Up Close and Personal : The Nail Art Pen

After my first nail art tutorial. A lot of my readers got interested with my nail art pen. Let me show you my nail art pen collection and how I got it.

As you know, I have my nails originally done by the nail art lady (that's how I call her here) but her name is Aling Lucring! lol She was the wonderful person who's got the talent to do "any design" I would ask her to do. Since I've been watching her do all those designs for months now, I picked up a couple of ideas and I've decided to share my nail art to my mom and friends!

It was quite difficult to order the pen as she got it from a friend in another country. So I asked her to buy me the basic colors and I got it!

Here's how much I love it I protect my nail art pens with a cute pouch :) <-- pouch is mine

TADA!!!

L-R White, Black, Purple, Pink, Dark Green, Yellow and Gliterry Blue

A lot of you who own this pen would say, it is hard to use as it dries quickly and would clog the tip. That's when the needle comes in handy. This ain't just any ordinary needle, this is very small and tiny! So don't lose this!

Press the nail art pen well and see that the nail polish comes out and start drawing!

The good part is, it's dual purpose!
You can use the fine brush for those designs that needed brush strokes.

I love this, I love the look on my mom's face every time I did something new!

Askmewhats Reviews: Prestige Shadow Crease Brush

Any make-up enthusiast have their own favorite brush. Most of your favorites probably are those expensive ones. Me, I am different! My favorite make-up brush that I would find myself picking up every morning is less than Php300! (approx $6.70). This is one brush that I can use in applying the whole "eye" look!

Introducing...
Prestige #103 Shadow Crease Brush
(I also call this my blending brush)

** The Prestige Shadow Crease Brush #103 available at all Beauty Bar

Askmewhats says ---

The Handle
  • Wooden handle
  • Covered with a shiny polish that prevents the handle from getting cracked or chipped
  • Approximately 4 inches long which is just the right size

The Ferrule (the metal part that holds the hair and the handle)
  • I think this one is made of nickel
  • rust-proof (I have washed this many times, doesn't rust)

The Hair
  • using my own EENT (eyes ears nose throat) lol test. This is made of natural hair (but I don't know which kind)
  • Very soft
  • no hair fall (washed more than 50x since I first purchased)

Overview

  • Since this brush is very soft, I use this to blend my make-up well.
  • Always remember that the softer the brush hair, the lesser the product it can pick, thus creating a very soft and very natural look!

Will I repurchase?

YES!

Now, Askmewhats asks you ---

You will be going for a month-long "Survivor" trip and you can only bring just 1 brush, what brush are you going to bring and why?

Eureka Moment: Tweezers

I hate plucking my own brows. Aside from it being painful, I just can't pluck my eyebrows neatly. You know why? Because I got the wrong tools. Tools are equally as important as products. Same with make-up. Make-up is useless when you use the wrong kinds of tools.

When I borrowed a tweezer from a friend, I was plucking like a Pro! And I was hooked! Hooked to purchase my own pair of tweezer. My friend can't remember where she bought this tweezers. So I was on a lookout for MONTHS (Exactly 8 months) to look for this.

Shame on me, it was just right there, sitting at the lovely Rustan's mall in Makati, and it's not YELLOW! It could be red, green, blue, black, yellow! I bought it on spot and I kept my mouth shut about tweezers from then on!

** available at all Rustan's malls for Php129.75 (approx $2.90)

Askmewhats says ---

Pros
  • very affordable
  • stainless steel
  • colored handle is so cute, you can beautify your makeup bag with this lovely tweezers
  • available in flat tip/slanted tip - your choice
  • the tip is so thin that you can easily grab stubborn brow
Cons
  • Hard to find! (I've only seen them at Rustan's Malls)
  • The color chipped (a bit) but mine happened after a year

Tips

  • Always check that the tip is not too thick, I find that the thicker the tip, the harder to reach those small and stubborn hairs.

  • There's a lot of tweezers that looks like this, check the plastic, I took a picture of the plastic so you'll know which is which.
  • Comes with free plastic (use it, to protect your tweezers). Mine started to chip when I didn't use the plastic case that comes with it <--- learn from my mistake people!
  • Choose slant tip or flat tip, depending on your preference, I bought both, since it's affordable, nothing bad to have both as there really are some hard to reach hairs that needed special tools

Will I repurchase?

YES! I Just did! I bought a black one for back-up!
(if you have a Citibank Credit Card, buy this for 50% off!)

I love it that I've found a product that works and is so cheap!
I call this a "Eureka" moment.
*applause applause*
