What are Tone Up Creams?
Ask me right now because I'm definitely answering #lol
As opposed to moisturizers being well...ahm..moisturizers? (Great job Nikki!) Okay, seriously speaking, moisturizers are used to "hydrate" your skin. So is a tone-up cream similar to the moisturizers we know?
Maybe...if a Tone-Up cream includes hydrating ingredients. To set the record straight, Tone Up Cream works by brightening and evening out your skin tone. That said, they usually contain brightening ingredients such as fruit extracts (as seen in this product from Innisfree!)
When do you apply such product? Usually at the last part of your skincare - if you have dry skin like I do, you may want to finish up with your favorite moisturizer then use the Tone-Up Cream as a pre-makeup routine.
In layman's term, Tone-Up cream is what I call "correctors" for the face! This helps even out your skin and create brighter looking complexion especially for those with sallow skin.
Innisfree came up with their own Tone-Up Cream last year and I was able to test this out a couple of times before I write a decent review.
Priced at Php1,250.00 locally, this is under the Jeju Cherry Blossom line and what I like about this cream is the added moisturizing properties! The product comes in a tub like on photo and it has an almost gel like texture which is perfect for our weather.
To some who like the more natural effect of "whiter looking skin", Tone-Up Cream from Innisfree is the way to go because it gives instant brightening effect immediately or on first use. I like to apply all over my skin evenly using my clean fingers and massage through with a patting motion after.
