Good morning AMW friends! Today is another "This is How I Do it" series! I was asked by one of my reader how I usually do my makeup on a regular work-day! Well, since I work from home, I usually go "bare-faced" but on days I need to go somewhere for a quick event or meeting, here's how I create a look that I'm very comfortable with and I'm sure I still look like myself! (Hopefully, the better version! :P)

Tip for the Day: Base Makeup/Primers
Hello Askmewhats Readers!
I have a very good question asked by my reader a couple of weeks ago and I do apologize for taking such a long time to answer it. I tried putting it up on my "Reader's Corner" episode but the answer gets longer and longer so I've decided to make this a series.
I will answer the question in mini series so we tackle as much as we can! :) Yay?
Here's the question:
"What do I need to purchase to start up my make-up collection?"
Now you know why it took me weeks or months to answer this!!! This is one question that has so many answers!
Before I get to answer, here's a question that I need to ask YOU!
"Are you collecting makeup for yourself?
Or are you planning to be a professional make-up artist someday?" When I told myself I will start to spend my hard earn money on make-up, I knew I wanted to be a make-up artist so I made sure to buy the best of the best on what's out there, at the same time, making sure not to over spend. Here are just some of the tips at the back of my head, there's always a different version out there, but this is my version, I'm sure there's gazillions out there so feel free to share yours ok?
Today, I will start with
Foundation can be included under base makeup, but in this post, I will be mainly focusing on pre-foundation products. What must you purchase for yourself or others?
Before you purchase any makeup base/primer, you have to evaluate your skin or your clients' skin!
Dry Skin
If you are doing base makeup/primers to a client, do communicate with them and ask them if they have any allergic reactions to certain ingreidents or brands.
Here's a photo on the primers I currently own. I don't use them all on myself, but I use them on clients who are comfortable with primers.

Left to Right
Elizabeth Arden Good Morning Skin Serum (from Gracie)
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Light
Lancome Pure Focus T-zone (from Gracie)
P&J Protective Foundation Primer UV
Bare Naturals Make It Last Makeup Primer (from Shen)
P&J Moisturizing Foundation Primer 03
Do you use primers/makeup base everyday?
I don't! I let my skin breathe on most days! :)
I use primers on special occasions!
Share your thoughts my friends!
Keep smilin!
Stay Happy!

Before you purchase any makeup base/primer, you have to evaluate your skin or your clients' skin!
Dry Skin
- Sunblock
- a moisturizer meant for dry skin
- Primer: this may be skipped, if you have combination skin, you can applly primer only on areas that are oilier
- Sunblock
- Moisturizer - yes you still need them, apply a thin layer of moisturizer on oily areas and more on the less oily areas
- Oil control primer - to prevent the oilies
- Sunblock - blocking the sun to prevent further wrinkles
- Moisturizer - meant for aged skin
- Primer - to fill in the lines to have a good canvass to start up with your foundation
- Sunblock
- Moisturizer - you can check with your dermathologist for a good moisturizer meant for your sensitive skin. Better to use light and oil free moisturizer
- Treatment cream - from your dermatologist
- Corrective Primer (only if needed) - try not to use primers as much as possible, try to stay away from putting more products on to your skin especially if it's on treatment
- Sunblock
- Moisturizer
- Primer that has shade
If you are doing base makeup/primers to a client, do communicate with them and ask them if they have any allergic reactions to certain ingreidents or brands.

Below are the photo of BB Creams I currently own. Because of the craze, BB creams are considered as base makeup worldwide. Here's what I own, not a lot! But I'm happy with all of them!

Left to Right
Lioele Beyond the Solution BB Cream (from Zyra)

Askmewhats Version: "Valentines Day" Look
A reader requested for a "Valentine's Day" look, I hope you like this :)
Valentine's Day...ahhh...Romance! I am actually a very romantic person, when I was 10yrs old, I read my first book "On Becoming a Woman" lol and I've read those Sweet Dreams pocketbooks and imagine my "knight in shining armor"... don't even say I'm corny, I'm sure everyone out there has their fair share of imagination! lol Admit it! :P
Anyways, I'm sure a lot of you have your own version of Valentine's Day look, I still have a lot on mind but hot pinks really should be part of the look! lol And colored lippie for that sexy pucker! :P

My Askmewhats Diagram :D
(I tried making it as simple as possible)

Step 1:
Apply any base you want, UDPP/TFSI/MAC paintpots etc.. In this look, I used MAC Soft Ochre as base. Using a smaller e/s brush and my 78pcs Digital Angel palette LOL, pat on the "hottest pink" color you want on your lid going a little above the crease.

Final eye look :)
Single or not, you can definitely rock this look!

Both eyes
Who says only boys make you happy?
Make-up can! hahaha

And here are other products I've used
on the rest of my face!

