AMW Reviews: Sleek's Pout Paint

I steer clear from wearing bright lipsticks because of the following reasons:

  • My lips are extremely dry, most bright lipsticks are made with drying formulation.
  • I am too lazy to do retouch in public, wearing a bright colored lipstick needs constant retouching as drinking or eating may lead to an uneven lipstick application.
For longer lasting lip color, lip tars are the best bet!  Just like the famous OCC Lip Tars, it comes in tubes so it's easy to mix and match various colors!  One thing that stopped me from purchasing more is the price!  Is there an inexpensive version?

Fast forward to a couple of years after, there is!

The Sleek Pout Paint

Sleek says ---
Pout paint is the new ultimate lip pigment that provides a blast of color in one purse sized tube.  The intensely saturated formula provides outstanding color pay-off in just one tiny speck, and dries to a long lasting satiny finish.  With a wide variety of Pout Paints to choose from, you can mix up your very own unique shade using a combination of colors, or simply go for one stand out striking pop of color.

Size: 8ml

Pros

  • Well sealed upon purchase
  • Great packaging, it is easy to control how much product to dispense and no more wastage.
  • Purchase at least 2 shades to mix and match and create more than 3 unique shades.
  • Super intense color payoff.
  • Stays in your lips the whole day!
  • Surprisingly not as drying!  It doesn't have this drying feel I get in other bright, pigmented lip products.
  • No flaking nor cracks on my lips upon "correct" application.
Cons
  • Not widely available in the local market.
  • Some may find the lesser shade variations as compared to OCC Lip Tars a Con.  Personally speaking, even if the range of Sleek is small, they're good enough for me.
Overall
I am in love with these!  I actually brought them with me on makeup gigs!

Tips
  • Apply lip balm a couple of minutes prior to the Pout Paint application to prevent extreme dryness.
  • Use a lip brush for a more defined application.
  • If you aren't comfortable wearing only the Pout Paint, I strongly suggest to apply a small amount of the Sleek Pout Paint and top it with your choice of lipstick.  In this way, even if your lipstick disappears, you get a nice shade underneath that lasts.
  • If you are a makeup artist, it is best to purchase Cloud 9 (white) to make other paint pout shades lighter and Peek-a-Bloo (Blue) to make pout paints appear darker.
  • Use an eye and lip makeup remover in removing the Sleek Pout Paint.  Trust me, even if you brush your lips with a damp toothbrush, a hint of the color will stay!
  • Finish with a clear gloss to prevent lip lines from showing up.
  • Touch up with a clear lip balm in the middle of the day to prevent lips from drying and cracking.
  • If you are very adventurous in terms of makeup, feel free to use a tiny amount of these as a blush!

Will I repurchase?
Yes!

To whom do I recommend this to?
Anyone who likes heavily pigmented lip product and are adventurous enough to mix their own unique shades!

Where to purchase and how much?
Locally, priced at Php495.00 (approx $11.50)  available at Updated Trends Multiply Site or see the products in person at Crossings.

Milkshake

Pinkini

Mauve Over

Which shade caught your attention?
Which shade would you be willing to wear?

For now, I've been loving the Milkshake + Pinkini combination.  As you all know, if I'm on a makeup gig, I am "timed" to do makeup on a lot of people and no time to prettify myself, I always came out looking "pale" on photos as I usually eat up my lipstick!  Thanks to the Sleek Pout Paint I still have a nice color several hours after application.
