I Wonder: How Do You Relax?

I always answer: "When my son is asleep, one hand holding an iPad watching my favorite films and a cup of coffee or a glass of milk on the other hand."

And yet, I always feel sluggish.

When my dear brother bought me a Muji Large Aroma Diffuser, we set it in our living room to keep that area fresh and smells great whenever we have visitors coming in!  Okay, the living room turned out to be Toddler AMW's "playground" and most of the time, visitors do not get to sit anymore...well at least, the house smells great so they'll forgive us on not letting them sit!  hahaha

As much as I want to have the whole house smelling clean and fresh or yummy, I can't move the Large Aroma Diffuser around so I am still on the hunt for an inexpensive aroma diffuser.  Scented candles weren't an option because I'm not a candle-person!  Not until I found the brand Heart & Home.  I finally have choice and the scented candles do not smell like candles with a scent, instead, it smells delicious I almost forget we are using candles!

Heart & Home comes with huge selection of fragrance-rich candles, wax melts and votives have been produced to fill our homes with scents depending on our preference and mood.  I believe the company have worked alongside with leading perfumers to build unique scents that is said to help "turn on that lightbulb moment" in our brains!

True enough, aside from feeling more relaxed, on days, I get to have more ideas on what I want to do with my blog whenever I'm relaxing with soft music and my favorite scent!  I'll share my favorites later on!

Heart & Home Country Kitchen
Php995.00 (approx $23.00)
Upto 70 hours burn time
L-R French Vanilla, Sweet Black Cherries, Mediterranean Fig and Welcome Home

As much as you and I would like to go "in shock" for the price, I actually find these to be more inexpensive as compared to using fragrance-oil!  This huge candle goes a long way!  After a month's usage, I still haven't finish 1/4 of the candle and I'm actually looking forward to finish 1 to try on the next one!

There are a total of 14 scents to choose from (For the Large Candle Category) and my favorite out of the 4 I own is the French Vanilla scent!  This goes perfectly inside my room and the scent isn't too overpowering so my toddler still gets to sleep without irritated nose while mommy enjoys her relaxation time.

I am looking forward to try the Jasmine Daydream scent (not on photo) because it is my mom's favorite scent and I want to share my gift of relaxation to her!

Small Candles
Php500.00 (approx $11.36)
Upto 30 hours burn time
L-R Sea Grass, Dawn Mist, Fresh Linen, Simply Spa and True Enchantment

I find these to be perfect if you are just starting out on fragrance-candles!  I find the size to be perfect to be placed on smaller rooms and smaller areas around the house!  I actually alternate the big candle and small candle and I prefer Fresh Linen to be used during daytime when I'm working in front of my "office table" for more inspiration.

These have the same quality of the large candles, soy-waxed based and fragrance enriched!

Votives
Php199.00 for Votive only + Php80.00 with holder
Upto 15 hours Burn time
L-R Lavender and Sage, Jasmine Daydream, Intense and Rampling Rose

I actually have to look for a nice Votive holder because I can't seem to use these smaller versions yet and I plan to use them inside my bathroom!  Lavender and Sage is my "first Votive choice" because fellow mommies would understand how a "bath time" is actually a vacation for all hardworking moms out there!

Just in case you seriously wanted to try their candles and are on a budget, I highly recommend these because they are good enough for you to test if the fragrance works for you and your lifestyle.

Overall, I am turning into a new leaf!  I am loving fragrance candles more and more each day!  All I have to keep in mind is not to fall asleep with candles on.  My trick is, after approximately 10 minutes, or when your room is filled with the scent you love, you can blow the candle as the scent lingers in the room for quite some time!  And oh, may I add how gorgeous their packaging is?  They are have a cover which goes so well with any part of your room!  Just by looking at them makes me feel so happy!

One thing I learned from using these is to take care of them just like we take care of the things we love!  Remember to trim the candle wick to 5-10mm before each use and keep your candles away from flammable materials!  And as much as I would LOVE to purchase those cute glasses I see inside the mall to use as candle holder, I have to stop myself and make sure to use ONLY appropriate candle holders!  SAFETY is still the best form of relaxation I tell you!

So that, my friend, is how I relax myself!  What's your secret in keeping yourself relaxed?
Please don' say massages!  I just don't have time for that at the moment!  *jealous*!

  3. Hi Nikki. Glad I discovered a new soy-based candle from your blog. I was wondering if these were soy or beeswax based and am glad that they are soy based. Did you know that regular paraffin-based candles are pollutants and cause more harm than good? Soy and beeswax candles are pricier because of the quality and the heart that go into making them :)
