BYS, a brand I originally thought was a local one, was actually established in 2004 in Melbourne Australia.  BYS Philippines came around 2012 by IFace Inc.  The brand has been around exclusively with Watsos Philippines and I have seen a lot of wonderful collections and a couple of collaborations with local stars!

This year, BYS Philippines takes the lead in creating a Skin Care Line for the Global Brand!  That is great news if you ask me!  A milestone in the Philippine skin care category!

During the Skin by BYS launch, I was excited learning so much about how BYS Philippines stayed positive amidst the rollercoaster 2020 and 2021!

• The Extra Hydrating Balancing Toner, P699, is a hydrating toner formulated with hyaluronic acid that helps restore skin elasticity and reduce fine lines while keeping moisture locked in.

• The Extra Glow Sheet Mask and the Extra Firming Sheet Mask, both P89, help you achieve a healthy-looking glow and a more refined skin texture, respectively.

Thankfully during the launch, I learned that they created a range that are vegan and cruelty-free!  All products are hypoallergenic and contains absolutely none of the harmful chemicals (petroleum, artificial colors, propylene glycol, MEA, DEA, TEA, phthalates, triclosan, parabens, and sulphates).  That absolutely gave me the peace of mind to try these products and I actually did!  I started using the Extra Gentle Milk Jelly Cleanser and Sunblock and loving how  it does not give me any negative reactions!  Nothing but clean, smooth and soft skin!

Summer-Ready Look (Fake Tan) inspired by Cleopatra

 

Yes, I am not sure what Cleopatra is doing in my summer-inspired look but when I think about Cleopatra, I am thinking about her bronzey-glowing skin and I had her in mind when I was creataing this look!  Instead of going Cleopatra-style with the winged liner, I changed it into something more wearable!  Here’s the final look!

The star product in this makeup look is the Bobbi Brown High Shine Liquid Eye Shadow in Copperhead.  It brought a natural glow on both my eyes and cheeks.  It wasn’t supposed to be used on cheeks but we all know we love multi-tasking products.  Anything good for the eyes can work for the rest of the face!  I’m glad the bronzy color is just right even for fair skinned gals!  

The lip color is also another thing, if you made glowing eye makeup and cheeks, stick to matte lips to divert attention towards the upper half of your face!  Can you imagine how confusing everything will look with shiny lips too? 

AMW Cooks: Chicken Rice Bowl Recipe (Hainanese Chicken)

 

I used to dislike “White Chicken” as what we call it in Cantonese Language.  I am definitely NOT discriminating Chicken based from their color but it is a directly translation from Cantonese language (which we highly use at home).

I guess I am really turning into an “Auntie”.  For someone who says: “EEEWWW” when I see my mom mix ginger and garlic in oil to put it on chicken and look at me today!  ADDING MORE GINGER than how my mom used to do!  

Ultimate Auntie you say?  It’s okay, I find this one of the most comforting food especially these trying times.  Cooking every single day (except no cook days) for the past years is putting a toll in my mental health!  :P  Just joking, it did not affect my mental health but thinking about what to cook every single day adds up to my stress.  Thank God for modern times, thank GOD for internet inspirations!  I actually was inspired with this dish via ...... *drumroll* TIKTOK!  

YES, I learn so much on Tiktok that is why I love that app more than Instagram nowadays.

“Don’t tell Instagram, it might get jealous!” NAHHH!  :P
