Askmewhats Version: "Grayish Without Gray" Look

Hello all!

I've finally managed to play with my eyes, I've been super busy the past few days, meeting friends, buying gifts, doing chores..... It's time for me to relax!!! And relax time means playing with make-up! I love creating new looks, but the hate part? Make-up removing! LOL

Here's a look I came out with. I didn't use any gray but I like how it came out to be "silvery gray". <--- ON PHOTOS!!! (I guess it's because of the flash, my Laura Mercier Blue shadow has specks of silver.

Oh yeah, people are wondering what's the right spelling for the Color Gray/Grey. I've researched and Gray is American spelling, and Grey is British. And I've read that the original spelling of Grey is Grey and it evolved to Gray <-- Right or Wrong, it's still nice to know some extra info right?

Here's my final look

Here's how it looks like close up
Eyes open
Gosh, my lashes are non-existent!

Interested to know what products I've used?
Keep scrolling....

1. Apply Laura Mercier Blue Sky Eye Quad Aqua color with an eyeshadow brush using a light patting motion. Using a pencil liner, apply the same e/s below the lashline.

2. Using a blending brush, lightly sweet through any matte brown color (I've used L'oreal Hip in Foxy) on the crease area.

3. Using a smaller crease brush, apply the darkest color from the Laura Mercier Blue Sky Quad on the outer V. Blend blend blend with a larger blending brush. Re-apply if needed.

4. Highlight the browbone area and inner corner of the eye with the white shimmer e/s from K anebo PK-2

Askmewhats Reviews: Citre Shine Fresh Fusion Moisture Replenish Shampoo and Conditioner

I tried to love my Citre Shine Shampoo and Conditioner. I've given it a lot of chances to love, but it doesn't seem to love my hair :(

This review will be based solely on my opinion. So if you have positive feedback on this, great for you! :)

Citre Shine says ---

Infuse your hair with freshness! Quench thirsty hair with this moisture replenish shampoo that nourishes, hydrates and protects dry, brittle hair from further damage. Leaves hair restored and radiant. Citrus Vita-Actives: Triple-action shine technology with pure citrus extracts and multi-vitamins for brilliant shine and healthy-looking hair: strengthens and nourishes; ultimate shine reflection; lightweight, no build-up.

Askmewhats says ---

Pros
  • smells good
  • hair definitely feels softer, not sure about the shine department
  • affordable
  • definitely light-weight
Cons
  • gave me the dandruff :(
  • gave me the itchy scalp!
Overall

I believe this is a good product for people with oily hair. This combination is called to be Moisturizing and Replenishing but it dries up my scalp and flakes starts to show *gasp* Not a good sight!!!

Tips
  • test on any hair shampoo or conditioner for more than a week to see the results, as this work so well on me for the first week and after 2-3 weeks, I got the dandruff.
  • buy smaller size tube to prevent wastage, I honestly haven't seen a smaller version of this! Let me know!
Will I repurchase?

No

Where can you purchase and how much?

Any local beauty stores. PHp200++ (approx $4.50) per bottle

Oh yeah, I am NOT using this shampoo and conditioner for months now! :)
So don't worry, this set has been handed down to my mom,
who loves this by the way,
no dandruffs for her! :)

Any bad experience with a shampoo and conditioner?

Spill !!!

Askmewhats Reviews: Clinique's Moisture Surge Extra vs. Extended Thirsty Skin Relief

Happy Monday friends!:)
I will be doing a review on my Clinique's Moisture Surge EXTENDED Skin Relief Moisturizer. I will also be comparing this to the old version called Clinique Moisture Surge EXTRA Thirsty Skin Relief.

Interested? Read on...

Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief says ---

Enjoy rapid refreshment and a full 12 hours of soothing moisture with an addictive by-a-waterfall feel. Thank advanced hydration boosters and a new botonical blend that locks it in. Clinique Moisture Surge Extened Thirst Relief holds your skin's moisture in balance through stressful shifts in humidity, like steamy exteriors and interiors parched by air conditioning.

How to use:

Use daily for immediate moisture. For a midday boost, tap on over makeup. Or use as a 5-minute mask: Massage onto clean skin and blot off excess with a tissue.

Askmewhats says ---

Pros
  • hydrating
  • good for my sensitive skin, no allergies
  • no breakouts
  • absorbs quickly, doesn't have the oily feel, very light-weight
  • I don't have dry skin for more than 8 hours! Nice...
Cons
  • the packaging is still not the best
  • if you want the extra properties: no SPF, no anti-aging, just pure moisturizing
  • the product states that this can be used as mask: I can't do so, as it seeps into my skin too fast! lol Maybe my skin is just too dry. So could be CON but this doesn't act as a facial mask for me
Overall

Clinique's Moisture Surge Extra Thirsty Skin Relief is my HG moisturizer. That's why I panicked when I learned that they will be discontinuing this for something else. I was literally screaming : "Why would they do that?????" Well thank goodness for beauty blogs as I've read that Clinique upgraded it. They changed EXTRA to EXTENDED, not sure what's the point but I'm glad the product will still be there for me to purchase!

