Step-by-Step Guide on using a Hair Clip

Mirror mirror on the table...
who is the fairest of them all?
"not you"
cause your hair's a total mess!

The way you style your hair, can either make you a goddess or a witch. I truly acknowledge styling the hair is as important as putting on makeup. It can either make or break your look.

First of all, let me clarify that I'm not claiming to be a "hair expert", what you'll be hearing from me are from my own experiences and ideas as I've been through years of struggling with my own hair, so this could work for me but not to others (I do hope it works for everyone though)

I got this beautiful clip as a gift from my students when I was teaching in China. It was 4 years ago and I didn't know what to do with it so I kept it for a while. It came up to a time that I just want to conquer this and so far, I was able to use this without any rubber bands , hair pins or even clips!

Here's how it looks like...thanks again to my wonderful student from ZFU for giving me this as a gift. Scroll down and you'll see the "Askmewhats version" of the step-by-step guide.
Smile and Enjoy!

Step 1: Start off by coming your hair well

Step 2: Hold onto your hair and slowly twist it while pulling your hair clockwise

Step 3 : Twist while forming a bun

Step 4: Twist more, not letting go
(make sure to support your hair)

Step 5: Continue to twist until you form a "mini bun"

Step 5: Hold onto the last end and pull it out a bit to tighten the hair

Step 7: Clip the hair with the big clip
making sure all areas are covered

This will be how it looks like!
May look a bit messy, but it stays

Here's how the side looks like

And...the other side (yup cam-whoring even sideview) LOL

If you will be attending a more formal affair make sure to note down the following:
  • Spray on leave-on conditioner or any hair products that would soften your hair
  • Loosely tie a coated elastic band and create a low pony-tail
  • Do all the "twisting" steps
  • After everything was done, spray on hair-spray all over your hair and slightly comb your hair so that small hairs won't show up
This is such a long post right?
Sorry...
But just for you guys to know, I still have the bun right intact!
This will look great on those "bad hair" days and you just want your hair neatly pulled up!

Smile and be happy and be "Bun-tiful!"

Askmewhats Version: "Sparkly Black" Look

One "small-eye" shot a day....
Drives the "big eye" away! LOL

I tried another dark eye look and I came up using silvery shadows as base
Putting on very dark e/s on the lid and blending it well...
Then top it off with a sparkly e/s and the whole look would be... "Sparkly Black"

Party on ladies!Go wild 'n crazy!
It's your time to shine!

Dance like there's no tomorrow!

Sing like no one's around!

Want to check out a "regular/non sparkly" black look?
Smile and say Octopus Ink!

Weekend Food Tripping at: Sumosam

Sumosam is a Japanese restaurant owned by the actor Mr. Marvin Agustin and partners. I would say this is one of the BEST Japanese restaurant (in my taste) for good quality Japanese food and it's affordable price!

I've had my dinner here for more than 10x I would say because this restaurant is located at the Shangri-La mall which is near my workplace. The hubby and I would have our dinner here at times after work. You would say I'm not the only one enjoying the food as you can see lines of people waiting and you can sometimes see some actors and actresses dining here as well.

Here's what I had (take note, I always order different dish each time I visit this place)

Tuna Salad Role (Php169.00/approx $4.00)
The tuna is indeed super fresh and the combination of fresh tuna and mayonnaise really makes my mouth water!!!!

Tofu Chop Chop! (Php198.00/approx $5.00)
I LOVE tofu!!! Really, any restaurant I go that serves tofu, I'll definitely order. What I love about these tofu is that they are not the usual "soft" tofu kind that would break when you use a chopstick. They used hard tofu with crunchy exterior and a sauce that is oh so yummy! It's just perfect!

Pork & Chili Soba (Php228.00/approx $5.50)
I've tried all their noodle dish and this one is my favorite! First, because it says "chili" and second because they have enough pork, seafood and vegetables and mixed together with 2 eggs? Heaven!

And may I say I am always into TEA? This restaurant serves the best house tea!!! It has this raspberry taste. And I can down the whole POT! Promise! lol and look at just how cute the teapot is? Who can resist?

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I had a great one! Celebrated early for Father's Day as I will have a busy weekend next week with make-up! (YAY) Be beautiful and eat well!

Readers' Corner: Products I Wish We Have Here

Read ye! Read ye!

"If a make-up "god" sent you an email..asking you to create a list of cosmetics in which you would want it to be easily accessible in your country, what's your list?"

Your Askmewhats didn't have a hard time making the list! (I typed it all down in less than 5 minutes!). Since I started beauty blogging and beauty reading. A lot of beauty bloggers like I am have been doing a lot of product reviews and recommendations that pushed me to the "lemming" limit --- you gals know who you are! Tsk tsk tsk. But I ain't complaining at all, I'm actually thankful as it's helpful for me to create my own make-up stash and make sure I buy the best quality product at it's best price!

Here's my list...I tried to trim it down as the "makeup GOD" might complain! LOL

1. NYX Products

NYX was well known to the Youtube world and bloggers world. High-end brand users vouch for the good quality of NYX eyeshadows and the lovely colors of NYX Round Lipstick! The good thing about NYX round lipstick is that they have a wide range of color selection for only 99 cents! Who can go wrong with it?

I am a proud user of NYX concealer in a Jar and NYX singles e/s and I can say they are indeed of good quality! I would definitely re-purchase but shipping really..is killing me!

2. Milani Eyeshadows

Nessa of nessasarrymakeup vouched on the quality of these eyeshadows! The good thing about them ? They fit the MAC pro palette! Though their color range isn't as wide as NYX, Milani is highly pigmented and the colors are definitely intense!!!

I currently own Shock and Storm and I want MORE!

3. Too Faced Shadow Insurance

I've seen reviews, comparisons between the Too Faced Shadow Insurance and the Urban Decay Potion Primer (UDPP). The Too Faced Shadow Insurance seems to have its own group of fans...so I want to keep my hands on them and give this a try!

4. UDPP (urban decay primer potion)

I never even know there's such thing as "eye primer" since I heard about UDPP! I always hated putting on e/s because I hate creasing and I hate messy make-up. UDPP literally made me "salivate" big time! I own 2 UDPP and I'm lucky enough to have found an ebay seller who's super nice and I would say sold it in an affordable shipping rate! I plan ahead, I still have UDPP, but I want them here..before I used up my 2 genie bottle!

5. L'oreal Hip Duo Eyeshadow

We have L'oreal here but I just don't get it why they don't include the HIP Line! I would say I have tried L'oreal e/s here but it isn't pigmented at all!!!! My aunt from Canada gave me a regular L'oreal Duo e/s and it's super pigmented and colors are great! What's wrong with our L'oreal here? Anyways, HIP line, I want you...come to momma!

6. All Stila products!!!

If you're a reader of my blog, you would see that most of my EOTDs, I've used eyeliner and I've always used my Stila Smudgepots Gel in Black to do the "winged" look and it never fails me!!! I'd say a lot of readers are recommending MAC fluidline to me, I will promise! But after I finish up my Stila, just for your information, I bought Stila first instead of MAC fluidline because it is (surprisingly) cheaper compared to MAC. (for reference, I bought them online at the Strawberrynet site)

I wanted to try Stila's e/s as well. I've seen enough of videos wherein beauty gurus would use Stila and I would "want them" and can't have them!

Stila, I love you...come here! :P

Did I missed any?
Please don't be shy and help me add the list up :)
Shen, dear, I know you're nodding right now wanting to add up the Ben Nye e/s set!
You don't have to be from the Philippines,...
Askmewhats asks YOU...
"What are the products/brands you would LOVE to have in your country?"
I can't wait to know!
