Askmewhats Reviews: Jesse's Girl Tattoo Pen

Happy start of the week! Time has been flying too fast! And I can't keep track on what I plan to do and what I have done! LOL Am I the only one feeling this?

Thanks to all the lovely comments on my "I am a party girl" look, a lot of you have asked about the Jesse's Girl Tattoo Pen and finally! Here's my review!

Is it really a tattoo pen?
Does it stay for long?
Was it hard to remove?

I am sure those are the questions on your mind! Read on and I wish I'll be "Tattooed on Your Mind" *humming the song*

Jesse's Girl Tattoo Pen says ---
(got this info from Makeup Mix Shop)

Super-fine felt tip applies long-lasting color to lips and eyes!
Perfect as a eye or lip liner.
Color stays all day with no feathering or bleeding.

Askmewhats says ---

Pros

  • easy to do winged liner using this pen
  • inexpensive
  • very convenient to use especially for first time eyeliner users
  • can create the thinnest of all thin lines to a thicker line as desired
  • easy to remove with makeup wipes or makeup remover, does not require a lot of rubbing
  • it gives a dramatic effect as compared to pencil liners
  • does not irritate my eyes, I tried putting this around the lower lash line (note: NOT and NEVER the waterline!)
Cons
  • hard felt tip that's not friendly to the sensitive lids
  • for people who lives in warm, humid weather like mine, it does smudge, BUT A TINY BIT, in the middle of the day. The upper lashline didn't budge but it does transfer a bit of "smudge" on the lower eye area.

Drew swatches, waited for a couple of minutes
and rubbed gently with my dry fingers

  • because it's a pen, the ink gets lighter as you draw the line, needing to re-draw again and again on some areas.
  • not available locally
Overall

If you check out the Jesse's Girl site, you can see that the Tattoo Pens are included in the accessories category rather than the eye. I guess it just shows that the tattoo pen were made not only for eyelining but also to draw the face and body! That shows why they are available in different shades from black, henna, indigo blue, terracota and even violet! It is great for artists who plan to draw their arms or back for a temporary tattoo.

I bought the Jesse's Girl tattoo liner for the purpose of lining the bands of my falsies to make it more natural and doesn't shine on photos. For the sake of review, I've also used this to line my upper lashline and create and winged look. I still prefer my gel liners over this tattoo pen, but with it's price and it's convenience to use, I don't regret purchasing this!

I actually purchased 2, one in Henna, one in Black :)

Tips
  • use this pen to line the bands of your falsies (this works really well)
  • close the cap well, always make sure to hear the 'click' sound to prevent the liner from drying up
  • store it vertically so the "ink" won't get dried up during application
Will I repurchase?

Yes, still for the purpose of lining my falsies and for easier winged look

Where can you purchase and how much?

At Makeup Mix Shop for $2.99 (approx Php140.00) shipping NOT included
At the moment, the black is out of stock, you can message them on availability.

Here's a close up on how sharp
the felt tip liner is

The good thing?
So easy to create thin lines
to thick lines
depending on your preference!

As seen on my previous EOTD
I used Jesse's Girl Tattoo Pen in Black all the way
The upper lashline and the lower lashline
No irritations, eyes didn't turn red :)

This is overall a nice product. It's not a MUST for people who already own so much eyeliners but for starters who plan to give different eyeliner products a try, this is a "fool proof" way to line your eyes perfectly!

Any other tattoo liners out there ?
Give them a shoutout!
I love to learn more about it
Have a wonderful Monday!

How's the weekend friends? I've been busy the whole Saturday at the hospital, no, it's not me! But with my mom! She's having her check-ups, more blood exams and more ultrasound. They are very attentive with our needs and we are served with a smile! The place does look a bit intimidating but the prices are just mid-range, not too cheap yet not too pricey! You just have to order what you can eat though! Their servings are quite big :)

Appetizers!
Love everything!!!!
This actually made me full
even before I start the main dish!

Seafood Ramen

Askmewhats Version: "I am a Party Girl" Look

It's been awhile for another FOTD from me! For the past few days, I've been wearing mostly mineral foundation, eyeliner, blush and a lipstick. That's it! But a make-up whore will always be a make-up whore! I've created yet another look for a party! I have a reader emailing me asking me about a look she can do for a birthday party she will attend. She wanted something that says "I'm having a party! I am having fun!" look that's not too whorish! Here's my version!

I am ready to partey!

