NEW! Pink Sugar Creamy Matte Lipsticks Review

Happy Monday! True to what I always do on each Monday, I am sharing another lipstick(s) post!  I recently got Pink Sugar's Newest shades under the creamy matte line!  They are super gorgeous to look at!  And guess what?  They look even more beautiful when worn!

Are you excited to see how they look on me? (I hope so!  If not, go out and try out their testers and tag me on your photos for me to see how they look on you!)

There are a total of 4 NEW shades, 3 of them are on the nude side while there's 1 bright red just because a girl needs at least 1 red lipstick in her lifetime!

So what's your favorite shade?
Can't decide?  Let me share more information about each shade.

Now first, let's talk about the packaging.  They are housed in the similar packaging they used when the brand was first launched!  (You may read about Pink Sugar Launch HERE)

I still have all the lipstick shades they launched but I just don't have time to really play around with them!  I've used them randomly and shared on my IG account (@AskMeWhats) so please follow me there!  Now, why do I need a special blog posts for these 4?  Because the shades are right in time for the Millenial look! :P  Youngsters is what I mean!

L-R  Hot mess, Girl Next Door, Hotline Bling and XOXO

They have a sneak peek on what's the color inside (I appreciate it that much) so you don't need to remove the cap of the lipstick or try to read the shade name EACH and EVERY time you plan to wear one!  (SALAMAT!)

Judging by the look on tube, here are my first impressions ---
Hot Mess - a gorgeous cool-tone mauve pink shade.
Girl Next Door - a deep peach/beige shade.
Girl Next Door - bright fuchshia
XOXO - Medium brownish pink shade

Okay, once applied, it will be a totally different story!  Here are the swatches on my arm with its' respective shade names.

On AMW: Hot Mess
Hot Mess, the name, is a bit confusing!  It must be me being brainwashed by most lipsticks company! When I see the word "HOT" it always reminds me of a bright red, bright pink or bright orange shade!  So this muted mauve-y pink shade comes off a big surprise!  BUT, what surprises me even more is how it actually looks good on me!  A faint pink shade on a fair skin?  That calls for SICK LEAVE!  But not with this one!  This is actually my favorite nude shade from Pink Sugar!

On AMW: Girl Next Door

Another "suicide-shade" was at the back of my head upon seeing the color on tube.  I own a similar color from MAC and mind you, I left it inside my professional artist kit and use it as a "lip concealer" because it is indeed so nude it works as lip concealer!  Now, the Pink Sugar one is a totally different story!  I don't know about your lips but because my lips are heavily pigmented to start it, it looks like a gorgeous medium peach color that spells "Perfect Nude Lipstick!"  Okay, now I'm scrolling up and down between this and Hot Mess, Girl Next Door seems better-looking on me, Right?  HELP!

 On AMW: Hotline Bling
Hotline Bling is a bright true-red lipstick color!  It looks like most red lipsticks I own so I would say this is good but not WOW!

But, if you are a first-time lipstick wearer, don't be scared by the color on tube, you can apply a layer and it'll be good enough to jump-start your red-lipstick days!  But if you want a bolder lip color, apply 2-3 layers and you're good to go!

On AMW: XOXO
Is it just me again? Or is XOXO supposed to be a bold red color?  Don't mind me though, this shade is perfect for girls who want to try out "MLBB" (My Lips But Better) but are scared to go to the nude route!  This is a nice medium tone rose pink shade that warms your face!  Applying more layers would lead to a brownish pink color making it look like you have a 2nd tube of lipstick!

Such versatile color I may say!  XOXO would work well on ALL Skin Tones!

As for my overall thoughts ---

  • The lipsticks are creamy but not extremely creamy especially for users who have extremely dry lips.  You have to hydrate and prep your lips properly before using any lipsticks.
  • The colors are true to the tube!  You get what you see!  But bear in mind the result would be different on each individual so it is highly recommended to try on testers and not just depend on online swatches.
  • These Creamy Matte Lipsticks does not flake even on my dry lips.
  • They last for approximately more than half a day with eating and drinking.
The Pink Sugar Creamy Matte Lipsticks line are now available in total of 14 shades!  Priced at Php349.00 each, they are inexpensive indeed!  Available at : SM Department Stores in MOA, Makati, Aura, Manila, Fairview, Marilao, Clark, Bacoor, Seaside Cebu, Lanang Premier (Davao), SM Bacolod, Watsons Festival Mall, Ayala Center Cebu, Seaside Cebu, Southmall,  Landmark Department Store Trinoma; Makati Metro Department Store Market Market KCC Mall Zamboanga, Marbel, General Santos G Mall Davao, Toril, Tagum Online on BeautyMNL.com Fisher Department Store (coming soon) and their e-commerce site is www.pinksugar.com.ph
