AMW Reviews: The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream

Finally!  A review on The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream!  So sorry it took so long!  A lot of my readers requested for a review on this when they saw me posted this product on my Instagram Account.

What took me so long?  The fact that the product states: "Suitable for Blemished Skin".  Of course, I didn't wish for blemished skin but I was actually waiting for "sudden pimple-appearance" for me to be able to gauge if the product is indeed suitable for blemished skin.

The Body Shop says ---
Perfect your complexion and fight the look of blemishes with our Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream. This dual action cream gives you flawless coverage whilst tackling the appearance of blemishes. Formulated with purifying Community Fair Trade organic tea tree oil from Kenya.
  • Blemishes and imperfections are instantly covered
  • Lightweight formula gives shine-free complexion
  • 3 shades blend seamlessly into all skin tones for natural-looking coverage

AMW says ---
Pros
  • Packaging!  The BB cream is packaged in a green plastic squeeze tube with a flip cap.
  • Packaging is small and handy, perfect for travel.
  • Easy to blend.
  • Light to medium coverage.
  • Non-drying even for dry skinned users.
  • Feels light on skin after application.
  • Works well with concealer and foundation.
  • Does not leave white cast.

Cons
  • You will need concealer to concealer red spots or pimple marks.
  • My oil up on very oily-skinned users after several hours.
  • So far, I tried using this with a small "zit" on my chin, it didn't let my zit disappear after several use, I think the effect will take some time so I still go with my trustee The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil to zap my pimples IMMEDIATELY!
Neutral
  • Maybe this opinion is just me but I actually like the Tea Tree Oil scent, gives me a soothing feel.
  • Price.
  • No SPF, which I personally do not mind as I use separate face sunblock.
    Overall
The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream has a creamy formulation that spreads easily when you use your fingers.  The effect is dewy so if you're looking for matte finish, better set it with powder.

    Tips
    from The Body Shop
    • Squeeze BB cream onto fingertips and spread all over face until fully blended. Alternatively, dot gently onto emergency blemishes for on the spot coverage.
    • For best results, use our Tea Tree Pore Minimiser before applying BB Cream for spotless-looking skin with pores that look smaller and skin that appears smoother and more mattified!
    from AMW
    • Best to use your pimple-zapping treatment prior to BB Cream treatment.
    • Best applied using your clean fingers!  The warmth of your fingers makes it easier to spread the product.
    • Spot conceal after BB Cream application as the coverage won't be enough.
    • If you have dry/normal skin with a possible chance of breakouts, the Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream is for you.
    • If you have oily skin, best to use an oil-control primer underneath or set the BB cream with setting powder.
    • This may oxidize on acidic skin so please choose the right shade.  02 Medium is a universal shade for most Filipinas but go for 01 if you are acidic.
    • Bought the wrong BB Cream shade?  Fret not!  Adjust your base shade with a lighter or darker powder/cream/liquid foundation.
    Will I repurchase?
No. This particular variant is not for me.

To whom do I recommend this to?
Normal, combination and dry skin.  Very oily skinned users may not be comfortable with the "dewy" finish unless they set it with an oil control setting powder.

Where to purchase and how much?
At The Body Shop stores priced at Php795.00 (approx $18.00)

Packaging.  The green tube packaging says it all!  It has the famous The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil included in the ingredients list!  My favorite TBS product, BUT, the amount is not as much so make sure to use the concentrated Tea Tree Oil for spot concealing (my secret that is not-so-secret anymore) to remove newborn zits!

    Application:
I prefer to use my clean fingers in application using downward strokes or shall I say, go with the direction of your facial hair.

Feel free to start at the center of your face where coverage is needed most!

    Before and After
My skin looks brighter, very natural and The Body Shop tea Tree Flawless BB Cream did lessen the redness on the side of my nose and a bit of my under eye darkness.  BUT NOT enough if you want full coverage.
