AMW Reviews: K-Palette 24H Real Lasting Eyepencil (Waterproof)

Who loves to use eye pencils?
*raises hand* I do!  I may be a gel and liquid liner user for years but given the chance, a busy woman like me loves to use pencil if only they stay longer and doesn't cause me to have Panda-eyes!  Is there such eye pencil?  I recently mentioned in a workshop that there's no such thing that can survive our hot, humid weather.  Look ma!  I talked too soon!
I am sure at this point, you've heard great things about the K-Palette 24H Real Lasting Eyeliner (waterproof)  and as some of you may have ran to the store to purchase one, some of you, who are scared to use liquid liners may be sitting in their desks pouting!  Well, pout no more!  A pencil version is finally here!

K-Palette 24H Real Lasting Eye Pencil in  Super Black

K-Palette says ---
1 Day Tattoo brings you the best of K-Palette once again.  We now have the 24H Real Lasting Eye pencil;  another promising product for its richness of the color, glossiness, and making it longer lasting!  In addition, it is comprised of soft pencil tip to make application easier.  K-Palette 24H Real Lasting Eyepencil is waterproof and holds strong resistance against water, sweat and sebum.  In addition, the eyepencil now contains beauty essences for your eye care while you apply make up!  This is a must have product if you want to complete your eye look.

Pros
  • Automatic pencil, no sharpening needed.
  • Smudge-proof and definitely water-proof (I was on a cry-fest when I wore this liner)
  • Very pigmented.  Swipe once and you get a dark line immediately.
  • Can be used to tight line and applied even on waterline.
  • No eye irritations even when used to tight line or applied on waterline.
Cons
  • Doesn't work on all makeup removers!  (Read tip on which makeup remover works to remove this eyeliner pencil completely.)
Overall
One of the best eyeliner pencils I've tried to date!  Smudge-proof, water-proof, sweat-proof and rub-proof!  Pigmentation is very good and the lead is soft making it easy to glide without tugging the lids.

Tips
  • If you have "impossibly" oily lids, it helps to skip application on waterline and apply this liner on lower lash line instead.
  • The tip of the pencil isn't sharp at first use, gently swipe some of the lead at the back of your hand to create a "sharp" tip before applying it directly on your lids.
  • For a more defined upper lash line, I strongly recommend to still go for gel or liquid liners.
  • Always twist back the lead after every use.
  • For a more natural line, smudge the line with a pencil brush.
  • As for makeup remover, works well with cleansing oil and other "oil based" makeup removers.  (that is, if you applied with heavy hand).  Regular makeup removers may work if applied with light hand.
Will I repurchase?
Yes!  Bought Deep Brown for my bridal clients!

To whom do I recommend this to?
Pencil liner users!

Where to purchase and how much?
Retails for Php795.00 (approx $19.87) in Beauty Bar branches in Greenbelt 5, Rockwell, Mall Of Asia, Trinoma, Podium, Galleria, Shangri-La, Eastwood, Gateway, Alabang Town Center and Midtown.  Also visit www.shop.beautybar.com.ph for online shoppers out there!

Back of the packaging.  Comes with English translation.

Total length of the "lead".

One "light" swipe gives a much pigmented line.
top: Deep Brown
bottom: Super Black

Rub test
This was done IMMEDIATELY upon swatching.

Water Test

Wiping off excess water.
In this photo, I rubbed extra hard thus some of the "super black" liner disappeared a bit, the good news is, I rubbed so hard and instead of smudging, the product disappeared a bit!  (P.S.  No one would rub their eyes this hard!)

As opposed to liquid and gel liners, it is a bit tricky to create a defined and full line.  Feel free to fill in gaps by looking down against the mirror and gently run through the liner as shown on photo below.

K-Palette's 24H Real Lasting Eyeliner and Eye pencil's packaging is a bit confusing at first glance, for now, I take note on the extra length and the extra silver ring printed as the Eyepencil.  As for my makeup train case, I'll definitely put a sticker on it just to make sure!

  8. Hi AMW! :) I have hooded eyelids and I was wondering if this eyeliner would smudge and give me panda eyes if I apply it on my upper lash line? I love your blog btw. Thanks! :)

    1. Depends on how hooded your lids are, if the line literally disappears inside your lid, well, a VERY GOOD eye primer is needed, and yes, no matter how waterproof and smudgeproof a pencil is, they will still smudge esp on humid weather and constant blinking. I suggest you use their LIQUID version rather than pencil. The liquid version doesn't smudge as much, the worst that could happen is "disappearing" liner.

    2. Hi again! Same anon who asked the question on hooded lids. :) What eye primers would you recommend for those who might have the same type of eyelid as mine? :) Thanks. :)
