AMW Reviews: Real Techniques Expert Face Brush

Happy Start of the Week AMW Friends!
If you follow me on Instagram, you'll see what a productive weekend I had!  Well, it started as early as Friday!  I had a whole day shoot for a hair brand that I love (will tell more about it soon) then I went to Benefit's Agent Zero Porefessional Powder Launch at Aracama and was able to catch up with my friends from Benefit and fellow beauty bloggers.

On Saturday, I went at MAC Makati counter for my Huggable Lips Makeover and also had a brow wax at Benefit with Baby AMW around (he was such an angel!  No complaints at all!  Well, except a quick diaper change at the Benefit Boutique) and hey!  I was able to squeeze in a grocery shopping at Rustans Supermarket!  *yay*

And yesterday, I went back to Divisoria to purchase more toys for Baby AMW's Upcoming First Birthday Party.

If my weekend isn't busy, I don't know how you call it! :)   How was yours?

Since I'm always on a go, I tend to do short-cuts when it comes to makeup application so I definitely fell in love with the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush!  I got this from MySoCalShoppe and fell free to scroll further down to read my thoughts about this brush!

I have been wanting to try the Expert Face Brush ever since I saw the Pixiwoo sisters use this on their YouTube tutorials!

Pros
  • Soft bristles.
  • Firm enough for medium to full coverage liquid/cream foundation application.
  • No shedding, no bleeding.
  • Gives a nice "airbrushed" finish.
  • Perfect size to get into the small areas of the face like the sides of the nose.
  • Multi-functional.  Can be used on liquid, cream and powdered products.
  • Very dense.
  • Aesthetically pretty and professional to look at.
Cons
  • Not widely available in the local market.

Overall
Real Techniques Expert Face Brush is a perfect brush to apply and blend cream and liquid foundation.  The brush is soft yet dense enough to easily create medium to full coverage foundation.  This brush can also be used to apply powdered makeup products like blush, highlighting powders etc...

Tips
  • Stipple foundation at the center of your face and gently buff outwards.
  • For heavier coverage or areas that needs more coverage, apply with a stippling motion and gently pat with your clean fingers to remove streaks.
  • Spritz your brush with your favorite makeup cleaner like Parian Spirit after every use and deep cleanse your brush with brush soap and water at least once a week.
  • If you prefer light coverage foundation, use the Real Techniques Buffing Brush instead.
Will I repurchase?
Yes, definitely more Real Techniques brushes.

To whom do I recommend this to?
Cream and liquid foundation users as this cuts your foundation application time.

Where to purchase and how much?
Available locally at MySocalShoppe for Php630.00 (approx $14.65)

A closer look on the Expert Face Brush
The brush has a total length of 6 inches and the brush head is approximately 1 inch in length
(measured the longest bristle at the center since the brush has a rounded edge)

Top of the bristles comparison.
Compared the Expert Face Brush against the Buffing Brush and Contour Brush
L-R Buffing Brush, Expert Face Brush and Contour Brush

The Real Techniques Expert Face Brush (the clean brush at the center) is the most dense brush giving maximum foundation coverage.  The bristles are shorter than the buffing brush and contour brush.

Best brush to apply my liquid and cream foundation with a few buffing motion.

Have you tried Real Techniques brushes?
If yes, which particular brush is your favorite?

My favorite Real Techniques Brush as of the moment is the Expert Face Brush, I tend to pick this up especially when I'm in a hurry to apply my liquid foundation!  I also use this brush to apply my concealer with a patting motion and finishing up with a few finger dabbing!

  3. I love the Buffing Brush and have not tried the Expert Face Brush yet. Based on your review, it seems like a really good brush. Do you find if any of the liquid foundation gets streaky with this brush?
