Lipsticks of the Day: Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Intense 53 and 54 + Mix

I posted about Make Up For Ever's New Spring Color Collection and I told you guys how I got 2 lipstick shades from this collection and loved mixing both lipsticks to create a third shade!  Some of you wanted to see it so I did it all because of LOVE for my dear AMW friends! :D

Keep in mind that my lips are highly pigmented so I may look like I'm not wearing any lipsticks at all, or maybe you can't see the difference unless you look closely!

For better reference, here's a photo for comparison --- L-R Shade 53, Shade 54 and Mixed 53 and 54

Which one is your favorite?

Housed in a slick black tube, I like the simplicity of the packaging.

Rouge Artist Intense
(Php1,440.00).
Shade 53 "Pearly Pink Copper" for fans of solar looks
Shade 54 "Pearly Golden Pink" for lovers of cold tones

What I love is how the stickers are exactly the same shade as the lipsticks so I won't get confused when they are together with the rest of my lipstick collection.

 Shade 53 Pearly Pink Copper
I personally prefer this shade over 43 as this suits better for users with warm skin tone.  This is definitely MLBB (My Lips But Better) shade and it does have a "copperish" effect thus giving a "fuller lips effect".

With one swipe, the color is opaque so it doesn't show up as much on my pigmented lips but with 2-3 swipes, it gives a very nice effect like I have a spotlight shone directly on my lips wherever I go.

Shade 54 Pearly Golden Pink
Funny how I think I look pale and sick with this shade (in person) but upon seeing this photo, this shade photographs well even if this has a blue based tone (thus works much better with users with cool skin tone).

Now, the Make Up Artist in me wanted to create a 3rd shade because I always like to mix and match and be creative!  So I like to apply a layer of Shade 53 as base and apply Shade 54 only at the center to give this nice gradient effect.

Not bad right?
I actually wore this color on several occasions and I get asked:
"Are you wearing a pink or coral lipstick?"
I always LOVE the confusion!

What is your favorite shade?
Do you like the combined shade too?

  3. When I attended MUFE's workshop, I was sooo lucky to be given a cute deluxe sample of that lipstick. I forgot the shade. It's like a warm red with a subtle touch of maroon. They're super pigmented and lasts for a long time. (^...^)
