AMW Reviews: K-Palette 24H Real Lasting Eyebrow Liners

Hi everyone!  I'm back in Manila!  I'm dead tired, sleepy but I have a huge smile on my face!  Thank you again Nuffnang PH for the invite and the blog awards was a huge success!  I'll tell you more about it once I sorted out photos! :)

Today, I will continue my K-Palette brand review, this time on their 1 Day Tattoo Real Lasting Eyebrow Liners.

01 Natural Brown
The difference with the eyerliner and eyebrow packaging is the color
of the name printed, eyebrow liners have it in gold.

Same micro fibre brush as the eyeliner

Works in all angle

02 Greyish Brown
Black Packaging with Gold Letterings

Looking closely, you'll see a space
where product automatically comes out

Being perfectly sharp is not a requirement
but it doesn't hurt that it has fine tipped brush

K-Palette 24H Real Lasting Eyebrow Liner says ---
  • Liquid eyebrow liner that has the right amount of translucence such that the color is deep enough to conceal sparse areas but not too dark that it gives a severe looking one.
  • Smudge proof and water resistant.
  • Won Singapore Women’s Weekly Best Beauty Buys
  • 2011- Best Brow Filler
  • Can be easily washed off with soap and water. No eye make up remover needed!
  • Suitable for novices and professionals
  • Lasts upto 4 to 6 months of daily use
  • Horray to perfect eyebrows the whole day.

Ingredients:

AMW says ---
Pros
  • Wonderful packaging that includes clear, English instructions.
  • Manufactured date clearly printed.  Good job!
  • No clicking or twisting for product to come out.
  • Each time you brush, the color comes out very light and natural.
  • Mimics the color of your brow color.
  • You can easily change the shape of your brows.
  • Can easily fill in gaps.
  • Lasts the whole day!
  • I tried wiping it off really hard but it didn't disappear.
  • Never look overly done.
  • Can be removed easily at the end of the day with regular makeup remover.
Cons
  • A bit tricky for first time users.
Overall
This is a perfect tool to fill in gaps and re-create the shape of your brows.

Tips
  • Please try to match the color of your hair with your brows.  Doesn't have to be perfectly the same shade but at least "thisclose".
  • Black hair can go for 02 Greyish Brown.  Brown colored hair goes for 01 Natural Brown.
  • Practice strokes on your hand before you proceed to your real brows.
  • Always start by filling in gaps first before you start re-shaping your brows.
  • If you have dark brows with light brown hair --- tip: Use 01 Natural Brown shade, then tint the color of your brows with brow tint that matches your hair color.
  • Do not forget to wipe the eyebrow liners at the end of the day with a cotton pad with makeup remover.
  • Shake before use.
  • Try to wipe off the brush with a makeup cleaning pad after use or when you use this on other people.
  • Practice drawing with the pointed tip pointing towards the brows and use short strokes to mimic natural hairs.
Will I repurchase?
Yes.  This goes straight for my clients.  My brows are quite full to begin with so I like using this to fill in a gap on my left eyebrow.

To whom do I recommend this to?

Anyone with thin, sparse brows.

Where to purchase and how much?
Retails for Php895.00 (approx $20.35) in Beauty Bar branches in Greenbelt 5, Rockwell, Mall Of Asia, Trinoma, Podium, Galleria, Shangri-La, Eastwood, Gateway, Alabang Town Center and Midtown.

A sample swatch on how light it looks
top: 01 Natural Brown - perfect for light colored hair
bottom: 02 Greyish Brown - perfect for dark colored hair

01 Natural Brown
It make look weird as my natural brow hair is greyish brown but this pen works well on my light brown hair.  I need to use a brow tint to lighten up the color of my brows.

02 Greyish Brown
This matches the natural color of my brows perfectly!  Checkout the gap that I have and see how it was filled in naturally.

Do you have gaps between your brows?
Would you give brow liners a try?

Nail Art Tutorial: Churp Churp!

Good morning and happy Monday!

Today is another wonderful day for a Nail Art Tutorial.  Most of you probably know by now that I spent my weekend in Kuala Lumpur!  Prior to leaving Manila, I've decided to change my nail art design!  I wanted to continue the Christmas series Nail Art designs but I've decided to go for a theme.  I like doing nail art that's a bit related to the country I'll be visiting.

Example, Panda Nails for Shanghai, China
KimmiDoll Nails for Singapore

The reason why I'm off to Malaysia is because of the Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards, I chose to either use the Nuffnang logo or Churp Churp!  The latter won my heart, see how cute Churp Churp is?

I don't know if I did justice to the "cuteness" of our dear li'l blue bird, but I think this is the closest I can get with my tiny fingernails!

I Wonder: Do You Like It in Pink or Gold?

I was beaming with joy when I first got my Charm Luxe Retractable Kabuki, the gorgeous pink case and pink tipped synthetic hair is perfect for pink lovers like myself.  I've had this and used this for a good 1.5 years and it's still doing okay!

