AMW Makeover: The Girls Who Walk before the Bride

Happy Tuesday!!!  I'm still alive and kicking!  I guess I will be that way until the end of the year?

Since I am very busy to even do a tutorial on AMW Version, I've decided to post some of my works instead!  There are so many things to share and so many things that I learn as I continue the craft for beauty.  I want to thank all the clients who trusted me with their gorgeous faces and it has been a super good year for me!

I was tasked to do the makeup a couple of weeks ago for the lovely girls who plays a very important role in my friend's wedding.  The preparation was at the Marriott Hotel's Meeting room, the place was huge enough for the ladies to relax and chat while they wait for their turn, as Kim and I got enough space to work on our clients.

I am very thankful for the lighted mirror (designed by Mr. AMW himself) as the area was surprisingly dark!

Let us start shall we?

Client #1
She's one of the brides maid and she got in first so I was able to do her makeup first.  She advised me she wanted a very natural look and I can do whatever I want for her eyes.

Her skin is well taken care off and I primed her face with an oil-control primer on areas that oil up and used a lovely mineral based foundation on her as not much coverage is needed for her lovely skin.

I went for peach toned blush and lipstick as these colors work so well on "morena and not-so-morena" skin.

I was thinking about J.Lo's makeup when I did her face! :) She's no J.Lo
but she definitely shone like no other!

Client #2
Client#2 came all the way from Japan to be part of her brother's wedding.  Her brother is the groom by the way and she immediately advised me she's not into makeup application and she wants everything to be light.  Actually, "VERY LIGHT" was her term.
I applied a light cream foundation all over her face adding up on areas that needed coverage.  She doesn't have any breakouts but she has darkness under the eye.  After foundation application, I applied a salmon colored concealer to "counteract" darkness and applied the foundation again on top of it and set with a matte powder.

She particularly wants her brows to be thin and natural.  I just filled in her brows adding up light, hair-like strokes and continued with a super natural eye makeup brightening up the center to make it more "awake".

I went for a super light blush and lip color.  She loved the Clinique Nude lipstick.

Client #3
The sister of the bride.  The maid of honor. I didn't do much on her "already full and perfect" brows and proceeded with primer application as just by "touch test", makeup will slide on her without a primer.  Her skin gets to be oily at the T-zone.

After foundation application, I applied a taupe-y colored eyeshadow and enhanced the inner corner of her eyes to focus the "center" part of her face as she's got such lovely eyes, nose and lips.

A pink blush was used and a pink lipstick.

Client #4
Client#4's skin is a bit tricky to work with.  The center of her face tends to oil up a lot and the sides are dry.  2 types of primers are used and choosing the right shade for her is very vital.  After foundation application, I went ahead and fixed her brows and for the eye makeup, I went for semi-smokey look using pinks, browns and black.

I love her cheeks every time she smiles so I specifically applied more on the apples of her cheeks to "lift" the whole face.

Lovely gown matched the lovely smile!

Client #5
Client #5 is very pale and she's acidic so it's one tricky part on choosing the right foundation shade for her.  I went for 2 shades lighter foundation (which was the lightest available inside my kit) and I applied a good amount of it all over her face leaving a very "white" mask-like effect immediately after application.  Thank goodness this girl's used to having her face done as she understood right away when I explained to her why her face looks pale and white.

To wait for the foundation to "settle", I primed her lids and filled in her brows.  I went for a darker smokey eye makeup using the Beauty Pro Cosmetics Sweet and Smokey Palette.

Went for matte peachy cheeks with peachy orange lip color,
she loved the final look!

The girls all ready to leave for Church!

All their hair was wonderfully done by Kim
I had fun prettifying these ladies and you would understand why I'm so happy doing makeup gigs?  It's meeting these wonderful girls!

AMW Reports: Gluta-C Pampering Session

I wanted to write this post together with my FAB Salon Part 2 experience because it was a wonderful pampering week for me before I head straight to crazy Saturday and Sunday!

God is good, He gave me all these pampering sessions in time to energized me and give me strength to face the "prettifying the clients" sessions with a huge smile and positivity!

Irene, Platforms Manager of Omnicom Media Group, invited me to be part of Gluta-C Pampering Session Night!

I'm glad the timing is perfect so I was able to be part of this relaxing event!

The event took place at Freyja's Spa.  Small world, the owners of Freyja's Spa used to live in the same area where I'm living now!

Lovely Shirley who greeted me with a huge,
gorgeous smile once I got in!
(Photo taken from Gluta-C FB page)

I'm glad to announce, I got here first!  So I was able to take shots of the gorgeous place!

Relaxing colorful couch and the ambiance spells RELAXING!  The place isn't super huge but I'm  happy to say, it's not crowded and they were able to maximize the space!

I took a shot of this couch because
I mentally reserved this seat for....myself!  *selfish!*  :P

As we waited for the rest of the bloggers to arrive, light snacks were served from Cafe France.  I am thinking about the delicious croissant right this very moment.  *salivates*

What's up with Gluta-C Pampering Session?  It's a night of style and pampering.  Stylist guest, Alyanna Martinez was there to talk about Styling 101, tips and a whole lot more plus exposing us to what Gluta-C has to offer by giving us the hands-on experience too!

Irene Chua jumpstarted the event with welcoming remarks

Alyanna Martinez, dressed in gorgeous chiffon top layered with a floral blazer wearing her gorgeous platform shoes from Steve Madden gave such a wonderful Styling 101 session!  I learned so much from knowing your body shape down to how to dress for specific body types!

