A couple of months ago, I've attended the Mineraux Launch and posted about their site being fully operational comes June! The month is July! As I took a peek at their site, I am so happy it's fully operational! Check out www.mineraux.com.ph!

My dear reader and turned out to be friend Nancy *waves hi!* messaged me and asked me about the Mineraux Foundation. A perfect way to answer her query by sharing this review to her and to everyone else! :)

Introducing

Warm Medium
Warm Medium-Tan
Olive Fair
Olive Medium
Olive Medium-Tan
Neutral Fair
Neutral Medium
Neutral Medium-Tan

Askmewhats says ---

Pros
  • Medium to full coverage, depending on your application
  • no allergies and doesn't irritate my skin
  • doesn't leave my dry skin drier
  • matte but at the same time exudes a nice "glow"
  • locally available
  • affordable as a little product goes a long way
  • evens out uneven skin tone
  • many shades to choose from
  • website: Uses real life photos, easier to check out the shades
  • website: easy to navigate and very easy to the eyes
Cons
  • if you have very oily skin, retouching is needed as I have dry skin but I see the sites of my nose oil up a bit after half a day
Overall

This is part of my daily mineral foundation rotation between Ellana (my favorite) and Joppa (another favorite), since I lightened up a bit due to the rainy season, I alternate Ellana and Mineraux Foundation because the shades are more matched!

Mineraux Skin Perfecting Mineral Foundation is definitely promising and it's a wonderful fact that it's a local brand. Though the products are sourced from suppliers in the US and Canada, it is nice to know that each product are chosen with the basis of Pinay needs!

I don't want to be quoted but I would compare the texture of the Mineraux Foundation to somewhat similar to Joppa Foundation. The same heavy coverage it can give with a very light feel! (this is my opinion)

With the price and cheap shipping rate as you purchase it locally, I think this is definitely something we can look into for our mineral needs :D

Did you know that?

I still love my Mineraux Beach Tan Bronzer!!! It's still reigning as my top fave blush!

Tips
  • always try on applying mineral foundation using various brush to find the right one, I prefer using my Ecotools Kabuki brush
  • to prevent "powder" look, spritz on Evian/Mac fix+ or Charged water on your face after buffing the mineral foundation
  • use a concealer brush, buff on the foundation to the taklon concealer brush and pat on spots --- VOILA! You have a mineral concealer!
Will I repurchase?

Not sure, I still have a lot left!

Where to purchase and how much?

At Mineraux website
10g jar: Php 330 (approx $6.90)
20g jar: Php 500 (approx $10.42)

Askmewhats Reviews: Inuovi Colours D36 in Lollipop

Great day everyone! How's the middle part of the week treating you? Me, I've been looking stressed the past few weeks because of some challenges that came my way, though I survived it, my face is still recovering and getting back to its LIFE! In times like these, the least cosmetics used on the face is the best option! So I've been using mostly blushes and lipsticks the past few days just to give myself a temporary face lift! Getting the right kind of "blush" and "glow" helps a lot!

I have been using iNuovi Colours D36 in Lollipop the past few days! So it's time for me to share what's on my mind for this "space aged" looking product :D

Inuovi Colours D36 says ---

Our top selling range of pressed pigment blusher that applies silky soft onto the skin for a beautiful and even finish. Enriched with natural UV filters and anti-ageing agents to protect the skin. Can be used as both blusher and eyeshadow. Available in an array of matte, shimmery and sparkling shades.

Net weight 3gms

Shades available in 24 shades

Ingredients
Talc, Mica, Nylon-12, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Lauroyl Lysine, Bis-diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Cetyl Dimethicone, Phenoxyethanol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Preservative, Colourant

How to apply

Swirl a brush across the color pan to pick up colors and apply to face or eye area

Askmewhats says ---

Pros

  • pigmented
  • natural looking
  • multi-functional, can be used as eyeshadow and blush
  • can be depotted and can fit an ELIANTO e/s palette
  • color looks very natural on cheeks
  • lasts quite sometime, no need to retouch too much
  • very soft on skin when applied, the pressed pigment is finely milled
  • I like it that this blush is not too matte and not too shimmery
Cons
  • not readily available locally! iNuovi, come to the Philippines please! :P
  • packaging! I had a hard time putting this inside the traincase! Too bulky

Overall

I love blush colors that looks natural! I like the "inner glow" instead of the "POW! Look at me! I'm wearing a blush" kind of cheeks!

Lollipop is such a sweet color, it's a peachy color with a very tiny hint of "shimmer" that's almost invisible to the eye but came out really soft and natural on photos!

Tips
  • apply this using a big fan brush for lighter glow and a blush brush for a nice "blush" on the apples of the cheeks
  • swirl once or twice, do not swirl too much as you don't need that much of a blusher!
  • depot this if you may to save up storage space
  • always make sure to apply powder or foundation all over face before applying blush to make the overall look neat
  • for fairer skin: Apply sparingly for a natural look, apply more to get a more dramatic blush
  • for darker skin: Apply more for the Lollipop shade to show up.
Will I repurchase?

YES! If I chance up their store again, I will definitely repurchase!

Where can you purchase and how much?