AMW diagram

Step 1:
Prior to eye makeup application, apply your favorite primer, I've applied UDPP on lids. If you will be off to party, make sure to prime your lids so that the dancing won't crease your eyemake up and make you look drunk and dirty :P

Pat on NYX single e/s in Red Bean on the crease area going a bit beyond. Using a pencil brush, apply this same color on the lower lash line too.

Step 2:
Using a smaller crease brush, pat on Ulta's galaxy e/s on the crease area ONLY. You can use any shimmery black e/s. You can start using a larger fluffy blending brush to blend all the colors together. Re-apply if needed.

Step 3:
Using MAC's Heatherette palette, apply Hoppin' on the browbone area and include the inner corner of the eye.

Step 4:
Line the upper lashline with Jesse's Girl tattoo pen in black.

Final Look :)

Do not forget to fill in your brows,
curl your lashes and
add up mascara!

Paul & Joe curly mascara 01
Shu Uemura eyelash curler
Clinique High Impact mascara

and what's on the rest of my face?

For the face

iNuovi LiteBase Founation in 3Y
using Mac's stippling brush
The Body Shop Mineral Foundation 02

Concealed my bags and spots
with MUFE concealer palette

For the cheeks

Paul & Joe Face Color B 002
Using Thevi's Dome Blush

For the lips

Clinique's Soft Shine Lipstick
in Creamy Nude

Now pull up your hair and go to party!

Hope you like the tutorial!
Feel free to comment or email me for any queries :)
Take care everyone!

I Wonder: "What's The Best Pencil Eyeliner for You?"

Happy Friday folks!!! :)

Gosh! It's flooded around here due to heavy rain! I do hope everyone out there will be safe!!!

Weekend! I will be leaving a question I've wanted to ask for so long. I myself have used a couple of "well known" supposedly...long lasting eye pencils! But do they really work for us?? For our country's unpredictable weather?

Before I share my reviews on eye pencils next week. I want to hear you out. What's the best eye pencil you've tried? And why do you think it's your favorite?

I know a teacher of mine from the school taught me that she's never comfortable using pencil alone without the eye sealant! But I'm still keeping my fingers crossed, who knows? There's an exception out there?

AMW (Askmewhats lol) requirements:
  • no budge
  • no smudge
  • water proof
  • not overly expensive
It's not a huge requirement right? lol
So spill in yours!

I'd love to know!

Keep smilin'

Stay happy

Beatrilicious is Back! So are Harem Pants!

Would you wear the Harem Pants trend?

After 10,000 years, Beatrilicious is back in contributing something to Askmewhats! I had so many things to share, so many thoughts in my mind I wanted to share for so long but I didn't have the time to sit and organize it all! But hey, it's better late than never, right?

Harem pants is like the MC Hammer pants we all knew back in the 90's. Just a trivia, MC Hammer was a famous rapper in the early 90's. I think he was a contemporary of Vanilla Ice, who popularized the infamous Ice Ice Baby! hahaha But if you aren't familiar with it, you can just imagine Princess Jasmine's outfit in the Disney animated movie Aladdin. It is often defined as "baggy pants which goes fitted at the ankle area, with side flaps on the hip that button at the waiste area". But this trend is taking a different direction now compared as seen in the Spring/Summer and Fall 2009 runway collections of several designers. Some celebrities have been caught with this trend. Are you brave enough to join the harem bandwagon?

Here are some tips in wearing harem pants should you decide to embrace the trend:

  1. Don't wear it with flats. It's best to wear them if you have gladiator heels or chunky heels.
  2. Don't pair it with a busy top such as those with ribbons, ruffles, etc. Stick to a basic and plain one because the attention has to be with the harem pants.
  3. Keep the top fitted to achieve a balanced look and to make it flattering.
Take the cue from Beyonce, Sienna Miller, and Dianne Kruger who were spotted wearing their harems.

With the recession, we all have to be practical in spending and be a certified recessionista! If we can get the same look for less, why splurge right? (I’m Nikki’s clone in being a princess of good buys! ) For all those readers living in the Philippines, I’m sharing a little secret of mine! You can raid your nearest SM Department Store, which has a wide variety of harem pants to choose from for only…. 599 pesos or around USD $12! It’s definitely a steal, right?! Here’s a picture for you to see what it lools like. Shanna also wore her harem pants she uncovered from her closet way before.

Thanks to Nikki for doing our Barbie pink inspired makeup

BIG THANKS to Ms. Sophia for taking our photos wholeheartedly using her ever reliable camera phone during our lunch break hahaha!

Some really can’t stand this trend and find it weird
while some can see themselves wearing one.
So the million dollar question is:

To wear or not to wear?

XOXO,
Beatrilicious
