineral sample makeup hoarder! I get into different mineral makeup sites and I love adding those sample baggies to cart as they are quite affordable and easy to ship due to its size! After a year, I've lost my interest on Mineral makeups overall!

Recently, Sophie from Beauty & Minerals, sent me samples of B&M Mineral Makeup. The cute packaging and sticker made my heart flutter. I think I got my mineral mojo back!

A closer look on the foundation and eyeshadow samples

I Wonder:
"Have you lost your mineral makeup mojo?"

Smile and click comment! I'd love to hear from you!
If you are still on the mineral makeup love, tell me your current favorite brand!

Keep smilin'

Stay happy!

  1. I revisit me minerals stash every once in a while, but, to be honest, I have gravitated back to the common makeup of liquid and pressed shadows. It is just easier for me.

  2. Yesss... I'm quite into mineral makeup (mineral powder makeup) lately, but bad thing is, there is not a big assortment here in Austria.

Luckily high end brands like Dior, Estee Lauder have came up with one mineral based makeup in their range.

I'm really interested in the mineral foundation by Lancome, but it is not available here (yet).

  3. It's so funny that this is your topic today because I'm down to the last few days of my powder and was thinking it's finally time to try it out, especially since most of my friends use it and love it. Any suggestions on where I should start? Thanks! ~Sam

  5. A couple of years ago, I was hooked into mineral make up. I even joined pre-orders and did a little hoarding on samples as they're cute in little pots and baggies. However, I realized that it was making my skin bad so I switched back to traditional make up. :P

  6. i would love to love minerals makeup.. but for a girl like me who is always on the go.. i prefer traditional makeup.. all those buffing is so time consuming..

  7. definitely for foundation, i always go back to it in the summer :)
the warm weather (tho not THAT hot) doesn't allow me to wear anything else really.

  8. used to love them abit. now the only mineral makeup i use is the finishing powder :)

  9. I used to be mineral makeup samples hoarder too! I have outgrown that phase though. I still wear my mineral foundation when I feel like it (I still have one pot of a full size mineral foundation in my stash and a bunch of sample baggies), but most of the time I'm back on using liquid foundation again. The only mineral cosmetics I still buy are the eyeshadows and pigments, just because there are some unique shades out there and they're fairly affordable too. :)

  10. YES! But only for foundies and blushes, as mineral ES is too messy for me. And because I just hate waiting for my orders to arrive, most of my MMU now comes from the mall ie: L'oreal/Maybelline. =)

  11. I still am a mineral makeup lover and user. Mostly foundations and finishing powders though. I have mostly full sizes and avoid getting baggies and the tiny jars. I also buy mineral blushes and e/s in compacts for ease of use.

  12. Haha not anymore, I used to be a die hard fan of mineral makeup but now they just don't work as well as liquid/cream for me now. Not sure why...perhaps my skin is getting worse >.<

  13. Yes. I first started getting into makeup when I read about MMU. :) My mineral foundations are Estee Lauder & TBS, they are HUGE jars that I never seem to finish! (The EL is 15g. haha!) All my other MMU (concealers, eyeshadows, blushes, finishing powder) is Ellana.

  14. I still use mineral makeup. My favorite brand is Lauress. ^_^ Bare Escentuals and other brands broke me out.

Applying MMU is a lot of work though. I find conventional makeup is less work and is a lot easier. :D

  15. I'm loving Loreal's Bare natural mineral make-up atm. I find I tend to sweat off the liquid stuff and turns into a not so pretty mess.

  16. I still love mineral makeup especially for eyeshadows and foundations. They are available in such a huge variety of shades and for someone with pale skin as me it's easier to find a mineral foundation rather than a traditional one that matches my skintone. But I still also use traditional makeup a lot. Basically, I'm into anything good that works and isn't too expensive regardless of whether it's mineral or regular products.

  17. i find mineral makeup too time consuming to apply so i usually only use my mineral makeups if i have time to apply or if i really need the pigments from my mmu stash

  18. I'm still into mineral make up, since it's so much more resistant (it's summer now)..
I love it, because with a base it stays intact for 14hours + (I tested it yesterday).

My current favorite brand is http://www.fyrinnae.com/
They have some of the craziest color blends out there.. and seriously the samples come in little plastic pots and are filled to the top.. amazing for 2$!!