Askmewhats Reviews: Aladdin Pocket Wet Tissue

I am a clean freak! I make sure to use clean tools no matter how many people I do makeup for in a day! I started off spraying my brush with brush cleansers in between, the problem with it is that it's time consuming because I have to wait for a couple of minutes for the brushes to dry up!

Buying brush cleanser wipes on the other hand will make me poor as I use a lot of wipes in ONE gig! How can I save up? I've decided to go for wet wipes! Of course, there's always a requirement!
  • non drying
  • disinfectant
  • kills germs
  • inexpensive as compared to brush cleaner wipes
This is a review of a wipes that's not commercialized!

Aladdin Pocket Wet Tissue
In premium pack 70 sheets

and
Small Pack
in 20 sheets

Aladdin Pocket Wet Tissue says ---

It is a handy item for people who are always on the go. It can be used for removing dirt, or simply for cooling down. Aladdin Wet Tissues are safe to use and efficient in killing germs on the hands or body. It is also disinfectant which helps clean surfaces thoroughly. It also has antioxidant properties that help reduce the damage caused by free radicals.

Aladdin Wet Tissue contains:

Antibac - cleansing element designed to kill germs on the hands or body
Vitamin E - antioxidant that protects body tissue from damage caused by unstable substances
Aloe Vera - nutritional qualities and antioxidant properties
No Formaldehyde - cancer causing substance that is used to manufacture building materials and produce many household products.

Askmewhats says ---

Pros
  • no alcohol scent
  • vitamin E and aloe included is great for the skin!
  • the sheets are thick and NEVER tears
  • non-drying, if my dry skin itches, I use this to wipe to "soothe" my skin, it works (but this is only temporary)
  • cute packaging!
  • multi-functional, can be used to wipe skin, dirty area or even used to clean your brushes TEMPORARILY!
  • has manufactured date included, so you'll know if product is old or new

Cons
  • not readily available everywhere, have to order online
  • if you are into reading labels, you can only read this if you can read Korean :)
  • the small pack tissue gets a bit drying at the middle part of usage

Overall

I seriously feel that there's so many wipes out there, it is difficult to be loyal to one. What makes me drawn into the Aladdin wipes? The fragrance free and alcohol free factor! How can it clean or disinfect if it's alcohol-free? These wipes have anti-bacterial ingredients that can still kill germs MINUS the dryness. I seriously love the non-drying part of these wipes as compared to others! :D

I personally would like to purchase the big packs as it's more affordable plus it doesn't get dried up easily as the smaller pack. Bringing a huge pack takes up a lot of space in your bag though. I carry the big packs around for gigs and the smaller one for everyday use! :)

Tips

  • whatever packs you choose, always seal the sticker correctly to maintain the wipes' wetness

  • if you adore the product, do purchase them in wholesale for free shipping and free pack of wipes!
  • after wiping them on my hands, I also include wiping them on my elbows and arms! :D
  • I did say this can kill germs but do not use this all the time and forget to go to the faucet! LOL Washing your hands and stuffs with soap and water is still the best!
Will I repurchase?

Yes

Where can you purchase and how much?

Small Pack is Php40.00 (less than $1.00) / 20 sheets
Premium Pack is Php130 (approx $2.50) / 70 sheets
Can be purchased by clicking here

To show the size difference

Before using
Aladdin Wet Tissue

(you can click both photos to enlarge
and see the difference)

After

Unless you've got microscopic eyes, you won't see much difference but I do feel the soothing sensation of Aloe.

Any wipes you're using right now? Or you don't even bother to use any?
I am seriously an alcohol user! I have a small bottle in my bag! But having wipes once in awhile to wipe the public restroom and areas you feel that could have the most germs would be great! It's never bad to be cautious! :D

Stay Happy
Stay germ-free! :D

Nail Art Tutorial: "Dainty yet Funky" Nails

My nails had rested for a week! Its nice to let my nails breathe, but in truth, I didn't have the chance to do my nails as that was the last thing on my mind 2 weeks ago when my mom was at the hospital. So now things are looking up, I have the mood again to do my nails! And to start it off, my July nails started off simple, elegant yet FUNKY (colors used).

One reason I chose this nail color because I will be attending a wedding and I want to match my nail color and dress color! :) No, you don't need to match your dress and nail color! That's to clarify everything! hahaha

Here's my dainty and funky nails!

Step 1:

Do not forget to apply a basecoat before applying colored polishes to prevent your nails from yellowing. Apply 2 coats of San San Nail Polish in Blue.

Step 2:

Using a white 2 way nail art dotting pen. Create dots with tail! You can create flowers going to different directions on each fingernail. Do not forget the needle method to make the flowers more realistic!

Sample on different fingers :)

Step 3:

Apply rhinestones of your choice. I am using a pink rhinestone as it goes well with my base color.

Step 4:

Apply Caronia glitter silver polish on top of the nail art.

Step 5:
Apply your choice of top coat.

See? Everything looks easier! Do give it a try! Dots do create nice looking flowers and it pays to have nice looking nails! Someone came up to me while I was walking at the mall to tell me she likes my nails :D

Have a nice week ahead!
Keep smilin'

Stay Happy!
