Loyal Kitchen Manila Salted Egg Crabs Review

Hi AMW Friends!

When do you see crabs, huge crabs on my blog?

Well, truthfully, I don't find crabs as appealing as compared to shrimps!  I find it tedious to crack the shell and eat a measly amount of crabmeat - I am sure a lot of you are nodding right this very moment.

But one particular "Crab" changed my mind!  It was from Loyal Kitchen MNL, which is a start-up business and they have been selling online for now because of the owner's love for good quality food!  

I have been to Dampa so many times and ordered crabs for my parent-in-law in every visit - they never come in THIS SIZE, well, they probably do and would cost us an arm and leg (pun intended!).

Would you believe everything you see IN the container plus the ones on the plate costs only Php1,400.00 (A whole 1kg of it!)  

I NEVER LIE, well, I do (I'm still a human you know :P)  but NEVER in this blog!  

And that's not all, what made this special and made me think it is worth to crack these shells and take a lovely bite on the hidden meat is because of the FLAVOR!  It is SALTED EGG and I am not talking about a measly salted egg flavor, you get a WHOLE LOT OF Salted Egg sauce on it, I even have enough to re-use for fried rice the next day!  

Known as a "Liquid Gold Sauce" from from the brand, it is indeed very tasty minus the greasy and oily after-taste.  You wouldn't mind licking your fingers on every bite because the flavor is just right, I can really sense that they use fresh salted eggs in creating this dish too!

And I'm not done yet!  The crabs, the crabs are super fresh, my parents can tell because they are professional crab-eaters!  The crabs are not only fresh, you get a full flavor of sweet, juicy crab meat  on every single bite!  Basta, I can't explain myself more because it is worth the price!

Embracing Taiwan, Leading by Example

With COVID-19 scaring the whole world since the start of 2020, I find myself locked inside my own home worrying about my family.  As the months passed by, I get more and more anxious especially now that COVID-19 cases gets higher in our country each day.

Then I saw an impressive article and video on how our neighboring country Taiwan (oh, how I missed the country!  I was able to visit them last summer!)  were able to fight the pandemic!

Taiwan implements effective measures in containing the spread of Covid-19. No wonder, it has gained global recognition as one of the few countries that successfully control the continues threat of the Corona virus.

Now that most countries ease down the quarantine, Taiwan has long been back to living the new normal. Such pioneering act is attributed to the national government's quick and efficient response to the global pandemic. Early on, the Taiwanese government's response to health crisis in the country has been successfully implemented thru timely and reliable programs delivered through humorous, relaxed and emphatic ways.

One of Taiwan's current initiatives is the #WeBeatTheChallengeTogether. It aims to promote discipline, cooperation and unity among its population in these trying times. That Taiwanese

are steadfast and united in addressing and managing the contagion.

The strict implementation of preventive and control measures during the early stage of virus outbreak has minimized cases and mitigated the entry of Covid-19. That's why #Taiwan is considered to be a #globalmodel as it leads by #goodexample in war against Covid-19 pandemic.

Taiwan has instituted a national mask program for its population. And the country even donated millions of face masks to European countries, the United States and neighboring allies including the Philippines. Just goes to show that #Taiwan is #helping to control the spread of the virus.

Today, Taiwan embraces the new normal by strictly implementing the standard protocols: 
frequent hand washing, wearing of face mask and maintaining social distancing, which are effective measures to prevent disease transmission in public areas. 

Truly, Taiwan is in the forefront of successful fight against Covid-19.

Uniqlo Reopen Stores with New Product Offerings this May!

Look into my closet you'll see several Uniqlo items!

I find them the most wearable, always in fashion, and very comfortable to wear!  

As much as I missed browsing through aisles after aisles, Uniqlo is finally reopening their stores with new product offerings this May!

Korean Pancake Recipe (Pajeon)

Ever since lockdown, you will find me scrolling on Youtube or Instagram food pages to search for meals I can create for my family!  Of course, it has to do with my cravings as well!

Ever since I watched Maangchi's videos, one simple recipe she made that really stuck in my head is her Pajeon Recipe (or Korean Pancakes).  She explained how every Korean household will make this simple recipe during festivals and how this reminds her of her mom who prepares this every morning for breakfast!

I can imagine how important this meal was because I have warm, fuzzy feelings in my tummy whenever I cook recipes that my mom makes.  

The only ingredient I don't have are well, more seafood and Potato Starch.  Thankfully, I was able to order Potato Starch online (at Landers Superstore) and went ahead with just a simple fresh shrimps as the main ingredient.

Ingredients:  Just so you know, I tweaked the recipe of Maangchi and used ingredients that I have at home and created a taste apt for my family's tastebuds.

1. Chopped Shrimps
2. Green Onions
3. Crabsticks
4. 1/2 cup Flour
5. 1/2 cup Potato Starch
6. 2 Eggs
7. Salt
8. Pepper
9. Garlic Powder
10. Knorr seasoning
