Weekend Food Trip at: Alba Restaurante Espanol

Alba Restaurant, for me, has been around forever!  I used to live in Sta. Mesa when I was single and our food trip usually goes around Tomas Morato area!  One of the many few restaurants that I always get to see, want to try, yet never get the urge to really go inside is Alba!

Why?  Well, what to expect from a Spanish Restaurant?  I'm quite adventurous when it comes to food but my parents aren't!  So I always gave this restaurant a miss as I always thought its all "Paella" that they can offer.

Fast forward to several...gazillion years after!  *laughs*  I finally get to book for a dinner buffet to celebrate my mom-in-law's birthday!  My sister-in-law highly recommend this restaurant so who am I to believe but my family member right?

Well, it was a good decision to finally give this restaurant a try!  Unfortunately, it's not the Tomas Morato branch but their newest branch at Alba Prism Plaza, Mall of Asia Complex.

We actually get to book at Deal Grocer for dinner buffet priced at Php425.00 (approx $10.62)  originally Php765.00 (approx $19.12). It was a great deal considering there were around 8 of us!

But of course, the preggy lady had to crave for something not part of the dinner buffet!  I ordered Tortilla de Espinacas y Feta (Spinach and feta cheese omelet) separately for Php190.00 (approx $4.75).  Though the order took forever to arrive, the appetizer didn't fail me as I finished this in no time!  Well, I did share a couple of slices (2 to be exact) and owned the rest! :P

Now let's continue the dinner buffet!  Upon arrival, you immediately get a warm creamy soup.

Various starters from fresh salads (Ensalada del Caezar), pastas and breads.

Chorizos, Tortillas, Calamares, Champignon a la Plancha, Tabla de Embutidos, etc...

A closer look on their Gambas and other appetizers, these are gone in an instant so you have to be quick!

Bread, salad and thin chorizo slices up close.

Beef Morcon and Cochinillo Asado headed to maintain right temperature.

Alba Restaurant's famous Paella Valenciana and Paella Filipino!  Mr. AMW can't help but rave so much about their Paellas!

Pescado Verde, Pollo Al Homme, Callos a la Madrilena, Lengua Sevillana and a whole lot more that's perfect with your Paella.

More meat and fish dishes to choose from!

Finally, what's a buffet without desserts?  Flan al Caramelo, Banana Cream Pie, Tarta de Manga, Maja Blanca and they even included my favorite Red Velvet Cake!

And with a view like this?  What more can you ask for?

The ambiance is quite relaxing and the branch we had our dinner at (Prism Plaza) is a great place for friends, family and well...ahem..dates!  There's also a singing group that wanders around to sing your favorite songs!  I'll definitely go back for a second visit!
