Found A Super Natural Blush in Essence Satin Touch

If there's ONE blush that I have to keep-safe even if it expires, surprisingly, I have an answer.  It would be the Mineraux Skin Perfecting Minerals Beach Tan Bronzer.  Oh, I blogged about that bronzer/blush 2009 and it has been what?  8 Years?

True enough, if you open my make up dresser, you'll see this tiny pot of Bronzer until this very day.  There is just ONE big reason why I kept it until this day and probably longer.  Okay, there's 2!

1. It really looks good on me and I feel great wearing it.
2. This was the blush I wore the day before my mom went through her surgery which turned out to be really bad (related post: How to deal with Depression and my personal story), she complimented how nice the color of my cheeks was and I clearly remembered how I did not mention it was because of the blush and accepted the compliment like I was a natural Goddess!  *hahaha*

During one of Bhagi's Shopping Event, I chanced upon an Essence Cosmetics counter and took ONE look at this particular blush, didn't do any swatching, and just knew the shade is right (and very similar to the Mineraux Beach Tan Bronzer that I like which isn't around anymore by the way), I picked this last piece and knew I made the right decision when I saw this photo.

Okay, it isn't exactly the same, the Mineraux one has better sheen while this particular blush leans more to the demi-matte finish, I still find this the closest blush that I would love and keep close to my heart.

Seriously, I don't even need to share my story because the selling point was already there --- price is extremely affordable and I actually like how simple the packaging is.  Housed in a rounded clear plastic container, you get to see this gorgeous pattern at once.

Swatch: 20 Satin Love
Satin brown lives up to the name, it is indeed a warm brown with a hint of bronze shade giving a satin smooth finish on application.

As for application, I like to start applying with a small blush brush starting from the apples of my cheeks going upward and outwards.  On days I want to give more "sheen" on my cheeks, I use a highlighting powder blending everything together.

Let's talk about formulation.  The Essence Satin Touch Blush is indeed soft, easy-to-blend and pigmentation is build-able.  This is the type of blush where you won't go wrong even with heavy-hand application!  The effect is very subtle and you can always apply more to create more drama.

As for texture, the powder applies smoothly on skin without any fall-out.  It does last long on me because I have dry skin but for oily to normal skin, re-application may be needed or you may set with a translucent powder to keep the powder from sliding off upon contact with face oil.

This is how 20 Satin Love would look on a fair-skinned gal.

Overall, this is the closest dupe to my favorite Mineraux blush and it gives the same "natural high" I get.  I can actually survive going out wearing only this and a similar shade lip color on weekends (Yup, I can skip brows because I can hide them under bangs).  I've done it!  Promise!

  1. I love Essence blushes too. I got mine during their sale and it's for only P99. Mine is Essence Silky Touch blush in Dolly Pink (if I got it right) it's a peachy/pink blush thats perfect for everyday flush on the cheeks. Maybe I should try your recommendation as well.
