Meeting Ms. Cherry Pacheco Uy

As I gave you guys an update on how happy I was with the upcoming one-on-one meeting with Ms. Cherry Pacheco Uy of Paul & Joe. Time indeed flies so fast and I did met her last April 6th at her studio. It was super hot day (you can see in my pix below on my before shot).

Anyways, I don't know what to expect, but I expected to enjoy the learning experience and what can I lose right?

What I love about the meeting with Ms. Cherry is how hospitable she is, how friendly and down-to earth she is. In my dictionary, and to others, she is already successful make-up artist and stylist and she contributed quite a lot in the industry, but never did it get into her head.

So anyways, I learned a whole lot of tips and I like how she did half of my face and let me finish the other half to "check" if I really understood everything. Here's a before and after shot I want to share to you guys. (sorry, the before shot looked like a mug shot hehehe (it is SUPER HOT you know! excuses excuses..hehehe) And oh, before I forgot, I love the make-over so much that I used the pix as my profile pix! :D

Me and Ms. Cherry...

Me and my "sweetie" ...he was super kind and waited for me to finish the whole session! :) I bet he learned a couple of make-up tips as well eh?

I will incorporate some of those tips that Ms. Cherry taught me and you'll see it as we go on. I love the make-over (though the closer look in the pix would see that my left and right eye doesn't match, we used dark green and dark blue shadows heheheh)

Anyways, to Ms. Cherry, thanks so much for your time!!! I really appreciate it from the bottom of my heart :)

Askmewhats Version: "Formal Affairs" Eyes

I've always wanted a look that I can do when I'll be attending a formal function, but I don't want to look too made up! I've practiced a lot and from all the tips I got from reading, from watching and from asking, I've finally put up one eye look that I really like (sorry it was really bad lighting, I always take shots nighttime and lighting is not too good and sufficient).

Here's how it looks like close up, one eye...

Products I've used:
  1. UDPP (Urban Decay Potion Primer)
  2. Cream white eyeshadow (as base)
  3. In2It E/S (I had a review on this one in my previous post)
  4. MAC e/s in Coquette
  5. Black eyeliner

Eyes Closed (no Flash)

I finished up with a nice "formal" drop earrings and hair pulled low with a bit of curls. (and I'm only wearing a tee...tsk tsk tsk)

I know I know...I should have put an "open eyed" photo! Stupid of me I forgot about it and removed all my make up before I remembered! Anyways, I'll get better next time! Promise!

Tag: All About Hair

Nanzy!!! Thanks for the tag, and I'm dead on hair addict aside from make-up junkie, so this is a right-timing and good tag :D You made me think, really deeply! hehehe Read on and see who I'm tagging ! :D

My story:

Before I got addicted to make-up, I am super addicted to hair. I've tried different brands of shampoo, conditioners, hair treatment so I think this is a right tag for me. I've had my hair rebonded before and I've had my hair colored. So this hair I've got ain't "virgin" no more :D

Length: Long, layered (longest part would be below the bra strap)
Type: Straight, easy to style without products needed
Condition: manageable, but there are a lot of bad hair days
Color: Brown

Favorite Shampoo & Conditioner:

~Changpo Magic Straight Shampoo and Conditioner (From the Face Shop)
this is the Korean brand that I've been raving about!!! It's always ALWAYS out of stock and I can't help but stock on this as well

~L'oreal Elvive Shampoo and Conditioner
this was the 2nd one I've used when Changpo was out of stock. Surprisingly, my hair is still soft and manageable and it didn't dried out my hair like others

Favorite Deep Conditioner:

~L'oreal Professional Vitamino Color
~L'oreal Professional Absolut Repair
~Biolage Matrix
~David's Salon Moisture Masque (available Locally)
~Lux Intensive treatment conditioner
~Wella Biotouch Cream

Yes, told you guys, I'm a sucker for anything that makes my hair beautiful! I've used a whole lot more but I forgot most of them :D

Favorite Leave in Conditioner:
~Lux (sorry forgot the exact name)
~Pantene Pro-V Leave-in Conditioner
~Changpo Magic Straight Gloss Serum

Favorite Hair Spray:

I'm not into hair spray! I did told you guys that my hair is so supportive of whatever styles I want with not much products needed :D

So, this would be an exciting part, my turn on tagging :D

My Semi-Pro Make-up Traincase

Everyone knows I am serious with make-up and I am serious in make-up learning. My birthday train case is my personal train case and I want something bigger as my make-up collection is growing as well. I don't want to break the bank, so I did my research and finally saw THE ONE :D

It is quite difficult to buy a train case especially through multiply because you can't see and touch the product, and for this case...I want to see and I want to touch the product before buying. I am glad I've found a good supplier who was nice enough to show me the train case without the pressure of buying. I met up with her at St. Luke's Hospital (hahaha what a nice place to meet huh?) Well she's an in-house doctor and she is into make-up! hehehe Anyways, I met up with her and I fell in love with the case and bought it on spot!

Here's how the insides look like :D

I will give her contact details tru email if needed. I bought this for Php 1,650 ($37.50 approx)

With regards to taking care of your traincase and how to make sure it remains clean, I'll give a separate post on it and you'll be surprise the things I do for stuffs I love! hahaha

Enjoy!

Askmewhats Version: Smokey Eyes

Ok, when you read through my blogs, you'll know that I'm not into dark colors or "smokey" and you would never see me sport a "smokey" look. Let me tell you why.

I've got dark bags and there are some "really good" days that I'll get puffy eyes! So as much as possible, I stear clear on dark shadows which will make me look like a raccoon who cried the whole night looking for...FOOD? hahaha

Anyways, IF I wanted to be a make-up artist, I have to steer clear from the safe side and go practice whatever I needed to. Since I don't have anybody's face to practice to after work and I can't seem to force my husband to let me use his face! hahahha I have to do it on my own! :) And so far...I'm proud of it! Even my hubby who hates dark shadows commented that he loves the look! FEISTY!

Here's my right eye...

And my left eye....

PROMISE, they match in person! hahaha
(spot Mr. M&M) come on, you guys can see him (clue: upper left) hahaha

Good job! You guys spotted the M&M! hehehe..anyways back to the topic,
here's me, no flash, eyes opened!

and here's me with flash...
