AMW Reviews: Etude House Cleansing Dream Light Cleansing Oil

Aside from Eyebrow Pencils, the next "to hoard" product when I had my unforgettable vacation in Korea, are Cleansing Oils!  I am on the hunt for more inexpensive cleansing oils that works just like my favorite Shu Uemura!  I think I drink my cleansing oils because I have finished up 4 huge bottles of Shu Uemura Cleansing Oils (not including those different brands I've tried)!

I can totally imagine my friend Sophie raising her eyebrows saying..."Obsessive-Compulsive!" (OC)

This time, I have to agree, face cleansing is really important in achieving good-looking skin especially for make-up wearers like myself!

After Nature Republic Forest Garden Balancing Cleansing Oil, it's Etude House's Cleansing Dream's turn to shine!

Pros
  • Nice clear packaging which makes it easy to see how much product are left.
  • Nice pump
  • Lightweight and non-greasy.
  • 2-3 pumps are enough for the whole face.
  • Skin feels soft and moisturized immediately after usage.
  • Can remove make-up easily.
  • No skin irritations or allergic reactions.
  • Can be easily washed off with water.
  • Inexpensive as compared to other known cleansing oils.

Cons
  • Not to be applied on the eye area.
  • Though the fragrance is light, there's a hint of "weird" smell, I don't know if its just my sensitive nose!

    Overall
I am impressed with this product!  For it's price, and the little amount I need to use for my whole face, this is a nice inexpensive alternative to remove make-up prior to facial cleansing!

    Tips
    • Pump 2-3 times to dispense product.
    • Massage oil to dry face until make-up is dissolved.
    • Add a bit of water to emulsify oil and continue with massaging areas that has make-up left.
    • Wash with lukewarm water and continue with your preferred facial wash.
    • Avoid contact with eyes.
    • Discontinue usage if signs of irritations are rashes appear.]
    • I believe this comes in 2 variants:  Light for normal to oily skin, Moist for Dry skinned individuals like myself.  The thing is, this light version is good enough for my dry skin!
    Will I repurchase?
    Yes!

To whom do I recommend this to?
Anyone who's into makeup and wants to remove it quickly at night!

Where to purchase and how much?
At local Etude House store for Php548.00 (approx $13.00).

My skin right after Etude House Cleansing Dream Light Cleansing Oil usage
Haven't used any facial cleanser YET.  My face is make-up free!

What's your most inexpensive cleansing oil that works?

    Keep smilin'
    Stay happy!

    2. Nikki, I feel dreamy about this! I can't imagine the huge saving i'll be getting if this worked as good as Shu's oils.

in your opinion, is this as good as Shu cleansing oils? (*naeexcite sa sagot ni askmewhats!)

    4. As you know me sis, I probably have tried almost everything that shelves have to offer including expensive ones. However, lately, I got attracted with Boots own brand skin care and was browsing through the active ingredients in them when one particular facial cleansing lotion caught my eyes and tried it... Result was... Happy (yipe yehey). It's funny having to read this post as I'm also thinking of featuring it on my blog hahaha!

    10. Rosey, thanks for sharing, how much is the one from Human heart?

herroyalbleakness, di ba? Well base from comments pa below, there are more alternatives pa! So let's see! This one is not oily talaga, the difference though is that the Shu one can remove waterproof makeup, with this, I try not to use it near my eye area (as stated on instructions!) I use regular eye makeup remover on the eyes, then this for the rest of my face and neck!

Marge, I know what you mean, but we don't have that much choices down here!

Xin, another one! Oh my, I think I only need to take a "spare" luggage for all the "must buy" there!

    18. Hi Nikki! Is mineral oil not a good thing for cleansing oils to contain? I just recently bought the Brightening Cleansing Oil (looks like Shu's) from the Face Shop and it has mineral oil. It feels heavier, also has a weird scent and costs around PhP 900 (if I remember it right). So far no breakouts and no irritations yet but feels a lot oilier than Shu's after washing. I hope to try the Etude House one and Muji's. Thanks for the great review! More power!

    19. Photoescape aaayy! nice :)

Bea,I believe this works good for Oily skin, as this was made specifically for the oilier individuals that's why it's called LIGHT, it doesn't feel heavy or oily at all and it easily washes off with water!

Marge, ahhh I've seen TFS one, haven't tried it though

    20. Issa, in my personal opinion? Yes, I like the extra cleansing oil removal step even after POnd's Cold Cream because I am crazy that way! hahaha I want to make sure my face is makeup free when I sleep!

AnnaTheDreamer, as long as it doesn't irritate your skin, with minimal amount of mineral oil wouldn't hurt the skin! With the Etude House one, so far, It doesn't feel heavy or oily AT ALL! I swear! This feels like water with a little drop of oil and it washes off super easy! I heard the Muji one is good, I want to give it a try once I'm done with all my cleansing oils :)

Tinabocs, yes it can :) I've tried it many times, but of course, just to make sure its super clean, I still remove excess with cotton buds and makeup removers!

    24. Hi Nikki!

My brother is going to Korea & he told me if I might want to buy Make-up/Skin care products there because he said it's pretty cheap there compared to their branches here. I read this entry of yours & it seems you are the perfect person to ask on what to "hoard" from his Korea Trip. Can you suggest some pls? Thanks so much in advance :D

    26. @rosey

oh this human heart stays oily even after rinsing it with water. it doesnt emulsify just like celeteque's cleansing oil...really greasy. the shu, kanebo, face shop and this etude's are those that emulsifies and can stand as a facial wash if you prefer it that way.
