Askmewhats Makeover: TOTAL Makeover

The day was a total makeover day for Grace, she requested for a bangs cut, then she decided to have a total cut! I cut 2 inches off her hair and restyled the layers. She looked younger with her bangs but I kinda made her up with an "older" look and so far, she was able to pull it off! She's 17 yrs old by the way, and I love how she's open for ANYTHING! :)

Thanks Gracie dear for the lovely makeover day!

Here's Grace before

And here's Grace AFTER!

A closer look on her eyes...

Another pix of a happy Gracie :)

Comments? Suggestions? I'm open to hear! :)

Taking Care of My Traincase

Aside from taking care of your make-up tools, products, I believe it is also important to take care of your make-up cases, in my case, my traincase!

We ladies are lazy to take care of our make-up cases and I don't know if you've seen it at the Tyra show how much bacteria a make-up case can have! I also want my beautiful cosmetics to be scratch free.

I bought a "non-slip" mat at a hardware store. I had it cut based on the shape of my case so I can easily wash it for any powder spills. Here's how it looks like....

**less than USD2.00 at Ace Hardware

AND! Here's another thing, I don't know you guys, but when my traincase is all filled up, I felt it is a bit too heavy and I always have this feeling that it will just open up and spill out all the contents and all my make-up will be GONE! (talk about craziness and paranoia eh?). I've been looking for a nice "belt" that I can use all over my case and here's what I've found at the hardware store as well.

** approx USD4.00-5.00 at Ace Hardware

It was packed for 2 as you can extend the belt, in my case, I need only one belt for my traincase and I can keep the other for back up. It's a velcro belt so easy to adjust.

Here's how my traincase looks like when I'm traveling with it, Not bad! At least all my cosmetics are well protected.

How about you? What are the things you do the take care of your make-up? Spill it out and we'll all learn from each other :D

Askmewhats Makeover: "Day Time Blues"

Bea is such a lovely girl and she's so into make-up just like me. I love how she gives me feedbacks on each application and products I've used so that helps me out with the effect of each product on different types of people.

Whatever products I've been using for myself, I also used it to others as it is a rule of a thumb for me to make sure to test the products on myself first before I use it for others.

Anyways, it's just intriguing to see how the exact same product would react different to me and to others. So I make it a point to rely on feedbacks for reference and test the product on ourselves before we purchase anything.

Hahaha, I've been blabbing too much, I know.... Here's another look I've done... I call this the "daytime blues"...

Sorry, the picture came out to be just bluish thingy, but in personal, it is more vibrant and there's a hint of yellow on the crease as well.

Love it? Hate it? Tell me what you think! (but please do it gently and don't break my heart!)

Your askmewhats,
Nikki

Another Makeover Day! :)

Bea, will be one of my model for my upcoming portfolio shoot this coming April 26th :) So given the chance to practice, I always will. The challenge I encounter with Bea is that she's got combination skin, really oily t-zone and I meant oily that even putting on a primer doesn't help much! hahaha Anyways, she's also acidic so I have to be careful with the foundation I'm putting on. I mixed a bit with about 1 tone lighter than her skin and in her t-zone, I've used a foundation shade 2 shades lighter as it all toned down to a really glowy yet dewy look. Here's a hot on her before an after.

What I've used (for eyes):
1. UDPP
2. VOV beige as base
3. L'oreal moss green
4. Kate shimmery off white color as highlight
5. Stila Smudge Pots Gel Liner in Black

I will try on more looks on her soon! :)
