The weekend was crazy with the strongest storm ever hit the world!  #TyphoonYolanda #YolandaPH  I pray our fellowmen safe and let's do everything in our own small ways to help out! :)

On the lighter note, let's talk about the lighter side of things, of course, things that make us feel and look beautiful!  I want to share a bright lipstick review.  The most recent lipstick from Benefit!  I actually haven't tried any Benefit Lipsticks for myself but I've used them a couple of times on a shoot!  I have tried their glosses but never thought Benefit would excel when it comes to lipsticks...until today!

Weekend Food Trip at: Spiral

Okay, today is the day where I will be sharing you gazillion photos on my most recent buffet date with Mr. AMW!  Brace yourself as this post is photo laden and if you're hungry, you better grab something to eat and get back to this post!  Don't tell me I didn't warn you!

Given the chance to pick, Mr. AMW and I would always go for a la carte dining rather than buffet.  Why?  We are the type of couple who like to bond over food and having so much food choices in front of our eyes may break the "bonding moment".  We love to eat so much we may end up in dead silence as we stuff our faces with food!  *laughs*  Aside from that, buffet meals are quite stressful for me as I would rather have our food served right in front of us rather than us walking around bumping into other people to get the "best piece" out there! 

I'm glad my idea changed after dining at the new Spiral at Sofitel Philippine Plaza.  I am very thankful to Sofitel's Jane and Blessy for the invite as all the qualms of buffet dining was gone after this lovely experience!  Mr. AMW and I were actually planning on more dates like this!

A fact for our international readers, Spiral officially opened year 2006, then a bad storm happened and Spiral was heavily ruined by floods!  It was a blessing in disguise as the new Spiral was re-opened November 2012 and this time, in a whole new level!  The new Spiral is now divided into 21 dining ateliers (yes, you read it right --- 21!) and let me tell you, the feel of the dining area is very different as compared to the old one! Aside from the warm ambiance, dining is more interactive!

The moment I sat at the table, their signature warm olive bread was served and I was asked for my drink of choice!

P.S. Ask for the healthy drink option, they serve different healthy drinks everyday!

AMW Reports: Le Spa Experience at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila

Happy Weekend AMW Friends!

Yes, you are seeing another spa review!  You have to give it to me as working full time plus a lot of side jobs are giving my body aches I haven't experienced in the past.  Plus, November 3 was actually our "We're officially together" anniversary.  Mr. AMW and I celebrated 16 years of true love and friendship!  And what's the best way to celebrate that?  Good food and perfect relaxation!   We had a good lunch at Spiral (will talk more about it tomorrow on my Weekend Food Trip post) then a relaxation time at Le Spa (just a stone throw away from Spiral).

Le Spa is located at the Plaza Level of Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila.  Upon stepping in the Le Spa reception area, I was immediately put at ease as the interior screams classy with a modern twist!  Aside from that, the usual friendly greeting with genuine smile from staffs put both me and Mr. AMW at ease (seriously, we're allergic to snooty establishments and you won't feel that at Sofitel Manila and Le Spa).

Take a couple of steps further back, check out the HUGE receiving area (photo below)!  Mr. AMW used to dislike massages because of his ticklish bones *laughs*, so he prefers to wait for me at the lounge or waiting room every time I have my own massage.  With a comfortable sofa and a flat screen TV and a nice cup of ginger tea (served free by Le Spa)?  I'm sure an hour or two will pass by quickly!

Eureka Moment: Hot Iron Holster for your Hot Styling Tools

I am a hairstylist every now and then but not as much as I do makeup, the thing though, I am so into hairstyling and I must admit, purchasing hot styling tools give me a natural "high" and Mr. AMW can vouch on that!  

I have 2 blow dryers, flat iron, 3 sizes of curling iron, a flat iron and curling iron in one, a small flat iron for bangs, etc...  I've hurt myself using a hot styling tools in the past so I'm taking extreme precaution in handling them!  

So the moment I saw Digital Traincase posted the photo below on Instagram (@dgtaltraincase) asking if anyone's interested with the Hot Iron Holster, I immediately replied: "ME!"

Who wouldn't be?  It's the simplest yet most unique invention for any "hair" person out there!
