Tip for the Day: On Beauty Tips from Anne Curtis (and me!)

Dear AMW Friends,
Okay, the title sounds exciting because it says Beauty Tips from Anne Curtis (I just want to grab your attention!)  If I've written Beauty Tips from Me, you're probably not reading this post!  *laughs * Got ya!

Who wouldn't want to hear beauty tips from the goddess Anne Curtis?  I have to admit, I'm never a fan/follower of a particular actress but one local actress I look up to is Anne Curtis!  She's not only gorgeous, she's got the confidence any woman would love!  And because of that, you see Anne on TV multiple times a day and you wonder what keeps her from looking tired, haggard and stressed!

One of the most recent commercial I've seen from her is her Athena Commercial.  Athena is said to be the only milk with Beautrition, Antioxidants and Vitamins A, E and Zinc that gives woman the healthy glow!

Seriously, I need that, I do not have enough sleep since I gave birth so watching Anne share her beauty tips on how to have a healthy glow that comes from inside and out via Athena Beauty Hour websisodes!  Of course, aside from her tips I'm injecting my own at the latter part of this post especially for women who can't get as much sleep as much as they want to!
Some of my favorite Athena Nightcap webisodes, feel free to visit Athena Milk Youtube channel for all 7 webisodes!

Lullaby
She definitely doesn't have the voice of an angel
but watching her sing can really uplift my mood due to her perky attitude.

Sleeping Styles
Want to know what your sleeping style says about you?

According to Anne, catching at least 6-8 hours of sleep each night plus drinking Athena is a quick and easy solution to rejuvenate the skin.  Aside from doing so, I'd love to share some more tips by yours truly.

P.S. I'm no Anne Curtis but I do have a couple of tips up on my sleeves that I'm willing to share!

AMW Tip#1
Use skincare that is meant for your skin.
Do you have dry, oily, combination or sensitive skin?  Search for products that are meant for your specific skin type.

Always remove your makeup well at the end of the day.
Purchase the one that's mild and doesn't sting your eyes.

Protect your skin from the Sun by using sunblock.
The higher the SPF the better, but try to steer clear from flash photography!
ex. Face Sunblock

Create your own natural face mask.
Example: Banana mask (mix banana with honey adding a drop of lemon or lime).  Leave on face for 15 minutes for a natural glow.

Papaya mask - rub a slice of chilled papaya all over your face and leave for 10-15 minutes.
**There are so many fruit combinations meant for your skin type, do your research and make sure you are not allergic to fruit products!

For Breastfeeding moms out there, this tip may sound weird but if you express milk and feed baby with a bottle, there will always be some breast milk left at the bottom, keep them and store them inside the fridge, with a cotton pad, apply breast milk all over face and leave for a couple of minutes.  My mom-in-law does this for a month now and I can see her skin more hydrated and has a nice healthy glow.

If you're too lazy to do so, use face mask for your specific skin.
Purchase face masks with brightening powers!

Ex. Hayan has so many variants to choose from.

If you suffer from Dry skin like me!  Cleanse your face with facial cleanser only at night then wash your face in the morning with water and facial sponge!
Ex. I love using My Konjac Sponge in the morning just to remove excess oil from moisturizer etc...  My skin looks more glowing and less drying.

Stay hydrated, drink at least 8 glasses of water!
I am too lazy to drink water but when I got pregnant, I was required to drink water for me and the baby, even without much skin care products, I find myself glowing and skin looks better and hydrated.

These are just some of the beauty tips for glowing skin at the top of my head, let me know if you want more! :)

  3. Nikki, i would most certainly read it if you entitled it your own tips. Aba, haligi ka ng local beauty blogging and I always think you have practical and wise beauty tips all the time.

See, you've enumerated a couple of good tips more than Anne did, lol. I get you on using just water and a sponge in the AM for dry skin. I suffered dry cheeks and I literally soaped my tzone lang during that time. Im happy that they're a lot less drier now.

    1. Look for creams with vitamin C as that helps reduce the dark spots! Of course, if you have sensitive skin, don't forget to check with a dermatologist!