  19. I've been using Bare Escentuals foundation + mineral veil for more than 2 years now, I plan to continue using these for as long as they're available. :D

  20. nah!
i lost interest in mineral make-up all because i feel like they are really just like those ordinary loose powders. i think they don't really make a whole lot of difference when applied on skin.

i sweat a lot, when i apply normal loose powder, i got this muddy-look face..same with mineral make-up...no difference at all
    *shrug*

  21. I also recently fell in love again with mineral makeup! I started my affair with makeup with mineral makeup and then i found myself trying out more traditional stuff. But I went back to mineral makeup after a crazy breakout with the Laura Mercier Tinted moisturizer. Of the foundations I have tried, (and I have tried MAC & Clinique, and some BB creams) I find that mineral makeup still is the nicest to my skin. :)

  22. Sadly, mineral foundations doesn't work too well for me except for MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Natural, which isn't even a legit mineral makeup, and the Laura Mercier Mineral Foundations. Most mineral foundations I've tried makes me super oily than normal and and will look cakey overtime. But I love love love mineral blushes, and eyeshadows!

  23. Well I can say I'm still a mineral make-up user, on days when I feel like wearing something light but can still cover up my flaws :)

The only mineral make-up I use is from Ellana. It works for me perfectly, though I stil want to try ou other MMU :)

  24. I was a die-hard MMU fan for more than 3 years! Istill love mineral makeup but since I only have a very small number of brands that don't break me out and easily available, I decided to try and go back to traditional makeup (mostly Korean and Japanese brands)...I'm not a purist anymore hehe ^_^

I love Lauress the most when it comes to foundies ^_^

  25. T, I guess most of us do gravitate back to regular makeup at some point! I hear ya!

Jess, I know what you mean, it was just recent that mineral brands are growing down here too! Lucky you that most high end brands do carry mineral makeups now!

Crafty Batches, depends on your skin, is it oily? Dry? There are some mineral makeups that are good for certain skin condition! I started with Joppa and I love it!

  26. Anastacia, thanks!

Pammy, really? That's a first, to hear that mineral makeup causes breakouts! Di bagay nga sayo!

Donnarence, so true, it's just messy to carry mineral makeups! Not unless they are pressed version!

  29. Karysa, so true about the HUGE jars, I wanted to finish a lot of them but I just can't! I love Ellana!

Sugar sugar, I have yet to try Lauress! Even so it's tricky and takes time to apply, if it works for you, we have to sacrifice right? :D

Zxenarea, haven't tried L'oreal one! Thanks for sharing

  30. Gio, ahhhhhh, I know what you mean about skin tone, it is super difficult to choose especially online!

Maki, I know what you mean, on a daily basis, I just use mineral foundation as it's the easiest to apply!

    Tamara, thanksf or sharing!

  31. Dea, my first mineral makeup ever is from Bare Escentuals and it doesn't work for me! glad its ok for you!

Thiamere, Ahh when you're oily or if you sweat a lot, it is difficult when you use loose powder, I get ya!

Leigh, Laura Mercier, I have yet to try. So what's your favorite out of all the brands you mentioned?

  32. Dustbunny, oh I love MAC's MSF powder! :) I love mineral blushes too as they do last a bit longer than regular makeup!

Madelyn, Yay Another Ellana user. I love Ellana Foundation!

Crystal Gale, you look great with mineral makeup!!!

  33. i admit it has dwindled especially when it comes to e/s and even blush! But when it comes to foundation and finishing powder, mineral makeup is still my number one choice!

  34. I love Clinique Perfectly Real Liquid Foundation...except my skin gets white bumps after months of continued use. Not fun. MAC Studio Fix Fluid made me look really orange and made me veer away from all their other foundations. Am still really looking for a good liquid foundation. I am trying out Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer now. Seems great so far. But, we'll see.

  35. im always into MMU. when i was starting to learn make up, i used mineral foundation and blushes (given by mommy) so i think MMUs have a place in my heart lol.

i dont have a particular favorite brand but Ellana and Bare Escentuals foundations and setting powder are love :) Coastal Scents' line of MMU is very promising too. I've tried their honey glow foundation and it's good, too:) Laura Mercier's blush is on top of my list din. hehe.

  36. Crystal, yeah, you and Crystal Gale I would say reminds of me MINERAL MAKEUP! I guess that's what I remember about you girls when we first met at my Makeup Seminar for a Cause a year ago! :)

Leigh, goodluck with your "hunt" for liquid foundation! It does take a bit of time and effort to find "The One". Just like finding the right guy eh? LOL

Joice, thanks for sharing your favorite mineral brands! Glad to see Ellana to be included on the list

  37. I've just started trying mineral makeup that I won from giveaways, and I must say I'm loving them. I'm so slow to catch up on trends... by the time I get into something, the 'it' girls have been there, done that, LOL LOL!!!

  38. I've pressed my mineral e/s and blushes! It makes it SO much easier to use!!!

As for foundations... I don't know if I'll go back to them after i finish using what I have. They seem to make me oilier!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Jo.fourgal, hahahah let me know which one's your favorite ok?

K, I go for pressed minerals too!
