Askmewhats Version: "Boring Neutral Look"

Everybody knows I love neutrals. But one blogger friend Alyssa just can't get enough of it! LOL You love me Alyssa, I can feel it from the other side of the world :P

Anyways, she requested for a BROWN brown look. Not the reddish brown look, but this came out a li'l bit reddish brown but I promise you, it is dark brown! lol I guess I just love mixing and blending that it all came out lighter (I love light eye color)

Here's my final look, dedicated to all "boring neutral" lovers out there (including me!)

Let me break it down for you on what products I've used

Numbered on Photo:

1. Cover Girl Eye Enhancers in Mocha - all over lids

2. Milani Java Bean - corner of the eye for the deep set look
3. Bourjois Beige Rose - as highlighter

Not numbered on photo:

1. L'oreal Hip Cream Shadow in Secretive - as base
2. Kate Gradical Eyes PK2 - all over lids for highlighting effect
3. Maybelline eyeliner in Black
4. Paul & Joe Curly Mascara in Brown

Final Look

A new lippie I bought called 4U2 No. 5

Me and the "Star of the Day"
CRABBY!!!

Neutrals can really be boring ,
but you can use a bright colored lipstick to brighten up your whole look!
It helps to have a cute crabby beside you ,
so all attention would be diverted to her (yes peeps, she's a SHE) :P

Weekend Food Tripping at: Jipan and Sakura

I was having ulcer attacks as I've drowned Coffee, tea, tea, coffee for the whole day! It didn't do good to my stomach and I don't feel like eating. Hubby told me to eat something light and warm so I would feel better.

We've decided to eat at our favorite restaurant (this was the exact restaurant we had dinner AFTER the hubby's proposal last year). We liked this restaurant because you don't eat inside the restaurant but OUTSIDE. LOL And you can see people walking around the mall and there you go, eating in the middle ! lol

Jipan is a Japanese Bread store and they sell lovely dishes from Bento Boxes to Noodle soups.

Here's what I ordered to warm my poor tummy...

Kakiage Udon

udon noodle with egg, chicken pieces, sweet onions and carrots!
(Php 180.00 approx $4.00)

The good thing about eating at Jipan, a nearly restaurant called Sakura can also place your order, you can sit anywhere as you can order in both restaurants! (not sure if they're the same owner) But Sakura is a Japanese Restaurant and Grocery. I can't seem to tell which one is my favorite restaurant as they both can serve great food in their own tastes.

Again, eating in a restaurant won't be complete if i don't try their tofu dishes.

Tofu Steak

this ain't the usual tofu steak that I always eat, though it looks bland, it tastes really good. You can taste the green bell pepper and the sweetness of the pork and the crunchiness of the tofu. Perfectly blended all together to give your tastebud something wonderful to taste with.
(php129.00 approx $2.85)

Fried Gyoza

I am not a gyoza eater, but my hubby is. This was his order. I did tasted half of it and I would say, there are better Gyoza's out there. I find it a bit too salty for my taste and I can taste a bit of fat inside the Gyoza
(Php115.00 approx $2.50)

Before I end this post, to my Philippine Readers. Do you own a Citibank card?
If yes, please take advantage of the 50% off and sale happenin' at Rustan's mall for Citibank card holders! They have some good products on sale just for us! And I've seen a lot of 3% rebate out there for cardholders like us!

Here's what I got. My favorite nipper (for backup) and a scissor for eyebrows (also for backup). Both are priced at around Php 129.75 (approx $2.80) each and because of the Citibank credit card, I got both at 50% off! So Php 130.00 (approx $2.85) for 2 products!!!

Such a Wonderful Day!

It was a lovely Saturday, as I met up my friends in Highschool for a mini reunion for lunch. After 2 hours of chitchat, met up with my hubby at Glorietta mall, and BOY I love sale! I bought a couple of stuffs mostly on 50% off!

The good part about this day is not buying stuffs (that's why I didn't post them here). The wonderful part of the day is finally meeting the lovely blogger who's always been brightening up my day with lovely messages that kept me going. She shares with me my "hatred" for Mondays!

Sab, it's really nice to finally meet you!!! She's soft spoken and a very beautiful lady!!! I was even more surprised when she asked me if I have the latest copy of Girlfriend Magazine. Told her : "yeah!" Coz I knew the August issue wasn't out yet because they always tend to be in circulation later than the rest of the magazines. I was even more surprised when she pulled out the August issue and gave it to me!!!

I honestly am speechless, I can't stop hugging her! It's just the thought of someone, I barely new, someone I just met online, would go out of her way to walk to the coffee shop (which ain't near) and would even give me something she knew I love. Small gesture like this touches my heart so deeply. I have LOADS of magazine collections but trust me Sab darling, this would be something I would cherish all my life! THANK YOU dear!!!

When I got home, I was even happier when I saw a package! Remembered I told you guys about the order I made for the Ardell Brow & Lash Accelerator? I got it! And I didn't receive a notice card but this package right in front of me! (Yay, no need to wait til Monday to go to the post office!)

Thanks Nessa for shipping this real fast for me! Nessa's super easy to communicate with and her shipping rate good for people who are outside of the US. Trust her that the products are new and in good condition as well (this is my 2nd order and both times, I don't have complaints).

I will start using this tonight and let's wait for a couple of weeks for my in-depth review on this!