I had a chance to dip my hands on the Extended version when I finished up my Extra. Am I confusing you gals? lol I hope not. I was really keen on checking out the changes, the differences, everything! I found that the product works exactly the same! So I really can't tell the difference or maybe it's too early to tell.

Overall, it is still my HG moisturizer, I love it...I hope it won't change...

Tips
  • use this after your usual moisturizer, as this definitely is an "add on" you don't have to apply this all over your face if you have combination skin, I sometimes use this to pat on my "dry areas" especially after make-up
  • again, use a spatula instead of dipping your fingers to the whole jar and contaminate it
  • if you have combination skin, pat this to the dry areas only
Will I repurchase?

Yes!

Where to purchase and how much?

At the Duty Free Shop in the Philippines 75ml for $45.50

Now readers are interested with the difference between the old and new formula Here's side by side comparison. I've used FULL Size for both but I always transfer them to smaller jars for hygiene

Here's how the gel looks like for the old and new formula
The new formula is more "pinkish" in color

Texture wise: the new formula is a tiny bit "thicker" than the old formula
as seen on my hand

Is there a difference with the way both products perform?

Definitely NONE! I've been using the new formula and the effect and feel are the same as the old one. I wonder what's the difference between the 2. If someone used the 2 and saw a difference, do let me know! :)

Weekend Food Tripping at: Wonton and a Makeover

Good morning everyone! Or good evening to some of you!!!
Weekend food tripping is a day earlier! Remember my previous post on a "not so good" experience with a Chinese Restaurant? I wanted to give the hubby a great Yang Chow Fried Rice he deserves. So we decided to have a quick lunch at Wonton Restaurant.

Wonton Restaurant serves really good Chinese food at an affordable price. What I love about them is how fast the food are served :D When you're hungry, you want everything *snaps snaps* FAST!

Let me show you what we ordered and hopefully can make you gals jealous *winks* Of course I don't intend to do that, I just know how it feels to see food shots!!! My stomach will have the mind of its own *stomach grumbles*

Shrimp Puff
Php85.00 (approx $2.00)

3 pcs of Crispy Shrimp filling served with mayonnaise
I just can't eat too many of these, these may look small but it is filling!

Yang Chow Fried Rice
Php140.00 (approx $2.80)

Finally, a good Fried Rice!
Hubby is happy, I am happy! :D

Spicy Fried Squid
Php200.00 (approx $4.00)

This is our least favorite. It's not crunchy enough,
but, hungry stomachs can't complain. It's good but not the best!

Shrimp Wanton Noodle Soup
Php160.00 (approx $3.25)

The best!!!
The reason why we always go back to Wonton restaurant
is because of this noodle soup!!!
This is the best noodle soup served with the best shrimp balls!
We enjoy this with pepper and chili Yum!!!

Wonton Restaurant has a lot of branches, I can't seem to remember all but they have one at Wilson Street and 2 restaurants at Greenhills Shopping Center :D

------------------------------------------------------------

I also had another client for a makeover. I am really enjoying this as I am meeting new people each time!!!

I am glad to have the chance to work for Rica, a Lawyer, who will be attending a wedding party of her colleague. (gosh!!! A lot of people getting married before the end of the year!). Rica even before make-up looks pretty, what I did is ask her skin condition first, I learned that she's got combination of dry and oily skin. Mostly dry most of the time as her skin is always in an air-conditioned room.

Here's her Before Shot

And here's her After Shot

Products Used --- (as I remembered)

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Light (on cheek areas)
Cover Girl Advanced Radiance in Buff Beige
Paul & Joe Dual Powder Foundation No. 30
UDPP
Paul & Joe Eyebrow Pencil No. 2
MAC Coquette (to fill in brows)
MAC Amber Lights
L'oreal HIP in Brown
MAC Carbon
Stila Smudgepots in Black
Paul & Joe Curly Mascara
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Liner
NARS Orgasm
Kiehl's tinted Lip balm
The Face Shop Black Label Pot Gloss in Orange

I enjoyed the makeover so much because I got the chance to meet a new friend. Thanks Rica for the trust and for the lovely time. We chatted like we're long lost friends! Hope to see you again!!!

I went shopping too!!! And I bought gifts for friends and family!!!!
I'm not done with Christmas shopping yet!
AAaaccckkkkk....pressure! lol
I have another meet-up with College friends tonight!
What's your plan? Take care
