AskMeMom: In Sickness and In Good Health

I always strive to do my best in EVERYTHING I do.  But let me open up a bit about myself --- I am in no way perfect!  Reread all my previous blog posts, you'll see grammar mistakes.  Check out my room, it's all messy!  Now let's not talk about my cooking skills, I never measure so it's always trial and error (Spaghetti today tastes exceptional, ask me to repeat it?  I can't!)

Some of you may not know this side of me, but I'm actually The Queen of Mistakes!  It's alright though, because I have short-term memory so I guess the best way for me to remember something is to let me fall flat on my face!

Now, let's talk about me being an "AskMeMom", just how I normally go through my life, that's how I face motherhood, I'm quite a chill one for someone who's a first-time mom!  I remembered not worrying much about him when I took him with me to the US for a press launch.  He was tripping on toys, holding on random poles at DisneySea, I let him be...as long as he has adult supervision (Us!)

BUT, just like any super hero, there will always be a weakness --- when Kyle gets sick!  I knew deep in my heart there's no time to joke around, that there is no time to make mistakes!

Nuxe for the Face and Body

When Nuxe was officially launched in the Philippines last year, I had my skin analyzed and I was told the best product for me to use is the Nuxellence Detox, which is from their anti-aging care line.  It works best as a night serum to be applied before a night cream!

I have used this for more than a month before I started finishing my old serums (not because I don't like this product but because I dislike wasting product so I had to finish my 2nd bottle of Shiseido Ultimune).

The texture of this serum is amazing!  Super lightweight and it gets absorbed into the skin almost no time so I can immediately follow up with my favorite night cream!  It doesn't hurt that it comes with a nice floral scent making it easier for me to doze off!

Then the next product I tried from them is the NUXE Lotion Tonique Douce or as simple as a Gentle Toning Lotion!  We all know gone in the past when toners are alcohol base and strips off our skin's natural oil!  With this one from NUXE, it hydrates my skin making it soft and smooth ready to accept the next skin care product to be applied on my face!  What I like about this product is that, it smells great, non-greasy and works even for sensitive skin --- because I have sensitive skin and so far, I did not suffer from any allergic reactions.

Leaders Insolution Masks To Try For Starters

For someone who has tried mask sheets for years!  I can't believe there will come a time I'll turn into a "walking advertisement" for a specific mask brand!  Seriously, follow me on Snapchat (@AskMeWhats) and you'll see how much of a mask fan I am!  It is my "me-time" when the little one goes to bed and I get a kick of choosing the specific variant to use for the night.

That is an easy task for me because I did my researched and knew what my skin type is and what my skin needs!  But for a particular reader named Karen, who emailed me telling me how confusing it is to visit the Leaders Insolution store!  How overwhelmed she felt with all the different variants and lines --- point taken!  Not everyone is a facial mask nerd as I am so I'm sharing a quick tip on how to spot the Leaders Insolution Mask for YOU if you are a first-timer!

Number 1 rule: Know your skin type.  Talk to the SA who is in store because she knows all the Leaders Insolution masks by heart!

But if you are the type who would like to go "low key" and just give this brand a try before investing your time and attention on it....you may start with these Leaders Insolution regular masks (priced at Php148.00 each)

These are my top 4 picks for starters!

GirlStuff RAVE Neon Collection and Solique UV-Glow Gel Top Coat Launch

You probably know by now how busy I was last week for the launch of GirlStuff RAVE Neon Polish Collection and Solique UV-Glow Gel Top Coat.  Just a bit of background, the owner Dr. Janina Gutierrez-Tan and I go way back!  It was more than 5 years ago when she emailed me to try her polishes!  Because the quality of GirlStuff polishes are really good, I ended up using at least one polish on my every nail art tutorial posts!  Fast-forward to 2 years later, Janina requested for a meet-up and wanted me to help her launch GirlStuff formally!  For someone who loves her polish like my own, I said YES!  And the rest was history!

Our 3rd launch in less than 2 years!  I'm sure there will be more to come!  Thanks Janina for the trust.

Now back to the collection, when we were planning on how to create a bang for this particular RAVE Neon Polish Summer Collection and Solique UV-Glow Gel Top Coat. Janina had a bright idea on turning a bar pitch black in the afternoon because our age may be out of the calendar but we are definitely young at heart!  (Reality: Lola talaga kami, wala kaming alam! hahaha)

Etude House My Beauty Tool Secret Brush 121 Review (Face)

When Oval brushes came out in the market, I knew I had to get them even if I own a number of face brushes as of the moment!  Especially when I chanced upon Etude House My Beauty Tool Secret Brush 121?  Who can say no to this?

A photo of Etude House My Beauty Tool Secret Brush 121 Face

I do not own a lot of this type of brushes, the first one was from Purple Tags and I realized after using it that this is the type of brush you don't think you need?  But once you tried them, it is indeed life-changing!