Ardell Brow & Lash accelerator? You are in deep trouble!!! You will be investigated! LOL

I wish to see more of the beauty bloggers out there!
If you see me, do not hesitate to show me some luvin' and say "hi"
Have a great weekend everyone!

Before I end this post...thanks to my dear hubby for this...he won this in an arcade for me!

*sigh* Love is Being CHILDISH lol

Askmewhats Reviews: TFS Natural Intensive Sun Cream SPF 50

I admit it! I always skipped on sunblock lotions/creams. I have read so much about putting on sunscreen to save your skin from the sun's harmful rays, and most of all, to save yourself from speeding up your aging process.

Shame on me, I am a beauty blogger, but I don't use sunscreen!

NOW IT'S THE MOMENT OF TRUTH...

I am getting older, I am aging, and I need look for the "fountain of youth". I was told it starts with Sunscreen! Then with eating healthily, exercising, drinking lots of fluid blah blah blah (list goes on). But I did mentioned SUNSCREEN right?

Against my will, I finally bought a tube of sunscreen. This is not my first though, years ago, I have used Neutrogena (which I haven't reviewed yet...will probably do that soon).

Now, it's time for me to show some TLC for Sunscreens!

To all sunscreens in the world...this post is for all of you...for being the protector of the universe...for being Superman! Batman, Iron man, Spiderman!

The Face Shop's Natural Intensive Sun Cream SPF50 PA+++

**can be bought at all TFS shops for Php495.00 (approx $10.75)

Here's the back portion of the box
(click on enlarge if you want to read)

The tube is 50 ml/1.69 FL OZ.
Approximately the size of my hand

Texture - creamy
Color - white
Does not drip

When rubbed once, skin absorbs the cream easily

After 3 massages, VOILA! Invisible!

TFS Intensive Sun Cream SPF 50 says ---

High-level UVA/UVB sun protection in a long lasting cream formula.
Powerful sun shield blocks both UVA and UVB while the water and sweat resistant formula provides long lasting protection. Formulated with Pongamia Extract, a natural sun screen agent, Aloe and Sunflower seed extracts, it hydrates and nourishes skin to prevent sun damage to the skin. Nano sized particles go on evenly without lumping and leave skin feeling fresh.

Askmewhats says ---

Pros
  • lightweight
  • smells wonderful (light aloe, nothing too irritating)
  • easily absorbed by the skin
  • water (including perspiration) resistant
  • non greasy --- very important to me
  • can last for a long time as a little goes a long way
  • handy, packaging is sleek and nice, easy to carry around

Cons
  • with it's "matte" finish, people with dry skin would find this a bit too drying, not for me though, I always use a moisturizer underneath the sun cream
  • *surprised* NO MORE!

Overall

I have used TFS Sun Cream testers for quite some time, the original formula (which is white and green in packaging) is faced-out. I find this new formulation is better and not too drying. Though at first glance, it may be a bit too expensive for a sun cream, but compared ot other sun block lotions, this has higher SPF of 50 and one small tube definitely lasts a long time as the cream glides on easily on the skin.

Tip

If you have oily skin, they also have the Natural Intensive Sun Milk Cream, non-oil based, perfect for oily skin! Again, always give their tester a try first before buying anything. I went for their testers 2-3x and applied it on my cheek to test for allergies before I finally purchased this. Do not be shy to ask about samples (if needed) for you to be able to road test on the product before spending money for it!

Will I repurchase?
Yes.

What's your sunscreen brand?
Do you use sunscreen daily? no cheating at all?

What's in My Make-up Bag?

Lovely Tine from Beautyholics Anonymous wanted to know "What's in my Make-up Bag". I have posted it several months ago and things have changed. Stuffs had changed but the quantity didn't change much!

Yup, a beauty addict like myself carries few make-up as much as possible. I hate lugging all the make-up around (I only do that when friends would request for me to do a makeover for them). That's why I have to make sure I do my make-up well each morning and all it would only be Powder and Lipstick re-touch. That's all I'm willing to do. That's how lazy I am :P

Now it's time for my make-up bag to Shine!

I do change my make-up bag every now and then
and give them a nice wash.
Make-up bags need TLC you know!

Here are the contents

What's inside ---
  • Paul & Joe Protective Dual Powder Foundation No. 3 - my HG powder Foundation
  • Band Aids - I tend to be very careless and hurt myself :(
  • Mirror (from japan, it has the regular and magnifying one) - perfect if I want to take a peek without people knowing :P
  • Paul & Joe blush - perfect mix of peachy orange, very glowy effect
  • Paul & Joe eyebrow pencil no. 2 - if I need to refill my brows again
  • Maybelline eyeliner in Black - I don't bring this always, depends on my mood
  • Tweezers - for my newly grown eyebrows
  • Lancome Lipstick in Rose- this is a perfect pinkish nude color flattering for everybody
  • Artdeco Lip gloss - perfect glittery pout, anytime!
  • Kiehl's No. 1 Lip balm - for my uber dry lips
  • Lip brush - for my Kiehl's Lip balm, I hate using my fingers!
  • Lancome mini quad eyeshadow - if friends wanted an instant makeover

To my darling Tine, here you go! :P Hope you like how it looks. Thanks so much for wanting to see what's on my make-up bag. It's honestly boring! But I hope you like it!!!

So, anyone willing to share "What's in Your make-up bag?" I'm all EENT (Eyes, ears, nose, throat)!
