Askmewhats Version: "Valentines Day" Look

A reader requested for a "Valentine's Day" look, I hope you like this :)

Valentine's Day...ahhh...Romance! I am actually a very romantic person, when I was 10yrs old, I read my first book "On Becoming a Woman" lol and I've read those Sweet Dreams pocketbooks and imagine my "knight in shining armor"... don't even say I'm corny, I'm sure everyone out there has their fair share of imagination! lol Admit it! :P

Anyways, I'm sure a lot of you have your own version of Valentine's Day look, I still have a lot on mind but hot pinks really should be part of the look! lol And colored lippie for that sexy pucker! :P
Here's my final look!

My Askmewhats Diagram :D
(I tried making it as simple as possible)

Step 1:

Apply any base you want, UDPP/TFSI/MAC paintpots etc.. In this look, I used MAC Soft Ochre as base. Using a smaller e/s brush and my 78pcs Digital Angel palette LOL, pat on the "hottest pink" color you want on your lid going a little above the crease.

Step 2:

Deepen outer crease and create a V using a blending/crease brush. I used Milani Dark Chocolate e/s color. Blend well. Add the color as you go on.

Continuation of Step 2:

If you feel the color is too dark on your outer V, blend in with MAC Amber Lights to create a bit of gold-brown look.

Step 3:

Highlight the brow bone and inner corner of the eye with any highlighting powder that's 2 colors lighter than your skin.

Step 4 & 5:

Apply 4U2 Glitz liquid eyeliner on the lash line, going for your desired thickness. Since I cannot use liquid liner on my waterline, I applied Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Bourbon (almost same color as the liquid liner) on the waterline.

Coat your lashes with P&J Curly Mascara in 02 Brown after you curl your lashes with an eyelash curler.

Final eye look :)
Single or not, you can definitely rock this look!

Both eyes
Who says only boys make you happy?

Make-up can! hahaha

And here are other products I've used
on the rest of my face!

Skin79 VIP Gold Collection BB Cream
Ellana Intensive Foundation in French Vanilla
using my ultimate fave EDM Flat Top Brush

Arezia blush in Pink
(I am honestly using the 2nd layer of the palette more, love the blush colors!
The mosaic highlighter and the pressed powder)

Apply moisturizer all over lips, I use Kiehl's No. 1 Lip balm
Top with 4U2 Instinct Matte Lipstick in 05

Flirt and you'll have your Valentine date :P
If you have special someone

Flirt ONLY to him lol!

Have a great Valentine's Day!
I personally think Valentine's should NOT only be the day of flowers and chocolates!

Make everyday a sweet romantic day ok?

Stay sweet, stay happy, stay loved!

Askmewhats Reviews: 4U2 Glitz Liquid Eye Liner

4U2 cosmetics is made in Thailand. I've seen them last year available at some malls like SM Megamall, or Watson's. I've been so intrigued with their packaging and the variation of colors available but nothing caught my eye except their lipsticks.

But a couple of days ago, I saw a new collection from them called GLITZ. It's more of a party-look collection and they got glittery eyeliners, mascaras available for the party girl!

I've been into colored liners and I can't help but test out all the eyeliners they have available and swatch it on my hand! :) I got home and the swatch are still in-tact, no smudging!

Top to bottom: Blue, Brown, Black, Green, Gold, Violet/Purple

Based on swatch, I came up with an amateur review on these ---

1. Blue - this is the least pigmented among all, I have to swipe it 2-3 x to get the color, and this is the first one who faded out of the 6 colors

2. Brown - the color looks like CS Truffle with glitters, pigmentation is ok but have to swipe it 2x to get the "swatch" color

3. Black - a very pretty color, pigmentation is good and I am now wondering why I didn't purchase this!

4. Green - pigmentation is good, the color looks wonderful, this color will look great on dark eyes! It'll definitely pop!

5. Gold - my favorite! If I didn't purchase 24k gel liner from the Coastal Scents, I will definitely purchase this in a heartbeat, the most pigmented of all, looks fabulous!!!!

6. Purple/Violet - this looks like "black" on a first swipe. It's more of a deep plum color.

And I purchased Brown because I seldom use glittery liners, I am more of a matte liner user and I want to see if I'll change my mind before I purchase the rest of the colors.

4U2 Glitz Liquid Eyeliner says ---

Ingredients:
Aqua, Acrylate Copolymer, Propylene Glycol, anthan Gum, methylparaben, Propylparaben, Tocopheryl Acetage

Manufactured by : Colorcos Co., Ltd. Thailand under license from Bel*Air USA Cosmetics.

Askmewhats says ---

Pros
  • color is very pretty and looks natural
  • stays and doesn't smudge on me
  • easy to remove
  • does not hurt the eye, no burning sensation
  • brush is perfect, very sharp so easy to create a thin line
  • the shimmer isn't outrageous, it doesn't fall off to your eye.
  • tears test: I cried when I went to the temple and holy guacamole with the SMOKE! I was in tears and I was so scared I'll look like a Brown Panda, well the liner lightened, but it didn't smudge.
Cons
  • for super oily lids, though this is waterproof, this may still smudge on them
  • website is not updated, you can't see much information about their products online
  • if you're in tears: the liner will be washed out and GONE
Overall

If you are new with liquid liner, this is a perfect way to try this as the brush tip is short and the handle is short too, which makes application in front of a mirror a breeze. I think some would say this is such a small product, I actually like it this way as I can finish up this product and use it all without wastage. The packaging is really nice and compact, easy to take along anywhere and it looks fab to be part of your make up kit! :)

Tips
  • apply gently using short strokes to create a precise line.
  • if you accidentally poke your eye with this (I hope not), rinse your eye gently with warm water.
  • if you're using a liquid liner for the first time, you can apply a line using a pencil and top it with a glitter liner, works really well.
Will I repurchase?

