Happy start of the week AMW Friends! How was your weekend? Mine was super fun as I spent time with hubby's family at Tagaytay! I've been wanting a short, quick trip outside the Metro to wind up and thank God my prayers were answered! I'll tell you more about it once I get the chance!
My skincare regimen has always been straightforward, I try not to be too adventurous and stick to skin care products that works for my specific skin type. Now that I'm pregnant, I am more careful in choosing the right products that would not only work for me but wouldn't harm my baby or my skin! (It's never bad to stay cautious!)
2 readers asked for my "Pregnancy" face and body regimen, I'll definitely create a separate blog post about it as soon as I can. As for the moment, let me share to you my thoughts on the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser. How "ULTRA" effective is it on my skin?

cleanses skin of excess oils, dirt and debris without over-drying or
stripping the skin of its natural oils.

Pros
- Straightforward, simple squeeze-type packaging easy to use. I even take this full tube along with me on travel!
- A little amount goes a long way! A tiny pea size amount is great for my face and neck.
- The cleanser is very gentle on skin and doesn't strip off the skin's natural oil. Skin feels soft and moisturized after every wash.
- Skin feels clean after every wash.
- Works for ALL skin types.
- Though the product is said to be fragrance-free, there is a tiny hint of "unexplainable" chemical odor (but not that bad!). Blame my pregnancy hormones please! :D
- Acne-prone skin may find this product not good enough to fight off pimples and acne.
- Price. (Personally speaking, it is worth it as a tube can last me months at the same time, the product works for me.)
The Kiehl's Ultra Facial cleanser is a no-frill packaged facial cleanser good in removing all traces of dirt (except waterproof makeup) while leaving the skin soft and moisturized. The texture is mildly thick so a little amount goes a long way.
Tips
from Kiehl's
- Apply a small amount to clean fingertips.
- Gently massage into damp facial areas in upward, circular motions, avoiding the immediate eye area.
- Rinse thoroughly or assure removal of cleanser residue with a damp wash cloth.
- The cleanser doesn't lather up easily so take time to apply a bit of water and gently lather up before you apply it all over your face.
- For better cleansing, after lathering up product all over your face and neck, proceed by gently exfoliating the product with the use of facial sponge.
- If you have heavy makeup on, remove all traces of makeup with your choice of makeup remover before cleansing.
- People who suffers from pimples or acne may need the extra strength of other cleansers that can unclog pores. Talk to local Kiehl's SA as I believe they have Ultra Facial Oil-Free cleanser meant for normal and oily skin (I bought this one for my brother).

To whom do I recommend this to?
Though this product can be used for all skin type, I strongly suggest people who suffer from dry, sensitive skin to give this product a try. It is very difficult for people our skin type to choose the right cleanser.

Do you think Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser is enough for you?
I used to think it will never feel enough for me but I've been using this for 2 months now and I'm very happy that my skin feels clean and non-drying no matter how crazy my hormones can get!

Interesting. Any difference with Cetaphil cleanser? :D My skin has become so dry too now that I am pregnant and have been using cetaphil lately but I am still looking for a better cleanser.
ReplyDeleteI haven't really used Cetaphil cleanser as I need a bit more moisturizing, this one I believe has a tad bit more moisture!
Deletethis was the first kielh's product that i have bought! I quite like it but not quite like it if u know what i meant. *laughs* it's simple and does the cleaning job alright. but it's lacking some of the wow factor :(
