Nail Art Tutorial: "Butterflies on Love and Chocolate" Nails

Black and Red, Red and White, Red and Green...those are some great combination! How about Red and Brown??? It works! I love combining colors that I never thought would look great! I'm glad I tried it and I'm glad it works! Here's my nails for the week! Butterflies on Love and Chocolates :)

AMW Nails for the Week

Step 1:

Using The Face Shop's RD001 or any bright red polish on your choice of nails. I've chosen to paint all the nails except the Pointer Fingernail and the Middle Fingernail. The rest, I've used Paul & Joe's 003 polish or any beautiful dark chocolate colored nail polish. Always remember to use a base coat for dark polishes.

Step 2:

Do a simple French Tip by alternating the shades used to paint the nails. You can click photos to enlarge. Do not worry about painting the skin as you can always remove them with a cotton bud with polish remover.

Step 3:

Create lines going in any direction with L.A. Color's Nail Art Deco in Gold.

Step 4:

Using my Prettynail's Nail Art Pen in white, draw a butterfly outline, see the yellow drawing I did. It's not a perfect butterfly shape but it's still ok for me :D If you can do better butterflies? Lucky you! :)

Step 5:

Fill in the butterfly wings with Yellow Nail Art Pen or you can use a regular polish with art brushes!

Step 6:

With LA Color's Art Deco in black or use any artist thin brush, line the middle portion to create the "body" of the butterfly.

Step 7:

Wait for the art to dry up, top with your favorite top coat. I am using The Face Shop's Top Coat.

Enjoy :D

Now, I've always been scared of drawing outside my comfort zone, I'm glad I did! If there are things you've been wanting to try but scared off? Go ahead!!! What's worse than failing? lol Nothing! We and and will still move on! :) That's a tip from an old lady ---> ME! lol

Watch out for another contest coming up soon! I am so excited as I love doing contests for stuffs I've used and love!

Keep smilin'
Stay happy!

Isn't it a beauty?

Yes, it is and it's mine!

This Set Bag is mine mine mine!

What's a set bag? A good friend of mine and a wonderful makeup artist Precious Medina gave a whole new meaning to what "set bags" are for! For someone like me, who at times need to juggle make up stuffs and hair stuffs, trust me, it's even worst than packing up for a trip! It's tedious, it's a big hassle, it's seriously mind and arm blowing, not to forget, everything's expensive so I hate it when I'm starting to lose stuffs!

Finally, someone answered my prayers...so deserves a Eureka moment for myself and for other makeup artists and hairstylist out there! Let's all say it together once again....A SET BAG!

Askmewhats Version: "Ruby & Millie" Eyes

Ruby & Millie? What's Ruby & Millie? I've never heard of this brand before til my dear blogger friend Gracie gave me the chance to try this! So far, I am very impressed! Pigmentation is good and colors are wonderful! The palette is super versatile.

This look is created using the Purple eyeshadow from the palette, it came out a bit black but I like the fact that it does not look black nor the name itself...Purple! It looks like there's a bit of everything, yes, deceiving to the eyes but that makes the eyeshadow mysterious! I like it when friends try to guess the eyeshadow shade I'm wearing!

Here's how I mambo and jambo with the
Ruby & Millie Palette

AMW Diagram

Step 1:

Prior to eyeshadow application, use any eyeshadow base of your choice, I've used MAC's Painterly Paintpot for this look.

Using Ruby & Millie's A Decade of Color Night Eyes, use a flat shader brush to pat on the Purple color on the crease area.

Step 2:

Using a blending brush, I swiped on MAC's Heatherette Trio in Hopping, the light pink color to blend in the harshline from the Purple eyeshadow.

Step 3:

Using the white portion of the Maybelline eyeshadow quad, apply the browbone area to create a "pop".

Step 4:

Line the upper lashline with Coastal Scents Gel Liner in Deep Plum.

Step 5:

Line the waterline and lower lashline with Makeup Forever's Aqua Eyes in 1L.

Another way to create a clean smokey eye!

Do not forget to curl your lashes and apply 2 coats of mascara
Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler

Maybelline Volum' Express Cat Eyes in Black

Do not forget to fill in your brows with your choice of brow powder or pencil. I like to create a bit of a thicker brows for smokey looks! Dramatic eyes, that's what I want!

I used MAC's Coquette eyeshadow to fill in the brows for this look.

For the Face:
Maybelline Clear Smooth Liquid Foundation in Natural Buff
Set with MAC's Mineralized Skinfinish in Light

using my favorite Ecotools Kabuki brush

Conceal with Dollface Cosmetics'
Concealer Palette

For the cheeks:
Arezia Palette mixing the light pink blush
with a darker reddish pink one

For the Lips:
NYX Round Lipstick in Tea Rose Top
with Nivea Care Gloss Shine

Tie your hair in a low side ponytail
Wear your favorite dangling earrings
and put on that smile!

I know I've ended up this post with a smile but I feel a bit sad on my friend who's gone through bad customer service. Read on her story by clicking HERE. To all online sellers, or even sellers in general, please... we're not saying "Customers are always right" but please, be nice to us as it does take a lot for us online shoppers to spend money for products we haven't seen in person or touch. I myself is a seller so I know how it feels to be tired at times but please do not let it out to your customers. Happy seller with good character produces happy and satisfied customers!

So on with the happy thoughts!
