Weekend Food Trip at: Bubble Tea Restaurant Tomas Morato

Happy Sunday!  Remember my first food post on Bubble Tea Restaurant, Wilson Street?  It was for my Baby Shower Party and I had a great time with great food!  Because of that, I've decided to recommend this restaurant again when my brother arrived from Shanghai for vacation.  This time, we've decided to dine in at Tomas Morato branch!  How was the experience?

Let's start with what my family ordered...

Fish Katsudon
Php195.00 (approx $4.87)
Breaded fish cutlet with cheese filling, egg and tonkatsu sauce
My mom is VERY happy with this order, aside from the fact that the fish came in huge serving, it was really crunchy and flavorful!

Tonkatsu Curry
Php195.00 (approx $4.87)
Japanese style sweet and mild spicy curry sauce
topped on breaded pork cutlet with rice and egg
Aside from me who's into curry dishes, my eldest brother have the same taste as I do!  He ordered a curry dish and gave a thumbs up sign!  The serving doesn't look exactly the same as the menu but it was good enough to make a grown person full!  The pork cutlet retained its crunchy texture and the flavorful curry sauce which isn't too bland nor spicy.  I usually do not like eggs on my curry dish but so far, I didn't hear any complaints from my brother!

 Oyakodon
 Php185.00 (approx $4.63)
Chopped chicken with mixed vegetables, egg and donburi sauce

The chicken is very tender and flavorful, aside from that, it was an added factor that the breading was as flavorful!  The added crunchiness of mixed vegetables give a nice texture on each bite.

Sukiyaki Beef
Php255.00 (approx $6.37)
Thin slices of USDA beef cooked with soft tofu and mixed vegetables
This is my order!  I was craving for hot soup that night (perfect for breastfeeding moms!)  and this one fits the bill!  I love the sweet and semi-salty taste of sukiyaki soup and the noodles are cooked just right!  The thin slices of beef is very soft to taste and I love the added crunchiness of fresh vegetables!  Overall, I will definitely order this again!

We also tried their milk teas!  The restaurant isn't called Bubble Tea for nothing!  I'm glad to finally give this a taste as I was super full the first time I visited that I gave the milk tea a slide!  Not this time!  I saved some space for my milk tea dessert!

Taro Milk Tea
Medium Php115.00 (approx $2.87)
Large Php125.00 (approx $3.12)

Royal Milk Tea
Medium Php115.00 (approx $2.87)
Large Php125.00 (approx $3.12)

Both milk tea tastes good!  I have to be honest though that this isn't my favorite milk tea place as of the moment.  Dakasi still won my heart!

Overall, I have an okay experience dining at Tomas Morato branch, I prefer Wilson, San Juan branch as the restaurant is bigger and more spacious while the Tomas Morato branch is quite small and noisy (you can literally hear the loud noise of the blender while they make the milk teas) making it difficult to converse well with your dining dates!

  1. I haven't eaten their food yet but I've tried their Taro Milk Tea in Eastwood branch. I agree, it was fairly good but I think it's a bit overpriced since there was nothing exceptional with the drink.

The Sukiyaki Beef does look delicious! I might try it. Thank you for the review, as always ;)