P.S. Don't you just love her gorgeous lip color?

Afterwards, we were then introduced to Gluta-C products.

Gluta-C is endorsed by ABS-CBN Star Magic's homegrown artist Jodi Sta. Maria.  I can remember her commercial on Gluta-C.  For someone who started at a young age as an actress, I can definitely see a total transformation on her skin tone.

Gluta-C is shortcut for Glutathione and Vitamin C.  Their product range are straightforward.

  • Water based for deeper absorption
Note: Gluta-C will also come up with underarm and thigh cream.  This product will launch January 2012.

I also took a shot of the price range.
As compared to international brands, these are way cheaper, but as compared to other local brands, these are a bit pricier.  As explained by the managing director, they go for quality and the company test these products comprehensively to make sure they offer the best in the market.

We were also told they do a half face test just to see how "effective" the product is.  They do not promise immediate results nor do they promise total removal of spots.  I am very happy to say, the people in the company are quite honest in telling us that some may take time to see the "effect".  Reduced spots may be seen and I never heard them promise total removal of spots or scars!

Overall, the effect would depend on each individual.  Even if you are fair, you can still use these product range as it won't whiten your skin and makes you look like a zombie!  The effect of Gluta-C to fair skinned individuals will be seen on "evening" of your skin.  There are individuals who sent messages to the company to show their support of the brand as it worked on them!

After the talk, we were all treated with a nice pampering session!  What a way to end the night!  I went for Foot Spa and Foot Reflexology!

I do not know how this thing is called
but I'll call these"Massager Boots", so cute!

I'm an official Mascot! :P
These boots vibrates and relaxes my legs and feet.

It was great bumping into this girl on various events!

I wasn't able to take solo shots of Bianca (leftmost on photo below) and Tracy (third from left).  It was a wonderful, relaxing event that puts me back to "ME" time!

Nail Art Tutorial: Mr. Snowman says "Hi!"

Happy Monday!!!  Ok, I didn't feel the weekend as I've been very busy and I'm sure most of you are the same!  December is the month we're not allowed to breathe!  *laughs* But we're allowed to meet up with friends, dine and laugh our hearts out!

My weekend was super exciting and would you believe I finally got in Moonlit Bazaar?  You read that right!  I haven't been inside the bazaar EVER!  I was within Makati area when I've decided to visit my blogger friends Sophie, Shen, Jheng and of course, it will be the first for me to meet up with fellow nail polish lover Sol of Digital Traincase.  It was a fun night!  I should give myself more time and chances to go to bazaars....*checks wallet* ahmm, I guess it's better not to go to bazaars?  *hahaha*

Speaking about nail art, December is here so I started to do Christmas themed nails!

Weekend Food Tripping at: Wee Nam Kee

Happy Sunday!  Full December for me but that doesn't stop me from food-tripping!  That's the least I could do as eating is my form of relaxation!

Wee Nam Kee has been around for quite some time but I wasn't able to visit the restaurant during those "Lining up for your table" days.

Thankfully, it was one quiet afternoon when we passed by Wee Nam Kee, Serendra and decided to finally have a taste of what everyone's been raving about!  Oh, I planned to dine at Wee Nam Kee Singapore but failed.

The interiors reminded me of modern version of Shanghai restaurants during the olden days.

Condiments on table - CHECK!

Fresh Barley Juice
Php55.00 (approx $1.25)
This drink reminded of something I've tasted in the past but up until present, I can't figure it out!  Must be those healthy soup that my mom used to make for us!  I would say this drink is sweet and okay, but it's not something I would go back for.

Wee Nam Kee Fried Rice
Php190.00 (approx $4.30)
I am actually in love with this fried rice!  It's not too dry and it's really flavorful not because of artificial flavorings!  It's really packed with vegetables and shrimps.  Love this so much we took home another order!

Personal Set Roasted Chicken
comes with Chicken Soup and rice
Php168.00 (approx $3.80)
You can choose Small, Medium or Large orders, I opted for the roasted version though Wee Nam Kee is famous for their Steamed Hainanese Chicken, I guess I had quite a good experience of Hainanese Chicken in Singapore, I went for the Roasted version and it was a great choice!

Honey Crispy Squid
Php350.00 (approx $7.95)
UNIQUE is the name of this dish.  Though I've had crispy squid dishes from different restaurants, this is the "honeyed" version and I love the sweetness of the sticky honey against the super crunchy squid!  Would you believe it stays crunchy after more than 4 hours as we took some home!

BBQ Pork (Asado)
Php220.00 (approx $5.00)
One order of BBQ Pork Asado is good for 2-3 people!  I can like or dislike a BBQ pork right away base on its appearance!  If it looks dry, expect it to taste as dry!  Though this came with a separate sauce, I did not use the BBQ sauce on the side as I find the BBQ Pork Asado of Wee Nam Kee juicy and flavorful!

Aside from Luk Foo's BBQ Pork Asado, this made to the list of good Asado!

Service is good!  The restaurant accepts cash and credit card payments and there's a service charge to be added on top of the bill!

Wee Nam Kee Hainanese Chicken Rice
Serendra, McKinley Parkway, Bonifacio Global City
Taguig City, Metro Manila
Philippines

(632) 822-7095

Have you tried Wee Nam Kee Hainanese Chicken Rice?  What's your favorite dish from the menu? Any other recommendations?  I will definitely go back!
