Askmewhats Version: "Jessie Glova" look

Happy Tuesday people! :) I will take a rest from Work look but this is still a workable work look for everyone! I have tried the Jessie Glova 28pcs Neutral palette which is like the Coastal Scents 28pcs palette (thanks to Kim for the wonderful and quick shipping). I remembered one of my dear reader wanted me to do a neutral look that's focused more on mattes! This is the best palette to do a matte look and any other looks!

AMW Diagram

Step 1:

Prior to e/s application, I prime the eye with Fashion 21 Stick Eyeshadow Liner in Pearl. Blend using my fingers.

Using a flat shader brush, apply a matte cream e/s on the brow bone area going to the inner corner of the eye.

Step 2:

Using a crease brush (MAC's 226), apply a shimmery maroon e/s all over the outer corner of the eye. Blending it inwards.

Step 3:

Using the same brush, patte on matte black e/s on the outer v to deepen the look of the crease area.

Step 4:

Using my MAC's 217 brush or any blending brush, pat on shimmery brownish gold e/s on the center of the eye lid creating an illusion of a "bright eyed" look.

Step 5:

Line your upper lashline and lower lash line with Maybelline Eyestudio Vivid & Smooth Liner in Dark Purple blending it with my Smashbox's Pencil brush.

Do not forget to curl your lashes and apply 2 coats of mascara
using Maybelline's Volum' Express Cat Eyes in Feline Black

Final look :)

For the face:

Joppa Full Coverage Foundation
in Medium Light #2

buffed with Ecotools Kabuki Brush

For the cheeks:

Arezia Pinkish Blush
using Thevi Dome Blush 15

For the Lips:

NYX Round Lipstick in Jupiter
Shawill Gloss

Semi braid your hair, like a crown
and smile away!

I know I've been doing a lot of light and fresh looking makeup for the past few weeks! I'll be doing some request from readers for dark looks! Keep reading and I'll slowly do "most" of your requests! Thanks for being patient!

If you wonder how the Jessie Glova palette works, do watch out for my review on that palette as I'm still working my way creating different looks before I can do a final review! Again, thanks for being patient...I know..repetition....sign of old age! LOL

Keep smilin'
Stay happy!

Askmewhats Version: "Valentines Day" Look

A reader requested for a "Valentine's Day" look, I hope you like this :)

Valentine's Day...ahhh...Romance! I am actually a very romantic person, when I was 10yrs old, I read my first book "On Becoming a Woman" lol and I've read those Sweet Dreams pocketbooks and imagine my "knight in shining armor"... don't even say I'm corny, I'm sure everyone out there has their fair share of imagination! lol Admit it! :P

Anyways, I'm sure a lot of you have your own version of Valentine's Day look, I still have a lot on mind but hot pinks really should be part of the look! lol And colored lippie for that sexy pucker! :P
Here's my final look!

My Askmewhats Diagram :D
(I tried making it as simple as possible)

Step 1:

Apply any base you want, UDPP/TFSI/MAC paintpots etc.. In this look, I used MAC Soft Ochre as base. Using a smaller e/s brush and my 78pcs Digital Angel palette LOL, pat on the "hottest pink" color you want on your lid going a little above the crease.

Step 2:

Deepen outer crease and create a V using a blending/crease brush. I used Milani Dark Chocolate e/s color. Blend well. Add the color as you go on.

Continuation of Step 2:

If you feel the color is too dark on your outer V, blend in with MAC Amber Lights to create a bit of gold-brown look.

Step 3:

Highlight the brow bone and inner corner of the eye with any highlighting powder that's 2 colors lighter than your skin.

Step 4 & 5:

Apply 4U2 Glitz liquid eyeliner on the lash line, going for your desired thickness. Since I cannot use liquid liner on my waterline, I applied Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Bourbon (almost same color as the liquid liner) on the waterline.

Coat your lashes with P&J Curly Mascara in 02 Brown after you curl your lashes with an eyelash curler.

Final eye look :)
Single or not, you can definitely rock this look!

Both eyes
Who says only boys make you happy?

Make-up can! hahaha

And here are other products I've used
on the rest of my face!

