Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipsticks by Colorsensational Review

So it has already been established that drugstore brands like Maybelline and L'Oreal (comes from same company by the way) are "upping" their game in terms of lipsticks!  With the wide array of lipstick shades in several finishes, I can't imagine leaving their counter without buying at least a single tube!  (Consider the price and sale they have every now and then)

With all the neon and vibrant lipstick shades that they are coming up, they finally came up with (well, in my opinion, my age appropriate lipstick shade)  Don't get me wrong, these colors can be worn by women of all ages but this reminded me so much of the 90's I have to claim the browns, courtesy of Maybelline Colorsensational Creamy Matte Lipsticks.

Priced affordably at Php299.00, I can't imagine not grabbing more than one!

So I originally got 3 tubes to start with!  The shades are (L-R) Clary Crush, Nude Nuance and Burgundy Blush.  Then I saw Divine Wine on counter and I told myself I had to get one!

The packaging is just like the Vivid Mattes but instead of vibrant cap shades, this time, it was housed in an almost transparent brown cap which I don't mind!





Thankfully, I was able to add up Divine Wine in this post!  So my Colorsensational Creamy Matte Lipstick collection includes --- L-R Clay Crush, Nude Nuance, Divine Wine and Burgundy Blush.

 Now let me tell you how I enjoyed using each shade!  I am claiming these colors to be my lipstick color of choice since the start of the year!

Clay Crush

This particular shade is the lightest among my 4 lipstick and this I can claim to be my "Nude Lipstick shade" too!  It may be light and delicate to look at but pigmentation was crazy!  I get full coverage in one swipe considering how pigmented my lips look!  Most nude lipsticks require me to use a lip concealer to achieve the shade, not with Clay Crush!

Now let's talk about the tone, it is a warm medium brown tone with peach color making this a "non-sickly" lip color!  Definitely wearable for fair to dark complexion gals!

Nude Nuance

Nude Nuance is a warm brown color that could look darker on fair-skinned gals but light to medium brown on girls who have dark complexion.  This particular color is beautiful on lip, I call this the perfect 90's brown lipstick shade BUT, the tricky part about the finish of this particular shade is how it could get drying on users who have dry lips like I do!  So better pucker up with generous amount of lip balm (wipe off before application of lipstick) just to protect your lips from chapping and flaking.

Divine Wine

Those who are allergic to red lipstick may want to give Divine Wine a try!  This is a deep burgundy color with red and brown mixed pretty well together you can't tell which shade is in higher authority.  I particular may not be a fan of this color as it can wash off my features but I like how this will look on users with medium to darker complexion --- very sexy I must say!

 

Burgundy Blush

 If I need to pick or wear one extremely dark lip color somewhere, this is the kind of shade I would totally pick!  Burgundy Blush is a dark plum color for most skin tone but on fair-skinned girls, this is a "goth-look" lip color which is extremely nice!  You know when you want to switch from sweet-looking to vampy-looking?  This is the shade to go!

Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipsticks, as I mentioned earlier, are my favorite creation from the brand!  I love how the lipsticks are extremely pigmented, so pigmented that it can cover my pigmented lips!  It glides on smoothly (like butter) on normal lips but for users with extremely dry lips, it is still forgiving to use!  It doesn't highlight or enhance the dryness of my lips but it is very important to hydrate midday with a lipbalm. 

HOW?  By applying lipbalm on top, dab with clean tissue, and reapply lip color.

Most importantly?  The lipstick gives off a matte finish so it is longer-lasting than regular lipsticks.

So there are so many lipsticks for me to test and try but rest assured you'll find all 4 shades of these on my "daily-to-use-lipsticks" basket!