Yes!

Where can you purchase and how much?

At selected SM department stores or Watsons. Php234.00 (approx $5.00)

Size as compared to Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara

A close up look on the brush

Swatch on both Natural and with Flash
Applied thin and thick

If you're wondering why you haven't heard any complaints from me on "Monday blues", well... I don't have it!!! Not because I'm mature and all LOL It's because I work for a company that follows Chinese Holidays, I don't have work for a week! So it's perfect timing for me to prepare my class for the upcoming Make-up Seminar! So to those attendees, can't wait to see you all!

Wish me luck!
Stay Happy!

Askmewhats Version: "Stila Marrakesh" Look

When I got the Stila Marrakesh Quad from Anne of Yummmiebitez, it turned out to be my favorite e/s I've been reaching out every morning for a nice office look!

I love it for it's simplicity and I love it's staying power and versatility. Here's one of the look I've created using this quad.

"Simplicity is beauty...Beauty IS Simplicity"

Here's a diagram on how I came up with the look

Step 1:

After applying MAC Soft Ochre paintpot all over lids, using my CS Pink Fluff e/s brush, apply using patting motion the pinkish color or use any shimmery pink color on the inner 3/4 of the eyes.

Step 2:

Using MAC 217 brush or any blending brush, use the darkest color from the quad and apply it over the crease area blending harsh lines.

Step 3:

Using a small blending brush, apply MAC Carbon on the outer-v for depth.

Step 4:

Using a big fluff brush from Coastal Scents, apply Paul & Joe Face color powder no. 043 on the browbone and inner corner of the eye for highlights. You can choose any e/s color closest to your skin tone.

Step 5:

Line the lashline using my newly purchased 4U2 GLITZ Liquid Liner in Brown. It's a very natural shimmery brown colored liquid liner. (I will review this product soon)

Step 6:

Using Coastal Scents Gel Liner in Truffle and a White Angled Liner brush, apply gently on the water line, top it with Urban Decay 24/7 glide-on eyeliner pencil in Bourbon.
Step 7:

Apply Urban Decay 24/7 glide-on eyeliner pencil in Yeyo near the tear duct for a bright-eyed look.

And here's the final result :D
(sorry no mascara used on this FOTD, LAZY! lol)

Other products used for the rest of the face

MAC Studio Fix Liquid Foundation in NC30 mixed with
The Face Shop's Flower Silky Foundation in NB21
applied all over face using MAC 187 brush
(I have to mix it as NC30 looks dark and yellowish on me!!! Wrong choice of color! My bad)

Using CHARM Angled Blush Brush,
apply Revlon in Blush on the cheek area

Highlight using EYEKO 5-in-1 e/s

In2it lipstick in Fresco

FOTD :D

This is how I usually go in the morning,
but instead of liquid foundation, I use Mineral Foundation :D

And that's how my new hair color looks like! :)
In case you're wondering! lol
Have a great weekend!!!
I will be announcing the Askmewhats 1 year anniversary contest winner tomorrow!
Goodluck!
Stay Happy!

Askmewhats Version: Christmas Red & Green Look

Hi everyone!!!
A couple of days ago, I did a very simple Christmas-y look called Holiday Green and White
I enjoyed doing the Christmas look and I did say I will try to do more of these!
A dear blogger/friend Tine challenged me to do colors of Red and Green....
Tine, this look is definitely dedicated to you! :D

Here's what I came up with! Christmas Reds and Greens

A diagram on how I achieved the look

First things first, I prep my lids with Urban Decay Primer Potion

It's on a different jar because I've done a surgery to my original UDPP tube

Step 1:

Using a taklon brush, pat on Urban Decay Book of Shadow's Absinthe color on the lid area.

Using the same Takon Brush
Pat on Jesse's Girl Eye Dust in Green
on
top of the Absinthe e/s

Step 2:

Using MAC 217 brush, apply RED e/s from Coastal Scents' 78pcs palette on top of the green e/s.

Step 3:

Using the same MAC 217 brush, deepen your eyes by applying Milani's Storm e/s on the outer v.

Step 4:

Highlight brow bone and inner corner of the eye with Bourjois Beige Rose

And here's what I achieved!

Eyes Closed

And here's my total look
Yes, my hair is curled by a colleague
Using a flat iron
Thanks Shanna!

And here are more products used (not on diagram) ----

MAC NC35
using CHARM Retractable Kabuki Brush

MAC Coquette
to fill in brows

Cover Girl Lash Blast using Shu Uemura Curler
Stila SmudgePots in Black using CHARM eyeliner brush
Paul & Joe black liner for waterline

Coastal Scents 78pcs palette blush 2nd from left
A baby pink tone

4U2 Lipstick No. 7
topped with Artdeco limited edition lipgloss in Silver

Gosh! I looked so tired!
But I like doing this look! I enjoyed the brightness of red and greens blended together
creating a nice Christmas look!
It's Saturday my side of the world, will do some Christmas shopping!
What about you? Have you started shopping for your loved ones?
Start early!!! :D