When I went out with my friend to visit the Charm booth at Crossings, Shangri-La Mall, I saw a gleaming gold Charm Retractable Kabuki in Gold!!!

I know non-pink lovers out there would hear angels singing at the background!  It is indeed something unique and perfect for the Christmas season since me and my "kumare" were just shopping for sparkly gold shoes for her daughters from Payless Shoe Source.

The hair of Charm Retractable Kabuki in Gold is the same Vegan, animal-friendly hair like the Pink version!  The difference aside from the packaging would be the hair color.  The Retractable Kabuki Brush in Pink has white and pink synthetic hair while the Retractable Kabuki Brush in Gold is in brown with a bit of white!  The shade perfectly match the gold exterior!

Same density and softness

Same function, for powder foundation application, blush application or finishing powder!  I also like to use this brush to remove fall-outs from my eyeshadow application!

So that leaves to an I Wonder question ---
"Do You Like it in Pink or Gold?"

The Charm Retractable Kabuki in Gold and Pink costs Php580.00 (approx 13.15) to be purchased ONLINE free shipping for orders Php400.00 above (Happy Holiday Promo).

AMW Reviews: Benefit POREfessional

To celebrate the Post Grand Opening of the first Benefit store at Greenbelt 5, I will be doing a review on a  Benefit product that has won raves after raves!

But just so you know, the moment you're reading this, I'm off to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with fellow Nuffies for the Nuffnang Asia-Pacific  Blog Awards 2011!  I will be coming back with loads of stories to tell for sure!  Oh, the last time I visited KL was 5 long years ago!  I wasn't even married then!  Check out our crazy "Bioman" pose at the KL Tower with college friends!

Forgive me, I was young, and clueless then! --- yeah right!  At 27 years old! *hahaha*

Let's get back to business! :) A review on the brand that created the buzz for months!
I may not have pore problems but I believe this could be an essential tool inside my kit, so...are you ready to read my thoughts on this?  Is the Benefit POREfessional really Professional enough?

Benefit POREfessional says ---

Quickly minimize the appearance of pores & fine lines for smoother-than-smooth skin! Apply this silky, lightweight balm alone, under or over makeup. Translucent, oil-free formula complements all skintones and helps makeup stay put. Contains a Vitamin E derivative, known to protect skin from free radicals.

Size: 22.0 mL / 0.75 US fl. oz.

Ingredients: (please click to enlarge)

AMW says---
Pros
  • Nice squeezey tube, easy to control the amount of product that comes out.
  • Sealed with foil upon purchase, guaranteed product freshness.
  • Does minimize the appearance of pores even tiny lines!
  • Goes on smoothly upon application, finishes up in powder form.
  • Foundation goes on smoothly.
  • Works as a makeup base too, help control the oil especially on the t-zone.
  • Light weight, never feels heavy on skin.
Cons
  • If you're allergic to silicone (ingredient), this is definitely not for you!
  • Contains a tiny floral scent which may bother some people.
  • The tube is a bit tiny, I would appreciate a bigger tube!
Overall
Pictures below will prove how this product work in terms of blurring out the pores and lines.  Oil control may not be the greatest if you compare this to the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Light (my ultimate favorite) but still, the velvety finish it gives on skin plus the minimizing of pores is already enough for the product to be called POREfessional!

Tips
  • Dab a small amount of product on where the pores are, gently massage the product in a circular motion.
  • Massage until the product feels like powder.
  • For oil control, you can choose to apply more on areas that oil up then lesser on areas that do not have much oil.
  • I strongly suggest to apply this only on areas needed instead of applying on your whole face!
  • Experiment!  You can try applying this before or after foundation application.  Whichever works for you
  • Always clean your face well before you go to sleep.
  • For this product, using clean fingers is always recommended, this won't work if you use a sponge or brush.
  • If you do not suffer from large pores or obvious-looking pores, instead, you just need an oil-control primer, then go for Smashbox Photofinish Primer light or other face primers!  I strongly suggest this for people with obvious pores!
  • Before purchasing, ask for testers or ask help on how to apply!
  • Not sure if you're allergic to the ingredients?  Do a patch test prior to applying this all over your face!
  • Like Benefit Cosmetics Philippines on Facebook to be updated with promos and tips.
Will I repurchase?
A bit FAT YES!

To whom do I recommend this to?
Anyone suffering from huge pores who wants to "lessen" the look of it.

Where to purchase and how much?
The POREfessional can be purchased at the Benefit Store Greenbelt 5 for Php1,600 (approx $36.36).

Benefit the POREfessional

Blended out
It blends into my skin immediately
Goes on silky smooth and dries up in powder form

I was able to try this to a client/model who suffers from huge-looking pores.  The large pimple on the left hand side and the white spot on top is left on both photo for you to see that the same area was photographed.  Only a tiny amount of Benefit POREfessional was used on the spot at the center.  As seen on un-photoshopped photos,  the After photo showed blurring of pores!  The pores are still there but quite a number are diminished!

Do you need POREfessional in your life?