Skin79 VIP Gold Collection BB Cream
Ellana Intensive Foundation in French Vanillausing my ultimate fave EDM Flat Top Brush

Arezia blush in Pink
(I am honestly using the 2nd layer of the palette more, love the blush colors!
The mosaic highlighter and the pressed powder)

Apply moisturizer all over lips, I use Kiehl's No. 1 Lip balm
Top with 4U2 Instinct Matte Lipstick in 05
Flirt and you'll have your Valentine date :P
If you have special someone
Flirt ONLY to him lol!

Have a great Valentine's Day!
I personally think Valentine's should NOT only be the day of flowers and chocolates!
Make everyday a sweet romantic day ok?
Stay sweet, stay happy, stay loved!

Continuation of Step 2:
If you feel the color is too dark on your outer V, blend in with MAC Amber Lights to create a bit of gold-brown look.

Step 3:
Highlight the brow bone and inner corner of the eye with any highlighting powder that's 2 colors lighter than your skin.
Step 4 & 5:
Apply 4U2 Glitz liquid eyeliner on the lash line, going for your desired thickness. Since I cannot use liquid liner on my waterline, I applied Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Bourbon (almost same color as the liquid liner) on the waterline.
Coat your lashes with P&J Curly Mascara in 02 Brown after you curl your lashes with an eyelash curler.

AMW Reviews: Skin79 VIP Gold Collection Super Beblesh Balm
Are you into BB Creams?
I know I am!
I told myself I won't fall into the hype, but gosh!
Since I got samples from Tine (Missha and SkinFood)
I got hooked to test on more!!!
Tine, I'm not saying you influenced me...well actually...uhm..YOU DID! lol
You've seen my previous review on the BRTC Cover BB Cream,
and one reader commented that BRTC Cover BB cream works as a concealer, it was actually a great comment, I tested on it again this time covering only on undereye circles and breakouts, but I would say, it works better if I apply it thinly over my face, as the coverage of BRTC Cover BB Cream is really light to medium.
I am drifting! hahaha Do not worry, I'll definitely do a Revisits as soon as I finish it.
SO.....
Let me continue, I told myself if I got more comparison on BB creams, I can shut up and go on with my bb cream-less life! :D
Introducing....
My Skin 79 VIP Gold Collection Super Beblesh Balm BB Cream (and it's not just BB Cream --- it's SUPER BB cream yawwww!!!)
My Skin 79 VIP Gold Collection Super Beblesh Balm BB Cream (and it's not just BB Cream --- it's SUPER BB cream yawwww!!!)

40g
Askmewhats says ---
Pros
Overall
I've done research as you all know before purchasing any of the BB creams available in the market. What caught my attention on this product is it's multi-tasking properties of ---
Whitening Moisturizing UV Protecting (both UVA and UVB) and Wrinkle improvement
If these are all true, ain't this the answer to all our prayers for busy women like us.
BUT of course...I have to say it again and again that not everyone has the same skin type, I have read some skin reacts negatively to this product while to some, it works so well on them. I find that looking for skincare / cosmetics is like winning a lottery.
I personally love this product, but I wouldn't say I NEED this, I can skip this step and proceed with my usual make-up application and achieve flawless skin.
How about coverage?
For people with heavy skin problem, this won't cover up scars or acne, after applying the BB cream, you would need an extra step of putting on a concealer. I would say the coverage is definitely Light to medium.
Tips
No, I have enough for now :)
Where can you purchase and how much?
I bought mine from a Korean ebay seller Vivihouse011 for Php969.64 (or $19.99) Free shipping + FREE GIFT! I love it that the free gift I got is what I originally want too! I've been going back on forth to try the pink or the gold edition. The extra Caviar in gold won my heart!

Pros
- has an airy light feeling when applied on skin
- brightened my skin in an unexplainable way
- moisturizes my dry skin, it really does
- has SPF!!!
- doesn't create a white cast on your face
- packaging: one of the prettiest packaging I've seen for BB creams
- I felt rich! I'm putting caviar on my face! lol
- The Name!!! Is BEBLESH ---- REALLY????
- for someone like me who's got dry skin, I find that in midday, I need to re-touch as there's this "moisture" that comes out of my skin. NOT oily-gross type but there's some extra moisture. Overall I would say no oil control (this product did not promise to work as oil control though, so not their fault)
- not available locally
- packaging: you cannot see if you still have enough product left
- I've used this again without moisturizer, it still gets to "oil" a bit in the middle of the day

Tips
- pump a small pea size amount of product and using your fingers, distribute it all over your face
- do not forget your neck area
- on days I want a lesser coverage, I use my MAC187 stippling brush to apply this bb cream, works just as well
- I found out that I do not need moisturizer if using this, to prevent skin oiliness

BB Cream Porn Time!!!I love it when I received it sealed and you have to peel off the sticker yourself

This is where the product would come out, have to clean it once in awhile

I do love the packaging!
It comes with a pump jar

Here's how it looks like on my hand A bit grayish to look at

If blended, its more on a pinkish tone

Further Blending, it blends so well that it doesn't look like I have anything on
