I know when it comes to makeup, there's no rules! But at times, I actually like to use just ONE brand on major areas on my face --- like for Kanebo's case, I went for eyeshadows and lipstick from the same brand because, why not?
I recently got the Kanebo Selection Colors Eyeshadow Palette in 01 Cool Monotone and Kanebo Moisture Rouge in shade 05 Core Red. These 2 are perfect to create a simple daytime look and can even work for night time!
I can create so many looks in just one palette but this is the easiest and simplest way using most of the shadows in the palette too!
Kanebo Selection Colors Eyeshadow
Php3,300.00
There are a total of 3 palettes in the newly launched collection (01 Cool Monotone, 02 Stylish Brown and 03 Gently Pink). I got the perfect palette because this shade gives me the "oomph" without looking too made up.
The palette consists of 5 shades ---
- Lighting Color (Upper left) - this shade is similar to "champagne" and this provides translucent and delicate sparkle.
- Shadowing Color (Lower Left) - This is a natural shadow shade that can create "depth" to your eyes. I actually like wearing this alone on lazy days.
- Styling Color (Upper Right) - In this palette is the silver grey shade. This is the perfect shade to create depth and can shape your eyes.
- Framing Color (Lower Right) - I call this my corner-V shade and can also be used on the crease to create "fake crease" specifically for monolids.
- Refining Color (middle) - brights brightness and provides a refined and smooth luster. I call this my inner corner of the eyes shade. A perfect highlighter.
If you have puffy lids like I do, it is best to use the Shadowing Color as your "base" instead of the sparkly ones! This will deepen your lid creating fake depth. I apply this shade all over my lid blending everything until seamless.
Using the Styling Color or the silver grey shade, I apply this on the lid not going above the crease. This will be my secondary shade mixing the first shade to create a unique color. Don't forget to apply the lower lashline with the same shadow shade!
With a pencil brush, I pick the darkest shade or the Refining color and apply close the the upper and lower lashline. Once you're happy with the amount of product applied on your lid, blend everything with a fluffy clean blending brush.
Use any liner of choice, I am actually testing the Essence Liquid Ink Waterproof Eyeliner so I went for this!
Initial thoughts, this liquid liner is indeed waterproof but I wish the brush has a sharper end!
Use any pencil liner of choice to apply to the lower lashline and waterline. I am also testing this 24ORE Pencil Liner. Initial thoughts, liner isn't as smooth as other liner brands! I had to warm it up at the back of my hand first before applying.
I can actually add more and go beyond the crease to create more drama, but I'm aiming for natural Japanese makeup.
As for the lips, I went for a lilpstick that doesn't just give vibrant color on to my lips, instead, a lipstick that can give extreme moisture to my thirsty parched lips! This lipstick leaves my lips looking elegant and classy at the same time, super hydrated all throughout the time I wear this.
Kanebo Moisture Rouge
Shade 05 Core Red
Php2,100.00
05 Core Red doesn't look like the regular red lipstick you have in mind, it is more of a rose-brown shade! It looks extremely natural on my pigmented lips and I would imagine this looking great even on users who have fair or dark complexion.
Overall Kanebo Look
This is my version of a super fresh and easy-to-do makeup using Kanebo newly launched makeup products!
