Greeting you with my best hair YET!

The whole lockdown with me staying home and not leaving the house (unless I visit my parents).  I never get the chance to go to a hair salon (a personal choice) for safety.  That said, I have cut my own hair 3 x in total while gazillion times for my Husband and Son!

When you check out all my posts or to my long time AMW readers, you will know this is my LONGEST hair to date!  I wanted this length for so long but dryness, frizziness and tangles stopped me from achieving that dream length!  I also like to go to hair salons for some pampering session and no matter how many times I say TRIM, hairstylists tend to go overboard and cut LONGER THAN TRIM :P  So yes to cut the long story short, this is my longest hair because —- NO CHOICE.

As much as I want to cut my hair short, I don’t want to mess up with it!  I have experiences in cutting other people’s hair but I will never be confident in cutting my own!  

I came to a point of geting SUPER irritated with my hair - you can ask my husband.  I have been whining about it more than the pandemic itself (hahaha) SORRY NOT BEING SUPERFICIAL but I KNEW I cannot do anything about COVID-19 but I can do something about my hair! 

I have tried various treatments from inexpensive to expensive ones so you can honestly give me a call and I’ll give you a quick rundown on all the brands I’ve used! HAHAHA

For reference, I do have frizzy hair but I take care of it.  I use a lot of treatment oils and heat protectant whenever I use heating tools.  This condition may be bad for me but not as bad as others but the tangles are driving me crazy!  I am losing so much hair on every single combing/brushing .  So this is my before photo and mind you, my result may differ with yours so please do not FIGHT ME! :P

During the 1 week Holy Week break here in the Philippines, I got more time on my hands because I do not need to tutor my son or wake up early for his online school.  What I did was I used Black Keratin from Keratin Plus for the whole week (7 days straight) leaving it for at least 15 minutes with a shower cap!  I also wrap my head with an extra towel and do my usual chores before I was it off!  

I finally SAW results after patiently doing that for full 7 days.  Unfortunately, my son is back to school so I am still using the said product but lesser amount of time!  

What do you think about my after photo?  It does work right?

So my friends have been noticing how long and healthier my hair looks!  I do feel the difference thought the split ends and dry ends will always remain.  Let’s be realistic here, this is not a magical product, but it worked in terms of lessening my hair frizziness and my hair combing is easier - around 50% better than before.

Even befor watching Crash Landing On You, I love Son Ye Jin on her portrayal of a nerd at My Personal Preference with Lee Min Ho.  I find her beauty to be very natural and she has this really kind look!   That is why I am not surprised to see her as a face of a Natural Beauty Brand.

I immediately tried both products upon receiving these as gift!  What I noticed is how sweet smelling the shampoo and Treatment is.  They aren’t the “waxy” type like those commercial ones.  The shampoo itself gives hydration, my hair does not feel stick dry during wash!  With the treatment, I like how I can easily comb my long hair (which is usually hard to do with tangles!)  

Happy to report that I do not suffer any scalp allergic reactions, which I usually do when a hair product does not work for me.  I have been using this pair consistently for 2 weeks straight.  I don’t suffer a lot of hairlost but the less tangle means lesser hair loss! 

Due to my chemically treated hair I still need deep conditioning treatment at least once or twice a week but this goes straight to one of my favorite brand when it comes to haircare.

Up until today, I am still addicted to hair care products!  I still get that giddy, excited feeling whenever I see, purchase or receive hair products.  Because up until today, I am still (and always will be) on the lookout for the best hair care products for my type of hair ----

With a bit of research, I learned that Daily Defense is originally made famous by Clairol and Proctor & Gamble, the Daily Defense brand has been a trusted and consumer favorite for many years.  Now owned by CLT International, they maintain the same premium formulations using natural ingredients and botanical extracts.

The Argan Oil line is meant to help renew, replenish and add shine to hair.  It can also help minimize frizz and restore split ends.

True enough, after first use, I can immediately see and feel the difference.  My hair near the roots doesn't stay upright like before and they are less frizzy.  The ends are less dry and thankfully, my hair is easier to comb.  

The shampoo and conditioner is good but my ultimate favorite from the bunch is the Deep Conditioner.  Because that is the one product that I saw the most dramatic result after a week of usage!  I leave it for good 5-10 minutes with a shower cap massaging the product onto my scalp and concentrating more products on the tips of my hair were it tends to be frizzy and dry.

True enough, my hair feels softer to touch and thankfully, easier to comb! 

An added bonus on why I love such product?  HURRAH for color-treated hair users because these are available in Low-Sulfate and Sulfate-free formulas!  My hair color can last longer because the product won't strip my hair color making it look dull and flat!  

For a brand that has been sitting quietly in stores, I guess, it's time I give it a spot and make it SHINE because it does work!

So I have always been a hair products girl, even inside a makeup and skincare land --- Etude House, I actually look forward to their "hair care products" area and look for unique products.

One product line that caught my attention is the SILK SCARF line.  With this line comes a slim box that says "Damage Protein Ampoule Treatment".

The product caught me at "Damage", so I grabbed it right away thinking this comes in a glass bottle or something like "facial ampoules".  

It was a nice surprise to see an "Injection" instead.  Thumbs up for packaging.

How I Take Care of My Color-Treated Hair

I started coloring my hair even way before I started Blogging, that said, it is more than a decade that my hair has been exposed with harsh chemicals!  

I have been asked so many times by readers and friends on how I maintain the "healthy look" of my hair.  I said "Look" because I am sure my hair isn't as healthy as it was when I was in highschool but I can still say, I can run my fingers through my hair without causing me to tear-up from hair pulling and tangles.

That's why when it comes to haircut, I don't second guess!  I may go on different salons for a "trim" but when I wanted a better hairstyle (a.k.a. good layering in my dictionary)  I'll go for Tony & Jackey anytime of the day.
