Easiest Brush to Contour Your Face

I currently own so many makeup brushes I can't seem to keep track and I dread washing them on a weekly basis!  (shhhh)

But, a certain brush brand caught my attention because it is indeed so easy-to-use and it delivers as what the name says, it frames my face whenever I use this and the name is called.....

I got this brush as a Christmas Gift last year and have been testing and using this for almost 2 months now.

If you ask me, at first glance, the brush doesn't look anything special at all!  I mean judging by the look of the bristles, application could go messy.  But of course, who am I to judge?  I gave this a small sweep under my cheekbones the moment I received this (not recommended as you need to wash your brushes upon purchase)

Initial thoughts?  Brush hair is quite soft and easy to use and it fits under my cheekbones perfectly.

According to Pro Studio Beauty Exclusives ---
"Sculpts and defines with control; ideal for use on cheekbones, jawline, and sides of the nose; specially designed brush head hugs facial contours for effortless application; works with pressed or loose bronzer powder, creams, or liquids. It’s perfect for targeted contouring."
So I picked my favorite daytime contour shade from Pony Effect  and used this specifically on my cheeks and sometimes the forehead when I decide to hide my bangs.

I start from the hairline and gently sweep downwards.

Just so you know, the Pony Effect Nice Shading in Crony is actually a very light colored contour shade and I like how this brush pick up all the right pigments and transfer it straight on my cheeks with not much fall-outs.  See how the effect was immediately seen at first swipe?

AMW says ---

  • The brush is non-scratchy.
  • Though bristles are soft, it has a right amount of "firmness" so I can easily control where to specifically contour.
  • Can also double up as a highlighter brush.
  • Can also be used to apply blush powders (if you prefer the defined blush application)
  • Brushes are dense and packed pretty well.  No fall-outs during application and upon washing.

Overall, this is definitely the easiest contour brush for the face and I can't wait to see other shapes/sizes to contour smaller areas (ex. nose)

  1. I still prefer the angled blush brush to contour because my contour is not so obviously straight lol ;)