Skin79 VIP Gold Collection BB Cream
Ellana Intensive Foundation in French Vanilla
using my ultimate fave EDM Flat Top Brush

Arezia blush in Pink
(I am honestly using the 2nd layer of the palette more, love the blush colors!
The mosaic highlighter and the pressed powder)

Apply moisturizer all over lips, I use Kiehl's No. 1 Lip balm
Top with 4U2 Instinct Matte Lipstick in 05

Flirt and you'll have your Valentine date :P
If you have special someone

Flirt ONLY to him lol!

Have a great Valentine's Day!
I personally think Valentine's should NOT only be the day of flowers and chocolates!

Make everyday a sweet romantic day ok?

Stay sweet, stay happy, stay loved!

Askmewhats Reviews: Arezia MakeUp Kit

Ok, as promised, I will give an in-depth review on the Arezia MakeUP Kit. The reason why I bought this is because it was on Strawberrynet's easter sale (less 50%). The original price was $52.00 and I bought this for $26.00. I've got nothing to lose, the colors are really good and I've got different shades of each color! Whatever colors that I may need or use, then that's the time I will buy the color individually.

Here are the specs ---

MakeUp Kit AZ ( 36 Colours of Eyeshadow, 4x Blush, 3x Brow Powder, 2x Powder )

MakeUp Kit AZ 01205

( 36 Colours of Eyeshadow, 4x Blush 2.79g, 3x Brow Powder 1.98g, Pressed Powder 5.04g, Multi-Color Pressed Powder 5.8g )

Here's a crazy test on my Arezia e/s. (take note: no foundation, just a bit of powder. Blush on left and right cheek are not matched as I was testing 2 of the 4 blushes teehee) Talk about excitement to do some tests. Honestly, if i have more than 1 set of eyes, I'll test all the e/s colors at once!!! To show you guys the color pay off! hehehe

DARN, this looks soooo April fools! I should have gotten this palette earlier and go to work looking like this...whatcha think? hahaha

And here's my cute sister-in-law Grace for her first modeling stint hehehe (spare the 80's hair)

Arezia says ----

UHM..... NOTHING? Oh yeah! they said something...

IDEAL FOR BOTH PERSONAL USE AND AS A GIFT (doh!)

Askmewhats says ---

For the retail price of $52.00, so not worth it! But for a sale price of $26.00 I would say it's ok. Let me break down to you guys what I have to say, I've got lots to say but I just don't know where or how to start hekhekhek

Pros
  • For first timers, you've got a lot of variety of colors to choose from without breaking the bank
  • The e/s, oh, is just funny, the e/s is as big as the MAC small e/s. And the color was like divided into 3, so you'd think you'll use it all up easily? Hell NO! I've packed colors after colors after colors and so far, it didn't even looked like I've used it! Picture ABOVE for proof (the one that I'm pointing the color?) I think this is unlimited shadows in a palette! hahaha
  • The blushes are ok, you've got choices of Baby Pink, Peachy Pink, Reddish Pink and browns.
  • The brow powders are ok as well, you've got the black one (for eyelining), the gray and brown ones to fill in those brows!
  • My favorite would be the "mosaic" powder, it gives a good kinda glow to your face. I tested on the reddish blush and it looks too strong, but when I topped it off with a mosaic shimmer powder, it looks so natural
  • The pallet looks super NICE and i can't help but take a look at it again and again, MIRROR is big enough for you to see your whole face!

Cons

  • The 36 color e/s....oh...you li'l colors...felt a bit like...chalk? hehehe I have to scrape it on my brush again and again to pack the colors in my brush. You know this gets me confused, I hate that I have to pack it again and again, but after doing so, the color payoff isn't bad at all! So it could be a love and hate relationship between me and the shadows
  • The glittery part of the shadows are BAD! The glitters are too big and you have them scattered all around your cheek and nose when you applied it on your eyes! (Down glitter, Stay, Sit! Don't move...goooooddd boooyyy!)
  • The mini brush applicator included or not only BAD...just THROW them out please! Not even worth keeping it. Keep the powder applicator though. (it's generic but useable)
Tips
  • Apply the shadow with a primer like UDPP or MAC
  • Want the color to show better? Use a creamy off-white or beigy color as base, I tried it and it works nicely
  • To sexify the whole look, use the Shimmery Mosaic powder and brush it all over your face including your eyes (so it doesn't look too crayonish)
Will I repurchase? No, this is enough to last a year! hahaha

Your askmewhats,
Nikki
