Weekend Food Trip at: Kettle

Hi AMW Friends!
I had so much fun yesterday at the Philosophy SM Mega Fashion Hall branch!  And because I like to keep souvenir on each of my workshop (a.k.a. Photo-op with the store's most distinct area), I chose, again and again, the famous Tub!  And I'm so happy how they were decorated not only with Philosophy's bestselling bath products, they also include 10 lootbags for attendees and ONE huge bag for the major prize!  Amazing right?  THANK YOU SO MUCH Philosophy Philippines for inviting me and my readers to grace your lovely "abode".

And here are the gorgeous attendees who went all the way to SM Megamall!  Thank you for spending time with me and for being such a sport to take photos immediately after facial!  See how gorgeous they all look without make-up?

And Saturday turned even better because I don't drive home by myself like I used to, instead, I took some free time to roam around the mall and wait for my husband and son for a quick date!  The time of the date didn't turn out right --- they arrived so late due to traffic but nothing can ruin my good mood!

I requested to have a date again at Kettle Restaurant.  The first time we were there was with good friend from Benefit Tasha, she was the one who highly recommend the place and the food didn't fail!  I think I didn't get to blog about this restaurant because we were all famished and we dove in to our food immediately upon serving!

This time, we took time, even if it was a 9:15pm dinner.  Here's our simple orders.

Oven Roasted Squash Soup
Php260.00 (approx $5.90)
Comes with shrimp salad, lemon oil and a tarragon.

From all the squash/pumpkin soup I've tried in restaurants, this is the most unique because of the combination.  Seldom do you find squash soup that has shrimp bits on it, and this soup is more of a "squash" base rather than cream based!  You can literally taste tarragon but it doesn't bother me at all!  Really good, heart-warming starter.

Angus Roastbeef Hash
Php539.00 (approx $12.25)
Fried potatoes, egg, gravy, choice of rice or toasted bread
I am quite surprised this dish isn't as good as my expecatation.  The diced angus roastbeef isn't extremely tender but it wasn't difficult to chew.  I just felt like I was expecting for more!  The gravy wasn't enough so we had to ask for more!  Overall, the dish is just so-so.  The idea was special but the taste was blah.  Sorry Kettle, will definitely try other dishes.

Buttermilk Fried Chicken
Php559.00 (approx $12.70)
Honey Glazed Cornbread, country gravy, Cajun honey
This is a repeat order and definitely worth repeating again and again!  So sorry the dish wasn't supposed to look this way!  Normal order would be 2 boneless chicken breasts fried to perfection (we requested to have them chopped) and the perfect combination would be the 3 corn bread.  We opted for rice since we haven't have dinner and we're hungry!

Overall, there area miss in the dish we ordered but that won't stop us from coming back to try out their other dishes!

Feel free to visit them at Level 5, East Wing, Shangri-La Plaza, Ortigas, Mandaluyong City

Have you tried Kettle?
Any dish you highly recommend for our next visit?

Keep smilin'
Stay happy!
