Does Catrice Mattifying Powder Give Me The Healthy Look?

I use face powder more than any other "base makeup" on a daily basis.  Well, adding a concealer to that, I am drawn to purchasing more face powders and even more drawn to face powders that does not only mattify but gives a nice healthy glow.

Yes, I have dry skin, so that's the reason why I make sure to look for powders that does not enhance dry patches and this powder went through an AMW test!

Catrice says ---
"Perfectly matt. The velvety texture with a translucent finish melts with the skin and adapts to all skin tones. A harmony of four shades gives the complexion a healthy and fresh look, providing the face with a soft and matt finish. The interaction of four colours results in a summery burst of freshness. Get the “back from holiday“ look!"

At first glance, I thought this was a subtle-looking blush but the BA from Catrice actually explained to me that the "colors" I see on pan gives a "healthy glow" but none of those color pigments.

I wasn't that swayed so I got one myself and took this home to swatch.

To see is to believe!  As much as I try to grab some "peach" pigment on pan, the powder appears like regular face powder.  The shade I would say is close to a "nude" color or maybe equivalent to "Light Beige" to some powder foundation.

This product works as a MATTIFYING POWDER, do not expect coverage because this, again, works as a last step in base makeup, a setting powder or better yet, I treat this as my retouch powder.

To prevent makeup creasing or heavy-feel, I highly recommend all my clients to purchase a translucent setting powder or any mattifying powder as a retouch powder.  As much as we like to PILE on powder foundation for coverage, it may look unnatural and heavy midday!  Catrice Healthy Look Mattifying Powder Translucent looks almost "boring" upon application, like I don't see any change on my makeup at all.  But this close-up photo will show you the difference.

Aside from it makes my face appears fairer (sorry I applied too much because I wanted to see results!  lol)  The overall effect that I can pinpoint is that, it blurs out lines around my face like a "Photoshop" tool, it brightens up my face giving that healthy-looking glow and luminousity that I want.

Most product/s that works for dry skin fails on the oil-control department, but this product is an exception!  It can instantly mattify areas that tend to oil-up (like my T-zone)  and according to my friend whom I let her try this product (with oily skin) says, it does hold oil up to 2-3 hours more than not applying any setting powder at all!

Not Bad!

This product goes to my makeup dresser wherein I always apply this after I finish my makeup application!  It just gives that burst of freshness that I've always been wanting!

Do you retouch with powder foundation or plain mattifying powder?

  1. Would love to try this out once I've finished with my Essence All About Matt powder. That one is good at mattifying, but gives a slightly white cast to my face. Hope this'll give me that glowy finish :D Buying it soon (I've already hit pan)! *eggzoited*

  2. I powder foundation caked on my oily skin so I retouch with mattyfying powder. Lately, I'm testing out "Jamsu" and I don't need to retouch as usual.
