Paul & Joe Event on June 28 and 29

**photo of the old P&J Dual Foundation Powder

I got a text message from Paul & Joe

"We would like to invite you on June 28th and 29th 4:00pm for the launching of our new Protective Dual powder Foundation and Primer with SPF40. Please bring your other brand of foundation to compare the difference with the P&J's newest foundation"

"There will be some gift certificates to be sold at discounted price consumable only for the date of purchase and all gift certificates are limited. Some limited offer of freebies as well for those 2 days!"

I will be bringing my MAC Studio Fix Powder foundation to see the difference
I wonder if their packaging will still be the same?

Shu Uemura VS Fanny Serrano Eyelash Curler

I know a lot of comparisons has been done between Shu Uemura and Shiseido...
I never owned a Shiseido lash curler
I've had my fair share of plastic lash curlers, really cheap lash curlers etc...
Since I'm a die-hard magazine reader, I've read 2 years ago on the Cosmopolitan yearly award on the Splurge vs. Save portion and there I've seen the Fanny Serrano Eyelash curler won the Cosmo award as a good Dupe for the Shu Uemura curler.
Considering it's price, for less than Php200.00! (approx $4.00) compared to Shu's Php1,000 (approx $22.00), I'm definitely giving this a try!

So here's my head to head comparison of the expensive vs. the cheap! :)

(again, this is just my opinion, feel free to comment)

Side by side, you can see that the Shu Uemura curler is a bit bigger, in terms of the arm, the head, but as you can see, the FS curler looks like a medium sized version of the Shu.

Check out the head, they both have the brand name written/carved. The Shu curler is wider and bigger while the FS curler is a bit more curved.

The FS curler being more curved, it is a li'l bit difficult to reach the short lashes that I have. (Just a teeny bit difficult)

Top view, again as stated, the Shu is wider compared to the FS, but the foam used, well in my opinion, they are "almost" identical, same black, same silicon pad "feeling" !

And here's a close up shot on the "arm/latch".

The Shu Uemura Curler ---

Pros
  • does its job in curling my lashes
  • easy to reach the "hard to reach" part
  • fits my eye

Cons
  • pinches my left eye
  • expensive
  • can change pad upto 2x and you have to buy a new one
The Fanny Serrano Eyelash Curler ---

Pros
  • can easily buy the refill, can use the curler longer (can be lifetime if you take care of this)
  • the refills can be purchased in all beauty stores for a pack of 3 for less than Php100 (approx $3.00)
  • very affordable
  • does its job in curling my lashes

Cons
  • pinches my left eye (same with Shu, even Shiseido! I borrowed from my friend)
  • that's all! I can't find any con for now
Overall?

To be honest, both curlers work for me! I find that when I curl my left eye, both eyelash curler pinches my eye so i have to use my finger to "LIFT" my left eye manually as I think I have extra skin on my left eye or something.

If you are on a budget, the FS is A-OK. If you have the extra moolah! then go for the Shu. Both works for me, I alternate in using them so that my Shu doesn't get too "molested" LOL <--- what a term! I am not sure if FS is available for our international readers, it's definitely available in all beauty shops in the Philippines. Fanny Serrano by the way is a name of a famous make-up artist here in the Philippines. He's got a whole range of good cosmetics that are affordable and of good quality! :)

Have you curled your lashes lately?

Do you think curling your lashes makes a huge difference to your overall look?

Askmewhats Reviews: Changpo Magic Straight Treatment

Changpo, have I ever told you that I love you?
Yeah, I did, I think I told you I love you as a Shampoo and a Conditioner
But now, I'm loving you as a treatment!

Do I have to use your whole line?

Well I guess I am!

Have I told you that you smell so good?

I did?

Well, I'm telling you once again,

Gee...you make my hair smells terrific!

** Available at The Face Shop for Php355 (approx $8.00)

Askmewhats Says ---

A little bit of background on my hair, my hair was rebonded a couple of years ago, and it's not super wavy but it's not naturally straight as well. As you know, when your locks are growing, the natural texture of your hair will show up which ain't good to look at. Weekly treatments are super important for me. Since the Changpo Magic Straight Shampoo and Conditioner worked so well on me (so well that I am finishing up my 3rd combo), I've thought about buying this treatment for some time now. I gave in! After I finished up my Lux Treatment.

Again, these are my personal opinion, a certain product could work on me but not to everyone! :)

Pros
  • Very rich and creamy in texture
  • Smells so good
  • the softness stays for 4 days now, and still counting
  • it indeed flattened my hair (not the limpy kind)

Cons
I don't see much cons for now, the only concern is that, with me using this 3x a week, with my long hair, I'm just not sure if it would last a month! LOL

Tips
  • apply 2x a week for normal hair, apply 3x a week for dry damaged hair
  • the instruction says leave it for 3-5 minutes, i leave it around 10minutes!
  • use a shower cap, scrub your body, sing, dance while waiting for the time OR if you can't wait...
  • just towel dry your hair, put this treatment on, use a shower cap and just do your house chores! You don't have to stay inside the shower right? Not unless you need to clean the toilette? *winks*
  • concentrate on the roots and also the ends of your hair! <--- driest and oldest part of your hair.

Will I repurchase?

Yes! Of course! I am planning to stock!

My Hair Accessories

Before I got super addicted to make-up, I first got addicted to hair accessories!
When I knew that I'll be working overseas for a year, I knew I had to bring all my hair accessories! How would I do that?
Well, that's what organizers are for! I bought this at SM Sta. Mesa (SM Centerpoint then) for approx Php400.00 ($10.00) and I'm sure the price is different now. I love this organizer because its foldable..and you can hang it anywhere! :)

Looking at this made me go back to the time I pack everything, and I put this on top of all my belongings just to protect this from being "smashed" lol

Awww, still looks new right? It's with me for 7 years now! :D
See how good I take care of stuffs? LOL

Here it is now, in my humble room! With my hair accessories
Of course these are not all, I have given out most of my hair accessories as I grew older!
Very useful, easy access! :D

Are you into hair accessories?
Tell me!
Where do you put all your hair stuffs?
Spill!
