Nail Art Tutorial: "Vampy Nails"

Let's be vampy! Though I am not keen on using bright red lippies, I am into Bloody Red nail polishes. As long as people look at my nails not my face, I am ok with it :P

Here's another simple "to do" yet Bold "to look at" nail art tutorial for all of you!

Step 1:

Apply any red nail polish as base. I used the ELF nail polish (thanks Toma!)

Step 2:

Using a white nail art pen, draw a triangle dot at the side. (this will look like a half flower)

Step 3:

Same fingernail, draw 5 dots (to create a full flower look)

Here's me using left hand to draw my right nails If I can, YES YOU CAN!
Together please: "YES WE CAN!"

Let me show you my thumb, since the thumbnail has bigger space Draw more dots Look at the blue dots I've done via computer
(this looks useless for now...but you'll get the purpose below)

Step 4:

Using a yellow nail polish pen (or any bright color pen), create a BUD on the full flower (the one you have 5 full dots)

Step5:

Using another colored nail art pen to create a BUD on the HALF flower (you can use the same yellow if you don't have enough colored pens)

Step 6:

Another color again for the other half flower (the thumb has 2 half flowers remember?)

Step 7:

Do not forget to apply a clear nail polish on top of the art.

Sit back, and enjoy your creation!

Tips:
  1. If you don't have enough colored pens, you can use one color on all those flowers!
  2. Apply your nail polish base, and let it dry for a couple of minutes before you start drawing.
  3. Always draw one hand first, STOP, let dry, before you continue the other hand (to prevent smudging)
  4. Invest on a good clear top coat and quick dry polish, to protect what you worked hard for! (you don't want to spend so much time drawing and it'll smudge and chip in less than a week right?)

Again...keep this in mind...
"Imperfection is Perfection!"

Eureka Moment: MMU Mini Case

**Available at Landmark, Trinoma for Php9.75 (approx $0.22) per pack

I have ordered e/s samples online and I am waiting for them to arrive. Being an "organized" person as I am. I wanted them to have a home. I thought I couldn't find anything cheaper than my previous post as seen here

Me being someone who wanted to get the best deal, I made sure to always look around and search for better deals! Money is not everything, but we worked hard for it...so better use it wisely right?

So finally! I've found a very good deal mini container for my e/s samplers! What I love about this is that...it's PINK!!! And what's the better deal? Comes in packs of 2 with FREE mini spatula!!! That's the best deal I would say!!!

Here's a comparison against an AA Battery for you to imagine how big the container is.
I don't mind it's size as e/s samples aren't much!

I also plan to do a surgery for my Urban Decay Primer Potion. I've seen in most beauty bloggers that the remaining UDPP can fit 2 mini jars. So I bought a bigger container to fit them all in! So, let's not get out of the Motiff! :P

** Available at Landmark , Trinoma Branch for Php24.75 (approx $0.50)

I love it that it also comes with a free spatula! It's as big as an AA Battery. UDPP, you will be in PAIN tomorrow! lol

Happy Weekend everyone!
I'll try to post more Eureka moments for you guys!
As being beautiful doesn't have to be expensive!

Askmewhats Reviews: Sally Hansen Dry Kwik Nail Color Dryer

A nail enthusiast like me aside from prettifying my nails likes to make sure I prettify beautifully and of course, at a shortest time possible! I still want some QT (Quality Time) with my family you know?

Let's talk about MANICURE!

Maximum time spent for cleaning my nails = 10 minutes
Maximum time spent for nail art = 10 minutes
Drying time? = 1 hour + (before I can really move around)

Not good right? That's why I have to do something about it!!! That's when I laid my eyes on this....

All I can see at the store was DRY KWIK!
Who would say no to this right?
(I did 3x, and after research and further thinking, I cave in!)

** Sold at Sally Hansen Counters for Php299.75 (approx $6.50)

A closer look on the brush

Sally Hansen Dry Kwik Says ---

Ingredients: mineral oil, octyl epoxidized soybean oil, cyclopentasiloxane

You have
  • Wet nail color and messy manicures
  • nail color smudges, smears and scuffs
You want
  • Dry nail color now!
How it works
  • easy brush-on formula makes nail color dry to the touch in just one minute.
  • Helps prevent smudges and smears, without dulling the shine.
  • Moisturizes and nourishes cuticles
You'll Get
  • A flawless manicure in just minutes!
Askmewhats says ---

Pros
  • the brush is easy to use, very thin and smooth!
  • my nail color lasts longer
  • nail color is shiny
  • dries pretty quick! Definitely a minute!
  • though the ingredient is OIL, it doesn't have this really bad OILY feeling that I hate
  • Salon tested and dermatologist tested!
Cons
  • NONE

Overall

Sally Hansen has a more expensive version of a 30 second quick dry for double the price! I've been thinking back and forth and I thought, if I can wait for an hour in the past, 1 minute is nothing! I'm glad I bought this as this really works well for me. Of course, I don't go doing hardcore chores after a minute of applying this Quik Dry, but I definitely see major improvement of drier polish! I don't know if it's just me, but my work entails me to TYPE the whole day!!! I usually have my pinky fingernail chip after 2 days. This time, with the Sally Hansen Dry Kwik, it started to chip after 5 days! That's a huge improvement! I will continuously use this and I will get back to you guys for any changes!

Tips
  • Apply nail color as usual, you HAVE to wait for a minute before you apply the Sally Hansen Quik Dry with light strokes.
  • Apply Quik Dry on your nails and also on the cuticles and surrounding skin.
  • When polish gets completely dry, massage the remaining oil into cuticles to moisturize.

Will I repurchase?

YES! Definitely!

True to what I said in the past, you can use whatever nail polish you want and it doesn't have to be expensive. But if you want to make your polish lasts longer, always invest a really good top coat so you don't have to redo your polish or feel frustrated!
