AMW Reviews: Benefit Dallas Blush

Before Benefit Cosmetics came to the Philippines, I told myself that given the chance the brand gets here, I promise myself to grab as many Box O' Powders as I can and so far, I think I've done an okay job in a year of Benefit Philippines' existence!  *laughs*

Note to self on other Benefit Box O' Powders to try --- Sugarbomb, Dandelion, Thrrrob and Hoola!

Benefit Dallas Blush is housed in a box packaging just like the rest of their box o' powders!  Well, that's the reason why

Benefit says ---
Give your complexion a natural-looking glow that will leave you looking younger, healthier and more vibrant. This sheer wash of color dusted across your cheeks, forehead and chin gives any complexion a healthy looking radiance... it's a glow that defies even Mother Nature. Complete with soft, natural-bristle cheek brush.

Size: 8.0 Net wt. 0.28 oz.
Ingredients: TALC, MICA, POLYETHYLENE, MANGANESE VIOLET (CI 77742), TITANIUM DIOXIDE (CI 77891), ETHYLHEXYL PALMITATE, MAGNESIUM MYRISTATE, DIMETHICONE, ZINC STEARATE, IRON OXIDES (CI 77491), IRON OXIDES (CI 77492), ULTRAMARINES (CI 77007), PHENOXYETHANOL, IRON OXIDES (CI 77499), BORON NITRIDE, LECITHIN, METHYLPARABEN, FRAGRANCE (PARFUM), TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, RED 7 LAKE (CI 15850), GLYCINE SOJA (SOYBEAN) OIL, TOCOPHEROL, BHT, RETINYL PALMITATE, BUTYLPARABEN, ETHYLPARABEN, LIMONENE, ISOBUTYLPARABEN, PROPYLPARABEN, LINALOOL, HEXYL CINNAMAL, BENZYL SALICYLATE, CITRAL, BUTYLPHENYL METHYLPROPIONAL, CITRONELLOL, EUGENOL. AMW says ---
Pros
  • Can be used as blush or contouring powder.
  • Very natural on skin if applied correctly.
  • Multi-purpose product.  Can be used as blush, bronzer and eye shadow.
  • Build-able shade.
  • On a normal skin, blush lasts 4-5 hours.
  • No scent/fragrance.
  • Pigmentation is good;  a little goes a long way.
Cons
  • May look dirty especially on fair skinned if not applied correctly.
Overall
Benefit Dallas Blush can look dark and dirty on pan but once applied correctly with light hand;  it gives a nice healthy tan to your skin.  It has a bit of shimmer but not too obvious.

Tips
  • This product is not meant to be used solely as a contouring powder due to the presence of tiny glitters, go for Hoola as it has a matte finish.
  • Can be applied as blush or as a nice bronzer all over skin.
  • For a more natural application, use a big powder brush or blush brush in application.  Always tap off excess product before application.
Will I repurchase?
I haven't finished any Box o' Powders as of the moment so I'll definitely repurchase another one but in different shades.

To whom do I recommend this to?
Works well on all skin types!  Dark skin may apply with heavy hand while medium to fair skin needs light hand application.

Where to purchase and how much?
At local Benefit counters for Php1,600.00 (approx $38.00). LIKE Benefit Cosmetics Philippines on Facebook to get updated on Sales and events.  At Benefit international website for $28.00 (without tax).

Photos

Just like any other Benefit products, they come with manufactured date.

Same brush on all Box O' Powders.  Natural hair that needs washing at least once a week.

Peel back sticker that has a list of ingredients.  I seem to have headache each time I try to read what's written here, thank goodness Benefit has a very good website and I can immediately check list of  ingredients there.

Dallas Blush on Pan
Dallas is on the plum side, neighter matte nor shimmery but the product has just the right amount of sheen to give a healthy glow.

Benefit's Dallas Blush applied on my cheeks.  I love using this shade when I can't seem to pick a peach or pink blush and I would go for this as it gives my face a nice contour plus healthy glow!

Have you tried Benefit's Dallas Blush?
With your skin tone, would you go for this shade?

There are days I'd go for girly pink blush while I could get adventurous by trying out strong peach colored blush!  But on days I just want to look laid back and relaxed, I'd pick the Benefit Dallas Blush and apply on the contour of my cheeks to create a "slimmer" appearance.  Using my fingers, I also apply a tiny bit on the sides of my nose and the tip of my chin!  To make the rest of my face pop, I use my trustee highlighting cream or powders and I can get away with "not much makeup on" and people would think I have healthy-looking skin! (fake lang yan! lol)

    1. Hi Hxero, I do have a small version of hoola and I agree, it is still the best to use for contouring.
