Revlon Colorstay 2-in-1 Compact Foundation and Concealer Review

In today's cosmetics industry, product formulation aren't the only ones getting the makeover, even the packaging!  It was a lovely surprise to see Revlon Colorstay 2-in-1 Compact Makeup and Concealer - a compact that includes cream foundation and concealer.  Long time AMW readers would know how much of a reviewer I am especially with base makeup.  And Revlon (so far) delivers when it comes to base makeup, check out my old reviews on their foundations!

According to Revlon ---
Revlon's ColorStay 2-In-1 Compact is an expertly matched makeup + concealer that lasts all day.
  • Sweat resistant
  • Perfectly matched shades
  • Blends seamlessly to an even, semi-matte finish
  • All day wear

The packaging immediately caught my attention!  Nothing too fancy but I like how this compact comes in three different tiers.  First tray is the concealer, the next one is the foundation.

And the last tray houses the sponge with a use-able mirror!

For review, I got the shade 200 Nude.  Swatch of Concealer and Foundation below.

Thumbs Up: with Revlon Colorstay 2-in-1 Compact Foundation in Nude

Thumbs Down: bare faced

The foundation itself maybe cream-based but it doesn't feel heavy on skin.  My skin is combination (normal/dry) and so far, it doesn't sit into my dry areas BUT, because I've been taking care of my skin really well with serums, face masks, moisturizer, I can use this without trouble.  For those who have extremely dry or parched skin, I highly recommend to steer clear from cream based foundation as much as possible or (if you must) hydrate your skin really well with a heavy cream/moisturizer before using this product.

As for coverage, the foundation gives light to medium coverage.  The foundation itself can actually double up as a concealer if you don't need heavy coverage!

The effect is flawless and natural to look at (as long as you pick the right shade).  So far, so good, this can be hailed as a daily foundation for those who prefers to wear foundation on a daily basis.

Now onto the concealer.
The concealer is lighter in shade (1 shade lighter) which I find to be a great "highlighter" instead of concealer.  This may work if you concealed your undereye circle well with the mere use of the cream foundation or maybe, you use a separate corrector before applying this.  I highly recommend not to use this solely as an undereye concealer because it has the tendency to "highlight" the area thus making your undereye darkness more obvious than usual.

The undereye area was highlighted a bit but I prefer not to use this to conceal my undereye because it tends to dry out the areas especially several hours after application.  So I'm quite happy the concealer pot is small and the foundation side is huge because I find myself using the foundation side more often than the concealer.

Overall, I think the Revlon Colorstay 2-in-1 Compact Foundation + Concealer would go well for users who have normal or oily skin!

Have you tried this new Compact Foundation with Concealer?

How do you find it and what's your skin type?

Keep smilin'
Stay happy!
