UDPP vs L'oreal DeCrease

(Note: This review is based on my own experience, considering my skin condition and environment I am in, these products may act differently on others)

I got my L'oreal Decrease from my lovely friend Nabi because she knew I am so intrigued by it! Though I've been using UDPP for quite some time, I've always been wanting to try L'oreal Decrease because it has caught a lot of commotion in beauty blogging world when it first hit the market.

I, the self proclaimed "product junkie" gave this a road test.

Nikki's crease - not too oily and not too dry

Eye make-up used - Joppa mmu (mineral make-up)

How long? 13 hours +
Environment - airconditioned office

Situation

I did the usual eye make-up routine at around 6:45am, got home and took photos at 8:00pm. Tried both base on 2 separate days. The eye make up I did are both neutral and a bit different (in application) on both days but I used the same Joppa Mineral eyeshadow for both experiments.

L'oreal DeCrease

Pros
  • creamy - makes it easier to blend the eyeshadow
  • cheaper
  • I like the applicator (softer)
Cons
  • held up only upto 4 hours
  • not available in the Philippines

UDPP

Pros
  • my eye make up held for 8 hours straight, I started to see slight creasing after more than 8 hours
  • colorless, so it doesn't show up under your eye make up
Cons
  • not available in the Philippines
  • I have to cut it in several halves to get most from the product!
  • There are days I find it hard to blend my eye make-up I think it's because I have non-oily lids to start with
Before I end this post, what's a review without photos?
Here we go, let's be considerate though....
I've tested this for more than 12 hours!
But here's the result!

As seen on photo above, the eye make up on the crease area got melted away
An ugly line of shadow showed up :(

How did UDPP faired after more than 12 hours?

As I stated above, it started to crease a bit after 8 hours.
It isn't that obvious though!

Overall, I think I will still go for my trusty UDPP. But I have read L'oreal Decrease works for other people. I will still use my L'oreal Decrease on days that I know I won't be out for more than 5 hours. If I'll be going somewhere extra special and I need to party and show some 'booty, then I have to use UDPP.

A lot of people say: "To See is to Believe" and I want to add mine....
"To Believe is to USE" lol

I hope this review helps! Take care!!!
Smile and be "Crease-Free"!!!

Milani : How to Depot and Swatches

Milani is one of the few brands I wished we have here in the Philippines. I have bought Milani e/s through a friend in the USA, gift from lovely friend from Malaysia, and now, Digital Angel completed my Milani collection! Milani, please don't come out with more colors! It is hard to "want" something unreachable 'ya know! :D

Anyways, I have to apologize that I depotted all my Milani e/s before I realized I haven't taken a shot of them "beautifully". :( Sorry!!! So I found these Milani e/s photos from the stuffs I got from Nabi!

Let us start with the swatches first!
These are swatched once NO BASE

1. Milani Illusion 03
2. Milani Blue Ice 14
3. Milani Shock 15
4. Milani Sheer Sand 22

And! Of course, the best way to carry around your single shadows is to have them depotted and have them in a nice palette. Let me show you how simple it is to depot a Milani e/s. I personally think this is easier than depotting MAC e/s .

Step 1: Peel off the sticker. You will find a hole.

Step 2: Leave the pan half open, using a mini screwdriver, slowly push the pan upwards holding the rest of the pan firmly. You have to exert some energy on this one!

Step 3: Pull out the pan, some pans have too much glue on it, so it gets sticky!

Step 4: One way to clean it is to use an Alcohol. Wet your cotton with ample amount of alcohol, rubbing the glue SLOWLY. It takes time

Step 5: Cut the magnet into smaller squares. I bought mine at Ace Hardware for Php69.75 (approx $1.50)
The squares are quite big, so cut them in smaller squares

Step 6: Stick them a any pan that fits the Milani e/s. MAC Pro Palette and ELF palette are both ok. I've used my ELF 4pan e/s palette to create my own QUAD! VOILA!!!

Now now, I have created my own Quad!
I will definitely bring this with me on my upcoming trip next week!!
Have you used Milani e/s?
How'd you like them?

What Kind of Butterfly Am I?

Digital Angel asks us "What Kind Of Butterfly Are You?" So I thought of shooting 2 birds in one stone.

I planned on doing my version of a "butterfly" look and use the 78pcs palette she gave me! Thanks again for the palette, I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!
Here's my inspiration

Let me do a diagram first

Products Used ---

1. 78pcs Palette's Green (inner corner of the eye - up and down)

2. 78pcs Palette's Shimmery Yellow (middle area of the eye)

3. 78pcs Palette's Dark Brown (outer v, blend blend blend)

4. Shimmery white (sorry forgot to take a shot) - as highlighter
Not shown on diagram ---
  • Stila Smudgepots in Black
  • Paul & Joe Curly Mascara in Black

And here's my version of a "Green, Yellow and Brown" Butterfly

Side by Side comparison :)

I honestly enjoy doing inspiration looks!
I enjoyed using my 78pcs palette!
I want to thank my readers who have "Cyber Hugged" me!
SMILE!!!!

Askmewhats Reviews: CoverGirl WetSlicks AmazeMint in Toast-ed

As seen in my previous post, I won this CG Wet Slicks Amaze Mint together with other cool stuffs. I've given this product a try the moment I received this. I've been using this for more than a week. Meaning, right time to give this baby a review.

Here's how the product looks.
Physical check, you'll think this is too brownish and dark.

If swatched, here's now it looks like, brown with peachy tone

CG says ---

CoverGirl Wetslicks Amazemint isn't just a lipgloss, it's a smile treatment! Crest Peppermint Oil provides a minty breath sensation while the gloss itself gives a dazzling high-shine without all that "sticky".

  • With Crest Peppermint Oil
  • Brightens your smile
  • Feels like a balm
  • Lasting high-shine
Askmewhats says ---

Pros
  • non-sticky, again using the "kiss hubby" test *winks* I love testing lip products! LOL
  • non-drying
  • lasts approx. 3 hours of continuous talking, drank 2x (for me, this is already good for a gloss)
  • packaging is just right, not too big or too small
  • I love the minty feeling, it definitely feels like a balm
Cons
  • it has minty PLUS chocolate-y flavor and scent. I find the chocolate scent OK but after continuous usage, and on "not so good" days, this bothers me
  • I don't think we have it available here locally (correct me if I'm wrong)
Overall

This is a cool gloss because of it's Peppermint oil, it soothes my dry lips and I find the color really pretty and flattering. I tested this to my friends and I would say it looks great on them as well. I like the fact that it is a gloss, it's not too dark, but it does cover the "lines" on my lips.

Photo of my lips using ONLY CG WetSlicks Amaze Mint in Toast-ed

Tips
  • though glosses are high shine, I still recommend to use your favorite lipbalm to protect your lips before putting anything else.
  • do not rub your lips together too much if you're using a gloss, will cause lipgloss build up <-- not a pretty sight

Will I repurchase?
Yes, IF this gets to be available here! I have seen their website and they have a couple of shades I would purchase!

Find this useful?
Send me a *hug*
I needed this, such a loooonggg week! :D
