AMW Reviews: Benefit POREfessional

To celebrate the Post Grand Opening of the first Benefit store at Greenbelt 5, I will be doing a review on a  Benefit product that has won raves after raves!

But just so you know, the moment you're reading this, I'm off to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with fellow Nuffies for the Nuffnang Asia-Pacific  Blog Awards 2011!  I will be coming back with loads of stories to tell for sure!  Oh, the last time I visited KL was 5 long years ago!  I wasn't even married then!  Check out our crazy "Bioman" pose at the KL Tower with college friends!

Forgive me, I was young, and clueless then! --- yeah right!  At 27 years old! *hahaha*

Let's get back to business! :) A review on the brand that created the buzz for months!
I may not have pore problems but I believe this could be an essential tool inside my kit, so...are you ready to read my thoughts on this?  Is the Benefit POREfessional really Professional enough?

Benefit POREfessional says ---

Quickly minimize the appearance of pores & fine lines for smoother-than-smooth skin! Apply this silky, lightweight balm alone, under or over makeup. Translucent, oil-free formula complements all skintones and helps makeup stay put. Contains a Vitamin E derivative, known to protect skin from free radicals.

Size: 22.0 mL / 0.75 US fl. oz.

Ingredients: (please click to enlarge)

AMW says---
Pros
  • Nice squeezey tube, easy to control the amount of product that comes out.
  • Sealed with foil upon purchase, guaranteed product freshness.
  • Does minimize the appearance of pores even tiny lines!
  • Goes on smoothly upon application, finishes up in powder form.
  • Foundation goes on smoothly.
  • Works as a makeup base too, help control the oil especially on the t-zone.
  • Light weight, never feels heavy on skin.
Cons
  • If you're allergic to silicone (ingredient), this is definitely not for you!
  • Contains a tiny floral scent which may bother some people.
  • The tube is a bit tiny, I would appreciate a bigger tube!
Overall
Pictures below will prove how this product work in terms of blurring out the pores and lines.  Oil control may not be the greatest if you compare this to the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Light (my ultimate favorite) but still, the velvety finish it gives on skin plus the minimizing of pores is already enough for the product to be called POREfessional!

Tips
  • Dab a small amount of product on where the pores are, gently massage the product in a circular motion.
  • Massage until the product feels like powder.
  • For oil control, you can choose to apply more on areas that oil up then lesser on areas that do not have much oil.
  • I strongly suggest to apply this only on areas needed instead of applying on your whole face!
  • Experiment!  You can try applying this before or after foundation application.  Whichever works for you
  • Always clean your face well before you go to sleep.
  • For this product, using clean fingers is always recommended, this won't work if you use a sponge or brush.
  • If you do not suffer from large pores or obvious-looking pores, instead, you just need an oil-control primer, then go for Smashbox Photofinish Primer light or other face primers!  I strongly suggest this for people with obvious pores!
  • Before purchasing, ask for testers or ask help on how to apply!
  • Not sure if you're allergic to the ingredients?  Do a patch test prior to applying this all over your face!
  • Like Benefit Cosmetics Philippines on Facebook to be updated with promos and tips.
Will I repurchase?
A bit FAT YES!

To whom do I recommend this to?
Anyone suffering from huge pores who wants to "lessen" the look of it.

Where to purchase and how much?
The POREfessional can be purchased at the Benefit Store Greenbelt 5 for Php1,600 (approx $36.36).

Benefit the POREfessional

Blended out
It blends into my skin immediately
Goes on silky smooth and dries up in powder form

I was able to try this to a client/model who suffers from huge-looking pores.  The large pimple on the left hand side and the white spot on top is left on both photo for you to see that the same area was photographed.  Only a tiny amount of Benefit POREfessional was used on the spot at the center.  As seen on un-photoshopped photos,  the After photo showed blurring of pores!  The pores are still there but quite a number are diminished!

Do you need POREfessional in your life?

Keep smilin'
Stay happy!

  7. Hi nikki! :)
Just wondering if Porefessional has coverage (which i doubt hehe)? Or does it at least even out skin tone?

I wish it has some spf though, even for at least 10.

  13. @Bun Bun Makeup Tips Sorry, to be honest? I have never tried Monistat Chafing gel as I do not have that much of an oily skin to go for that, and you know, I can't whip it out and use it on clients! :)

  14. @Kristina I can't say it has coverage but it just blurs out pores...what it does is it helps preparing the skin for concealer/foundation application!

  15. @Kristina oh! Forgot to answer, P.S. no need for SPF on this as you just apply spots per spots..use SPF prior to this or most liquid foundations do have some
